Negotiations [ Archais Authority & The Galactic Alliance ]

A fortnight after the meeting with the King of Archais - [member="Zeradias Mant"], the two men had gathered once again at the same meeting chamber awaiting the emissaries of the Galactic Alliance. The Five Ruling Houses had been notified of their arrival and engaged in providing a hospitality service of superior level to the arrivals.

The best wines and consumables were present at the chamber while staff eagerly awaited the arrival of the Galactic Alliance diplomacy envoys. The large rectangular table was fit for enough people and Haedric had already taken his place on a chair adjacent to the chair of the King. His mind shuffled through all the information his brokers were able to gather on contemporary events and he felt, as always, well prepared.

The Lord of House Forgrin patiently awaited the arrival of those that the Archais Authority had invited for a diplomatic meeting.

Aela stepped off the shuttle dressed in simple Jedi robes painted a drab beige. Her hair was tied back into a single long braid, her lips were thinned in consideration and her bright orange eyes were set forward on the scene before her. She had never been to this world, and in truth she struggled to recall learning it's history when she'd been asked to come here, but a simple trip to the Archives on Sullust had been enough to remind her of this worlds history. Jamie was somewhere behind her, her padawan tagging along on the diplomatic missions to experience a little bite more of galactic politics first hand.

She was here of course because of the greater roll she was now playing within the Alliance.

Whereas before Aela had been more of a sledgehammer used by the Alliance in the front of invasions and other attacks, she was now taking a more...simply place in things. Her work with the SIS and her taking on a Padawan and been signs of growing maturity, and quickly as she grew the Grand Marshall had recognized this. Couple that with the New Jedi Order's expanding roll as a diplomatic entity as well as a marshal one things just fell into place.

Thus Aela was here to speak with those that called upon the Galactic Alliance.

The young woman drew herself up, a heavy breath passing through her as she began her trek down the landing ramp and towards wherever they were meeting.

Members of the 5th Legion followed behind her, unarmed save for blaster pistols strapped to their thighs. Though their hosts had shown no aggression towards them and Aela had argued against it, the Supreme Commander had insisted that she take some guards. It seemed a tad redundant to her, given her rank as Jedi Master, but perhaps it was simply a display of security, a way for the Alliance to say 'we trust you, but we'd rather not send out diplomats in blind'. There was no insult in the guards, just a careful wall of protection.

It was time. The Galactic Alliance had been quick to respond dispatched dignitaries to meet with those of Archais. Legitimacy was on their doorstep, they need only to grasp it. Normally, Zera would have a representative greet guests as they arrived, but this was too important to pawn off to some no name fool. Plus, the king personally greeting his guests would show humility, which he was sure would go a fair way in winning the Alliance officials over. He strode through the halls of the castle, making his way to the landing pad. He was accompanied by four of his household guard, the standard size escort detail for the king. As the corridor ended, he reached the landing pad they were expecting company at. Two of his guards posted on both sides of the opening that led onto the pad, with the other two still behind Zera. Not only did they provide security, but also the intricate detail of their armor showed if only the tiniest snippet of Archais history to those with a sharp enough eye.

He waited by the landing pad, as one of the Galactic Alliance vessels landed. Disembarking was a woman clad in Jedi robes no doubt, followed by an armed entourage. It set him off slightly - did the Alliance have other plans for Alsakan? Then he saw the armed guards carrying only pistols and he relaxed a bit more. If they had intended to seize the system, they'd have a lot more than just pistols.

As they approached, he made his greeted the dignitary. "Welcome to Alsakan.", he started with a nod, his hands clasped together in front of him. "Will there be others joining us?", he asked, not knowing completely what the Galactic Alliance delegation might entail.

Where was Jamie? Oh, you know...Late. Even on a ship as small as it was, she couldn't get her act together to be on time. Aela was already down the ramp and being greeted by their host while Jamie was pulling the shirt over her head while simultaneously attempting to step into a pair of shoes, an act she'd come to be quite good at, given the number of times she'd had to practice it. Any time she was expected to meet with dignitaries from other worlds back home the process of getting ready became the definition of impossible. Self-image was important on Naboo. And while she had little frame of reference out here, she felt it was still equally important. Unfortunately she was out of time, and so the fifteenth wardrobe change was the last. The girl quickly patted herself down one last time and made sure she looked presentable to whoever it was they were to meet with.

Gosh, what was their name again!? I knew I should have re-read the file again!

The girl looked to the table where her lightsaber sat, her tongue flicking back and forth a few times in contemplation. Nah.

Turning she raced through the inner corridors of the ship towards the ramp. Aela appeared to already be engaged with a man of regal character. The blonde shuffled quickly behind and through the guards to Aela's side, a step behind. It looked as though one of the 5th legion members had stayed behind as an escort for the girl, and had to quickly chase her as she ran through the ship and down the ramp, as he appeared shortly after Jamie.

"Sorry about that. I was delayed."

"No." Aela began with a cordial smile. "It's just us."

She gave a short bow. "Thank you for the welcome."

Aela had not exactly been trained in diplomacy, but she knew well enough how to conduct herself at these sorts of events. Her father had always told her she had a sort of royal bearing to her, and she knew well enough what events like this required. It also helped that her own father had been a part of the Galactic Republic Senate, and that her mother had been a Jedi Master for as long as Aela had been alive. To say that she was well suited for this task was an understatement.

"Shall we go inside?" The suggestion was offered as a gust of wind tussled her robes.

Jamie quickly ran up behind her, eager to see what was going on and to be a part of the conversation. She and her Padawan had not been together for the longest time yet, but Jamie had quickly proven herself to be able and intelligent. Two qualities that Aela was proud to see.

Zeradias Mant

Us? Zera only saw one Galactic Alliance representative. Upon taking a few glances behind her, he saw a younger, more eager Jedi approaching and apologized for her tardiness. Zera couldn't tell if it was to him or her master, but he paid no mind. The brief delay was of no concern to him, and he welcomed the enthusiasm a younger soul would have brought to the table. So often politics was regarded as a dull affair, but it was anything but to Zeradias. Politics were battles fought with words and policies, often times playing a bigger role in the galaxy that war itself.

As the senior Jedi notioned for them to go inside, Zera nodded and turned to lead them inside. His domain had almost a primitive feel to it, yet it maintained the elegance of fine Coruscanti architecture. Paintings and digital projection screens occasionally covered the walls, displaying historic feats such as the Pius-Dea Crusades and the great Alsakan Conflicts. Before long, they entered the chambers of the Small Council, with the good Hand of the King seated in his usual spot immediately to the left of the far end of the table - just right of the king's seat.

As Zera walked to the table, he stopped at the length of it to pour himself a glass of wine. It was there if their guests chose to partake, the extra glasses serving as an unspoken offer. As he poured, he introduced the other man in the room.

"This is Lord Haedric Forgrin, the Hand of the King.", he said as he set the wine pitcher down, tilting his head in the Hand's direction. Zera then took his seat at the head of the table, to Forgrin's left, and introduced himself.

"I am Zeradias Mant, King of Archais."

Sorry! I didn't realize it was my turn to post!

Jamie followed the man as he lead she and Aela through the halls, her eyes cast upon the architectural simplicity that was even somewhat reminiscent of her home back on Naboo. Simple yet elegant. It was something that she sorely missed, and this place sort of brought that feeling back for her. There was a faint smile on her face as she took in the sights, stopping only once they reached the council chamber. The blonde noted the rather long table with several glasses and wine that Zeradias began to help himself to.

Jamie remained silent until the introductions were done, choosing to offer the respect of those elder than her their words first. There was a low bow of her head and a bend to her knees as was customary.

"Lord Forgrin, King Archais."

Would she be at home on Naboo she would have felt more sure of following with her own Lady title, given her own nobility, though she wasn't entirely sure how things worked on this planet. "Jamie Pyne."

The silent offer of wine did not go unnoticed. That was something, regardless of being at home or not, she could hardly pass up. The blonde strode leisurely towards the table and poured herself a glass before returning to Aela's side.

"It's an honor to meet you."
