ADVANCED SYSTEMS

  • Fast-Tracking Guns (Ion Cannons/Short-range turbolasers): Fast-tracking mounts on these light capital guns allows them to better track and fire upon small craft such as starfighters, tramp freighters, and other small craft.
  • 220-SIG Tactical Sensor Jamming Devices: The Neutron Star II-series has multiple 220-SIG Sensor Jamming emplacements which have some overlapping fields, making it a fairly capable ECM platform for jamming sensors and communications devices.
  • Ranger Subspace Transceiver with Comm Unit booster: This augmented communications device was designed to allow the Neutron Star II to communicate with friendly forces even through its own broad-spectrum communication's jamming, but it can be similarly effective at piercing through opposing communications jamming, especially if the opposing jamming platform is relatively far away from the Neutron Star II.
  • KL-44 Commander Shield Projector network: All three of the Neutron Star II's shield layers are entirely composed of KL-44 Shield Projector networkss, which allows the Neutron Star II to provide additional shielding to multiple nearby, friendly ships.

STRENGTHS
  • Bulwark: The Neutron Star II-series Bulk Freighter was made with defense in mind. Multi-layered shielding with rapid regeneration abilities provides the cruiser with excellent resilience, which is backed up by thick hull plating and an ion shield generator for additional protection.
  • Support Cruiser: The Neutron Star II is designed as a fleet support ship, providing additional abilities and supplementary support to friendly ships, whether its by jamming enemy sensors, providing additional shield strength, or deploying different types of mines or drones.
WEAKNESSES
  • Slow: As with the original design, the Neutron Star II remains a moderately slow vessel with speeds more comparable to that used by commercial cargo ships than through purpose-built warships.
  • Poor Maneuverability: Maneuverability on the Neutron Star II is sometimes regarded as a joke. The ship's helm is slow to respond and its turning radius has been described ironically as "generous".
DESCRIPTION
The Neutron Star II-series Bulk Cruiser is CorelliSpace's reimagined version of the old Neutron Star Bulk Cruiser. CorelliSpace enlarged the original hull somewhat, largely in order to accommodate newer and less maintenance-intensive sublight engines to correct the most major flaw of the original design. Seeking to complement the Terrik-series Attack Frigate, CorelliSpace made their redesign focus on extraordinary durability and incorporating abilities to augment friendly vessels. The Neutron Star II is best at home in the middle of a friendly fleet, acting as a shield to smaller vessels, jamming enemy comms and sensors, and buffing friendly forces with mines and drones.
