Sin City Nightclub - Zenowai Crime Society Turf - Plexis

Flashing purple strobes, the continuous drumbeat of the baseline and melodies roaring from instruments he could not even conceive was an attack on his senses like no other. Armel had never been to a nightclub before and it was an experience so alien to the warrior. Yet despite how on edge he was he felt a pull out into the sea of sentients swaying with the music. Perhaps something biological, an innate desire felt by all Zeltrons.

He would never find out, at least not tonight. He had far more pressing matters.

He pulled himself away from the tinted glass of the sky lounge which overlooked the dance floor. With the Covenant retreat from the core those who remained no longer had the Mythosaur fleet to live off of. He knew some who resorted to mercenary work, in the midst of war the underworld was thriving and there was plenty of work to be had. But Armel could never quite grasp the idea of working for the syndicates, why kowtow to the crime lords when you could just take what you need. That was the Neo-crusader way after all.

Armel felt along the wall of the lounge until he came across an inconspicuous blast door which led to what he could only assume was the strongroom. From his belt he pulled out a lump of blaststick which he rolled into a ball before pressing it flat against the door. Next came the detonator, the explosive caps pushed into where the blaststick was thickest and wired to a small powerpack which he let dangle from the wire.

Armel took a moment to appreciate his work. He let out a deep sigh knowing full well what the Rallymasters on Dxun would have done to him if he tried to present this shoddy excuse for a breaching charge to them.

"Well I tried my best." he whispered to himself, reasoning to an empty room.

He pulled out the detonator switch from his belt and began wiring it to the power pack, steady hands doing there best to not to prematurely detonate the charge and redecorate the wall with his fingers. It nearly became a reality when the double doors to the sky lounge opened. To say the sudden oppressing sound of music and light flooding into the dim lounge made the crusader jump was an understatement.

As the adrenaline rush of nearly blowing himself to smithereens passed he quickly realised he now had to contend with whoever decided to interrupt his little heist as a silhouette now stood in the door frame. His mind was flooded with options, how quickly he could grab his blaster, the distance to close the gap between him and his target, how accurately could he hit them with a wrist dart.

But for all the calculations swirling in his mind what he came out with was far more boring and frankly a little embarrassing.

"Uhhh just a maintenance check on the door?" his words fell flat as even he seemed to question himself.

CAPTAIN RONHAR TANE, TK-3301
PLEXIS, SIN CITY NIGHTCLUB
OBJECTIVE: FIND AN EMPLOYEE

Ronhar had decided that this charade of his had gone on long enough.

Before Armel Akahl Armel Akahl could blow the door, or make an approximate attempt at doing so, Ronhar simply opened the door for him. He was just as impressive a specimen as Ronhar had been told, albeit perhaps one a bit more on the clumsy side. The security footage that had recorded Armel when he walked in would attest to that. Still, he was a powerful warrior from what Ronhar could gather, and someone Ronhar would surely want on his side...assuming he was willing, of course.

"Uhhh just a maintenance check on the door?"

Ronhar let the silence in the air linger on for just a few more seconds.

"Eight minutes and 23 seconds", Ronhar stated, neither approvingly or disapprovingly. "From the moment you entered this establishment to where we are now, it took you approximately eight minutes and 23 seconds to clear this little test of mine. My ARC Troopers could have done that in half the time it took you to do so, but...considering you're on your own, its not bad for a solo operation. Of course, your breaching attempts leave something to be desired", Ronhar noted dryly as he glanced at the shoddy breaching effort Armel had been about to engage in. From what he had planted, it would have been more than enough to blow the door...and both Ronhar and Armel up in the resulting explosion that would occur from brute forcing such a large blasting charge without properly accounting for its explosive content first. There was a reason why Imperial doctrine preferred pre-measured blasting charges instead of eyeballing it when out in the field. But then again, Armel was likely desperate, and from someone who grew up on Mahporeem, Ronhar could appreciate the ingenuity born from such desperation, as misguided as it may have been.

"You have potential, I'll give you that. Though someone unable to adjust on the fly is not someone I want representing my organization. But you're very much someone who's never let that stop you now, have you? Considering the tragedy that befell your brethren, I'd say you've adapted remarkably well, haven't you know? And luckily for you, that's exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for at the moment."

Ronhar gestured for Armel to come inside, where a small table had been set up with drinks and other refreshments.

"Why don't you come and take a seat, after which we can discuss the new terms of your employment", Ronhar stated a matter of factly. "After all, you're certainly looking for work, aren't you now?"

Armel squinted as his visor adjusted to the bright light of the strongroom. His eyes settled on the armoured figure sat behind the table. As Ronhar finished talking Armel took time to study the man, noting the jet black armour and extensive cybernetics. Armel's own cybernetic arm whirred and his wrist spun in place.

"And I thought I was bad..." he whispered to himself.

Armel stood up to his full height and took a step into the strongroom. In the light the battle damage of his dull blue armour became clear with some pieces completely absent. Dangling from his shoulder was a Wookie braid, a trophy from battles past.

"Imperial." He replied, whether he meant it as a greeting or a slur was unclear. "I spent a small fortune on that blaststick expecting to find a bigger one behind these doors. Instead of being greeted by cantona of credits I find... you."

He took a seat before unholstering his blaster pistol and dropping it on the table. "The drink better be good."

Unclipping the blastweave hood and removing his helmet revealed a merlot coloured face scarred with small cuts. His hair unusually for Zeltrons was buzzed. While the usual fun loving demeanor of his kind replaced by sullen eyes and a grimace there was still an air of mischief that surrounded him.

"I see the reputation of my brethren has given you the idea that I am for sale." he said leaning back in his chair.

Armel Akahl Armel Akahl certainly wasn't amused to see Ronhar or probably any sort of Imperial standing where his ill gotten loot should have been. His words made that much rather clear, even if his tone didn't.

"Imperial I spent a small fortune on that blaststick expecting to find a bigger one behind these doors. Instead of being greeted by cantona of credits I find... you."

"And I assure you that you will be adequately compensated for your time, effort and expended equipment", Ronhar replied cooly.

"The drink better be good."

The bottle of Corellian Brandy sat next to a pair of glasses with ice in them. Granted, the bottle was really more of a set dressing than anything else, and Ronhar had no intention of serving Armel any serious amounts of alcohol tonight. But, a drink or two would help to make negotiations between him and Ronhar all the more easier. And from the way Armel looked, it seemed that he could certainly use a sip himself. He sat down, his eyes sullen and expression sour, though given the surprise Ronhar had given the man Ronhar could hardly blame him.

"I see the reputation of my brethren has given you the idea that I am for sale."

"But...you are for sale", Ronhar countered nonchalantly as he took a seat besides Armel. "Otherwise, you wouldn't have taken this job in the first place. You wouldn't have spent so much time and energy trying to break into this location if you didn't truly need the credits. Of course, It seems that I've thrown a bit of a wrench into your plan, haven't I?", Ronhar stated dryly. "But then again, this is really no way to live know, it is? Day to day, paycheck to paycheck, always searching from some sort of reliable income, not wanting to think about the alternative should you fail to find it. Wouldn't you much rather have that reliable source of income? A guaranteed way to ensure that you're able to support yourself? Your comrade Gel Karn Gel Karn has already taken us off on our offer. Why not join him?", Ronhar suggested as he swirled his drink around in its glass, though he kept his helmet on and didn't attempt to take a sip. It wasn't that the brandy was poisoned or anything, but Ronhar wanted to maintain as much of an edge as he could in this negotiation.

Then again, he did happen to have a few more tricks up his sleeve...

As the first drink was poured Armel knocked it straight back without so much as a grimace. He pushed his cup towards the bottle as if to ask for more.

"Do not mistake me for some common mercenary Imp. Do not mistake this..." he said motioning with arms to the strongroom. "As a means of mere sustenance."

"I am a Neo-Crusader, my allegiance lies solely with the true Mandalore Carduul Akahl Carduul Akahl and every action I take is to further the worship of war. This Gel Karn you mention. You call him my comrade but if he has so quickly given himself up for credits then I see no reason to refer to him as such." The fanatic's words were full of fire.

He then reclined himself in his chair and his eyes narrowed on the cybrog as if he was studying him, or perhaps where he had come from. After an awkward minute of silence Armel spoke again, this time his tone was far softer and a look of mischief appeared in his eyes.

"Besides, my price is too high for you Imperial."

Armel Akahl Armel Akahl knocked back his drink in one smooth motion, and Ronhar quickly obliged him with another pour of the brandy that he had brought with him

"Do not mistake me for some common mercenary Imp. Do not mistake this...as a means of mere sustenance. I am a Neo-Crusader, my allegiance lies solely with the true Mandalore Carduul Akahl and every action I take is to further the worship of war. This Gel Karn you mention. You call him my comrade but if he has so quickly given himself up for credits then I see no reason to refer to him as such. Besides, my price is too high for you Imperial."

"I see", Ronhar replied calmly, taking particular note of the way Armel had said the word "Imp" when talking to Ronhar. Clearly, the man had some sort of history or at least negative opinions of Imperials in general, though whether or not that specifically extended to Mahporeem still remained to be seen. At the very least, the fact that he as at least entertaining this conversation with Ronhar was a good sign, despite his declaration to the contrary.

"And where exactly is this ' Carduul Akahl Carduul Akahl ' you speak of?", Ronhar asked of the Neo-Crusader. "Is he nearby? Do you even had any idea of his location? And even if you did, how exactly do you intend to support him and his endeavors? Perhaps you have some Force Powers that I don't know about? Maybe you intend to support him with good intentions and well wishes then? Or maybe you've decided you're going to go out in a blaze of glory as one final act of service to your Mand'alor?", he finished, the word rolling off his tounge.

"My point is, as you are, you are in no real position to support anyone, despite what you may believe or may try to tell yourself. We've learned that painful lesson ourselves many times over. How exactly do you plan on fighting the Sith when you cannot even support yourself? And don't assume we could not afford your services", Ronhar added, gesturing to the corner of the room, which up until this point had been shrouded in darkness. The lights suddenly flickered on, revealing a full set of Kintsugi-class Beskargam placed upon a standing training dummy.

"Your 'former' comrade Gel Karn Gel Karn helped us create this for your Mandalorian brothers and sisters who managed to flee the advancing Sith forces. After all, their retreat is not the end of their journey, but rather the beginning of a new chapter in their fight against the Sith Order and Sith Covenant. I believe you call this 'Beskar'gam' in your language, no? Why don't you take a look at it? Consider it a gift from us to you, take whatever you want off from it to use for yourself, or don the entire armor as you see fit", Ronhar suggested, waiting to see what Armel would think of the gift Ronhar was giving him.

Armel smirked as Tane finally retaliated against the Zeltron's incessant verbal jabbing, this time pointing out Armel's situation and his lack of control of it. Then he brought out the Beskar'gam. Armel's eyes glinted at the sit for just a moment before a sly grin and look of mischief returned.

"Still trying to buy me with material goods then. You understood little of my people, and when I say my people I mean this." He said slamming his helmet against the table, the Neo-crusader motif clear as day. "Not those heretics who occupy Mandalore, the cowards selling their blaster for pocket change, or any other who would deign to follow another banner."

The zeal in his voice grew louder with every word. "If Mandalore commanded me to walk into the crowd out there and blow myself up I would. War in his name is my only purpose. No matter where am I, or how insignificant you may perceive my actions, as long as I commit to reighteous and holy war then I am content."

The air around him grew warm, the aura of a madman, a fanatic, or perhaps just pheromones. His smile contrasted so sharply with the scars that seemed to misshape his face.

He placed a holopuck on the table. "This is my price. If you can afford this, then I will truly be impressed."

Faces began to flash in front of Ronhar, not of strangers but of Mahporeem Imperials. Director Asara of the Science Division, the cyborg Zavik, Sith in service of the Imperials.

"I want their heads."
