Nixie was born in a lab somewhere, and dumped as a nameless child in the Corellian slums run by the Alliance. She quickly became a sewer rat, stealing and taking whatever advantage she could. Lesser orphans would die in the same circumstances, but she prevailed, and maintained a kind of independence. As she grew older, the sewers became more and more dangerous, and her options became less and less. Sell her body, sell her soul, or sell her skills - which mostly had to do with self-taught slicing, her agility with a knife, ability to pass for a boy, and an affinity for tech that allowed her to steal the occasional speeder or vehicle. She grew up resenting the Alliance, the Republic, and only found brief respite under the rule of the Galactic Empire.
This was where Nix found her calling. After stealing from an Imperial Officer and being caught and jailed briefly, she was visited in her cell by the same officer who offered her the chance to join the Imperial Pilot's program. Nix jumped at the opportunity and joined a group of young cadets - mostly from wealthy families - where she excelled in both game theory and combat simulations. As she continuously scored impressively in simulations, Nix was offered a chance to advance to Military Intelligence, which she turned down in favor of continuing the pilot's program. She continued to excel in strategy simulations and combat games, earning herself a TIE Interceptor patch for her cadet uniform, and a number of gold and silver medals for her completion of many of the complete ship training simulations. Some habits die hard though, and Nix still carries a few small knives hidden throughout her uniform just in case things go sideways.
She is near graduation, and likely to come out of the pilot's program with one of the highest marks in Galactic Empire history, but with the looming shadow of conflict on the horizon for the once vast Empire, there is no sure future for the young Ace.
