Neo-Crusader
Sin City Nightclub - Zenowai Crime Society Turf - Plexis
Flashing purple strobes, the continuous drumbeat of the baseline and melodies roaring from instruments he could not even conceive was an attack on his senses like no other. Armel had never been to a nightclub before and it was an experience so alien to the warrior. Yet despite how on edge he was he felt a pull out into the sea of sentients swaying with the music. Perhaps something biological, an innate desire felt by all Zeltrons.
He would never find out, at least not tonight. He had far more pressing matters.
He pulled himself away from the tinted glass of the sky lounge which overlooked the dance floor. With the Covenant retreat from the core those who remained no longer had the Mythosaur fleet to live off of. He knew some who resorted to mercenary work, in the midst of war the underworld was thriving and there was plenty of work to be had. But Armel could never quite grasp the idea of working for the syndicates, why kowtow to the crime lords when you could just take what you need. That was the Neo-crusader way after all.
Armel felt along the wall of the lounge until he came across an inconspicuous blast door which led to what he could only assume was the strongroom. From his belt he pulled out a lump of blaststick which he rolled into a ball before pressing it flat against the door. Next came the detonator, the explosive caps pushed into where the blaststick was thickest and wired to a small powerpack which he let dangle from the wire.
Armel took a moment to appreciate his work. He let out a deep sigh knowing full well what the Rallymasters on Dxun would have done to him if he tried to present this shoddy excuse for a breaching charge to them.
"Well I tried my best." he whispered to himself, reasoning to an empty room.
He pulled out the detonator switch from his belt and began wiring it to the power pack, steady hands doing there best to not to prematurely detonate the charge and redecorate the wall with his fingers. It nearly became a reality when the double doors to the sky lounge opened. To say the sudden oppressing sound of music and light flooding into the dim lounge made the crusader jump was an understatement.
As the adrenaline rush of nearly blowing himself to smithereens passed he quickly realised he now had to contend with whoever decided to interrupt his little heist as a silhouette now stood in the door frame. His mind was flooded with options, how quickly he could grab his blaster, the distance to close the gap between him and his target, how accurately could he hit them with a wrist dart.
But for all the calculations swirling in his mind what he came out with was far more boring and frankly a little embarrassing.
"Uhhh just a maintenance check on the door?" his words fell flat as even he seemed to question himself.
