The Shard have for long been confined to Orax, or few in number across the stars. But calamity has an odd way of bringing beings together -- the gulag plague brought many Shard onto a single journey through the stars while the rest suffered. They alone watched as the galaxy crumbled, and they alone stumbled across a vast fleet of hidden Sith warships.
Pity at the suffering of others turned to twisted pleasure.
The Vashtori Ascendancy is built upon the fundamental belief that the Shard are a superior form of being, whether in the form of a massive colony or a single Shard encased in a droid body. Other beings do not have the same capacity for greatness, patience, power -- while their efforts may be admirable, all shall be felled one way or another.
Lead by the Balmora, an infinitely powerful Shard, the Vashtori shall bend the galaxy to their will.
The Vashtori Ascendancy is a rigidly hierarchical faction, heavily relying on the dark side and slavery. The Vashtori, while not evil, are naturally inclined to oppose nearly every other group in the galaxy due to their central belief that they are superior than their galactic neighbours. Based out of a massive fleet of ancient Sith warships, the faction will strike out against their perceived enemies.
