GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION
LOCATION INFORMATION
  • Capital City: Yoth (Hope)
  • Planetary Features: New Dac is a salt water ocean planet. Its only land mass is an archipelago of volcanic islands that have risen over time from a shallow point of the ocean floor, emerging from the waves in the form of steep, rocky spires. These spires support the entirety of New Dac's limited terrestrial life. Beneath the surface, however, there are countless underwater biomes and an abundant variety of aquatic wildlife.
  • Major Locations:
Yoth (Hope) - Bastion of the Mon Calamari

The mostly submerged city of the planet's Mon Cal refugees was built using the very starships they had used to flee their ancestral homeland when the Sith Empire invaded. Hundreds of repurposed frigates, cruisers and other vessels have been merged together to make up the underwater cityscape, providing shelter and security for its citizens. At the core of the makeshift metropolis is a single Viscount-class Star Defender, once the flagship of the vagrant fleet, which has been similarly reconditioned to serve as a grand central spire that connects Yoth's districts together and protrudes from the ocean surface to provide a more convenient means of access for non-aquatic visitors.

Koryū - The City of the Sleeping Dragons
1Aykd1B.png
Thousands of years before the Galactic Alliance of the 860s would rediscover it, Kansai explorers from Atrisia were the first to chart New Dac's beautiful oceanscape, referred to by them as Su Shi. Seeing great potential in the planet's untapped wilderness, they sent colonists to settle along its only land; an archipelago of volcanic spires they called the _____. The Atrisians build vertical towns along the jagged surfaces and floating cities on the waves, slowly overcoming the challengers faced on their new waterworld home. But the galaxy would change over the centuries through war and calamity. After the devastation of the Yuuzhan Vong, Su Shi had become almost entirely isolated from the galaxy. By the end of the Gulag Plague, and after being ravaged by a planetary disaster of their own in the form of earthquakes triggering great tsunamis around 600ABY, the planet and its migrant population were all but forgotten. In the present day only a single remnant of the ancient Atrisian civilization remains: Koryū, the City of the Sleeping Dragons. The dreary and decrepit settlement is built almost entirely of salvaged materials and hugs the largest of _____'s rock spires, acting as a trade hub for the fishing villages scattered across the islands surrounding it.

_____ - Lair of the Ancient Ones

The deepest point of New Dac's planetwide sea is found at the bottom of an oceanic trench referred to by the local Mon Calamarian immigrants as the Gulom Abyss. Hidden somewhere along the great world wound is the only entrance to the _____, a vast underwater cavern system that acts as the sole breeding ground for the planet's ancient Leviathans. These few but powerful beings rarely desire for interaction with other species and are extremely territorial of this sacred place. For those who brave the fury of the Ancient Ones, it is said that rare and powerful Pontite crystals grow within, and that precious gemstones litter the cavern floor in abundance. Despite the risk, some Kansai of the _____ villages tell stories of the planet's deep sea guardians sharing extraordinary secrets with those they deem worthy of their knowledge. This secret, unknown to all but a select handful over the millennia, is a colony of Pakoukou located at the heart of the _____.

Large Reef
FORCE NEXUS
  • Intent: to add a relatively benign force anomaly to the planet for flavour and roleplay opportunities.
  • Nexus Name: [ Name of the nexus if applicable. ]
  • Nexus Alignment: Neutral
  • Size: Medium
  • Strength: Strong
  • Accessibility: The _____’s location is isolated from the scant societies of the planet and is completely unguarded, making it easily accessible to anyone with the means of detecting and reaching it. A trained force sensitive should be able to sense the presence of the force nexus within ~100km, and have little difficulty discerning its exact location deep beneath the ocean.
  • Effects: The force nexus emits an empathic aura that partially connects the minds of those present with one-another. Living beings within range will experience varying degrees of emotional and mental binding with all other entities present inside the aura, sentient or not. Wildlife travelling through the nexus or living within its boundaries are often peaceful and cooperative, regardless of their typical nature, resulting in peculiar multi-species colonies across the affected area. Visitors may find themselves better able to understand each other and the fauna surrounding them in a deep, non-verbal manner. In addition, extreme bouts of exposure to the nexus (well beyond the average lifespan of most sentient and non-sentient species) may result in the development of sentience, as was the case for the cousin species of whaladon & pakoukou native to the planet.
POPULATION
  • Native Species:
  • Immigrated Species:
  • Population: Sparse
  • Demographics:
  • Primary Languages:
  • Culture: The sapient aquatic natives of New Dac lack much of a culture by galactic standards. Their ways of life are far more akin to wild animals; traveling through the planetwide ocean based on necessity rather than any discernible desire. The Kansai immigrants have adapted to a maritime culture, as fishing and sailing are vital to their survival in such an inhospitable environment. The people live simple lives and mostly survive on bare necessities, trading their goods and services among eachother to get what they need. The previously vagrant refugees of the Mon Calamarian homeworld live much the same as they had in the Outer Rim, albeit more uniformly focused. Unified by their desire to reclaim and rebuild their home, most of the Mon Cala refugees channel their energy into the production of starships and technology so that they may one day return and fight off the Sith-Imperial occupation.
GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government: Dac Government-in-Exile
  • Affiliation: Galactic Alliance
  • Wealth: Medium - Because the population of New Dac is quite small the economy has proven easy to maintain. Having been isolated from the galaxy for centuries, the few surviving groups descending from the ancient Atrisian settlers who first discovered the world exist quietly in small meritocratic societies that typically prefer to barter their goods and services over exchanging currency. In contrast, the recently arrived Mon Cala exiles receive their funding almost entirely from offworld; mostly through federal aid from the Galactic Alliance and a steady supply of contracts to produce starships & components for the Galactic Alliance Defense Force & civilian market.
  • Stability: High - New Dac is a world of focus, commitment and sheer will. The few Atrisian clans that remain exist in a harmonious balance with themselves and the world around them. They have endured generations of galactic isolation and a planetary calamity of their own, but have managed to persevere with their determination and cooperation. Similarly, the Mon Cala refugees are united by their desire to survive and, someday, reclaim their homeland from the clutches of the Sith Empire. Between the sparse population, their collaborative nature, and the oversight and assistance offered by the Galactic Alliance, the planet exists in a rare-to-find state of peace.
  • Freedom & Oppression: [ Describe the atmosphere of freedom on this planet. Are the people fairly free or is oppression of society and commerce heavy? Does it have a dictatorial ruler? Is fear of the ruling body prevalent? Relaxed and open? Is anything unusual illegal or permitted? ]
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
  • Military: Insubstantial - The sentient species that are native to New Dac are mostly primitive and disorganized, lacking any sort of concept of society whatsoever. The immigrated populations, while capable, are far too sparse to field a meaningful military force. The few remaining Atrisian clans that have survived galactic isolation have lived in relative peace for centuries. Despite having a few remaining warships from their vagrant fleet and a solid percentage of ex-navy among them, the current focus of the Mon Cala refugees is on shipbuilding and establishing their new colony.
  • Technology: [ A description of how technologically advanced the planet is relative to the galaxy. If there is nothing of note, simply put ‘Galactic Standard’. ]
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

[ Include a history of the planet here. Be sure to cover the following information:
How was the planet discovered? How was the planet settled? When was it settled? Why was it settled? What major events specific to the planet helped shape its inhabitants to what they are today? If there is a Nexus, how did it come about and how did it influence the history of the planet?

Remember that these custom planets may be submitted the map for the community to enjoy. The more background you set down, the more clearly others will be able to understand your view of your creation. ]
