SPECIAL FEATURES
Strengths:
  • Killing machine. The Neutraliser is incredibly strong, lethal, and intelligent. It is adaptive and able to think tactically. As the droids feel no pain they can use their bodies as weapons or to smash through barriers.
  • The unit is optimised to protect the most crucial components of droids, namely their circuits. To this end, this design utilises a combination of Pyronium and more commonly available droid components. This provides excellent protection against EMP, electricity and ion attacks, the most common hazards a droid faces. Indeed, the attacks that would normally harm the machine empower it. This is because the energy is absorbed by the Pyronium and subsequently diverted to specialised converters, to feed its hardware and software applications.
  • Laminanium and Phylactery droids grant it self-healing qualities. The Laminanium is good at regenerating from blaster and slugthrower weapons within minutes. More extreme damage takes less than a day.
  • A multispectrum diguise suite has been incorporated into the droid. It is comparable to the one utilised by the TC-SC Infiltration Droid as well as the Sith Training Droid. In short, it allows the droid to alter its exterior appearance. Due to this and other items incorporated into the machine, it can also alter its voice.
Weaknesses:
  • Absorptive qualities of Pyronium have their limitations. Being within the radius of a big EMP or ion bomb is still hazardous.
  • The unit is powerful, but not invulnerable. Heavy blaster attacks and explosions can damage. Its lightsabre resistance is minor, covering glancing blows and lazy sweeps, but not full-on contact. Glowstick wielders remain a threat.
  • The Laminanium is of limited help against massive amounts of damage. It is better at repairing small penetrations or cuts, but less effective against severe blows, explosions and heavy weapons. Even with the Phylactery drones, the Chimaera is not invulnerable.
  • There's only a dozen of them.
  • Its holographic disguise capabilities are not infallible. A holodisruptor can, as the name implies, disrupt them. Moreover, it must be kept in mind that while the droid may be able to change its appearance, its weight remains the same. Depending on the individual it is trying to imitate, this is something that can raise red flags. In the end, the disguise suite is just a hologram and very high-end scans may see through it. Moreover, while the droid can mimic a humanoid being, it is still made of metal, which scanners could pick up. Finally, imitating the appearance of another being does not give one the knowledge to emulate their behaviour. The Neutraliser is a very intelligent and adaptive model, but its disguise capabilities are better suited at temporarily fooling foes in order to get into position to complete its mission, say an assassination, or conversely get away rather than more extended infiltration missions. These are best left to dedicated infiltration models, such as HRDs.
DESCRIPTION

The Neutraliser represents an upgraded version of the Reaper Assassin Droid, but with an even more limited production run. Like the Reaper, this model is inspired by the venerable YVH 1 model that was utilised against Yuuzhan Vong centuries ago, as well as newer models that have seen action since the end of the Dark Age. The model takes advantage of the resources Enyo has acquired since assuming direct control of Archangel. Like the Reaper, it utilises plating composed of Laminanium. The other components, materials and gadgets are also the same. Like the IG-100 Magnaguards and the Reaper, it also has a backup droid brain and backup photoreceptor in the chest area, allowing it to keep fighting after being beheaded, albeit with reduced efficacy.

The key divergence from its parent model lies in the use of specialised Pyronium-Vonium circuits. In that regard the design is inspired by the Malediction HRDs. Like the Malediction, the Neutraliser follows the design principle that the most important thing about a droid is not the chassis it walks in and uses to interact with the world around it, but the circuits and memory software that enable it to think and perform any action in the first place. Thus the Archangel designers focused on fortifying the units' internal circuitry, memory core and software protocols. To this end, they incorporated Pyronium, taking advantage of its highly absorptive qualities, as well as more conventional gadgets such as Ionization Buffers.

The Neutraliser is programmed to be very skilled in the use of a variety of melee and ranged weapons. It also receives extensive tactical programming. This makes it a very capable combatant and allows it to assume leadership roles in droid forces. Archangel prefers to utilise HRDs to coordinate large scale military operations, but the Neutraliser is well-suited for battlefield command or leadership of small teams. It is an assassin and battle droid of a highly advanced level. It can act as a host for Infiltrator Scarab drones. Once released, these drones are a useful tool for infiltrators and spies, as they can get around sensors and have slicer programming. However, they only have a limited battery life. Moreover, the Infiltrator Scarab only has a memory dump, but no way to transmit on its own.

The droid is capable of operating independently or as part of a team. It can process data at a rapid rate and react accordingly, becoming more dangerous with every fight. Sophisticated anti-malware protocols and anti-slicing countermeasures make it very difficult to tamper with the units' programming, overwrite their core functions or otherwise turn them against their controllers. Fast, strong and intelligent, they are lethal killing units. However, prolonged blaster fire will have an effect. Explosions and heavy blaster weapons such as e-webs, rotary cannons can still cause significant damage.

Like its parent model, the Neutraliser does not carry in-built weapons' systems. Admittedly, anything can become a weapon if used by a droid, including its own body. Between the numerous alloys and components utilised to construct the droid, not to mention the various addons, it was decided to forego in-built weapons systems beyond small blades. This leaves the droid as more of an all-around assassin droid that can be equipped with a variety of armaments depending on mission parametres. It is capable of wearing suits of armour above its mechanical form. The Neutraliser has recently been upgraded with a comprehensive multispectrum disguise suite. The ability to alter its outward appearance and voice enhances its lethality as an assassin.
