Faction Navis Sacra Bonding Ritual | Burtch & Shii-Cho

Issac Hafey

Guest
I
There was a voice beside him as his head slowly turned. He strangely wore a pair of glasses, almost as if it was for looks but anyone looking closely could see a data stream going through them, as if they were made for some strange optical reasons in transmission with data. Staring towards the Wookiee as the ceremony went on, one eye glanced to the ceremony ongoing and the other towards the strange person in question.

"Perhaps both...I am here to honor a commitment. The Hafey line...if you could call it that, has kept great interest in Burtch himself."

As the ceremony commenced, the joining of two minds, the human looking individual kept silent for a while as this whole ceremony between the twins and the other two went on. Being rather quiet in his whispers, he slowly explained himself as he had eyes on him since he had entered, one more noteworthy to keep an eye on was one of the Dobsons.

"Fret not...I am not of the revenge type. After all that occurred, after all the chaos that ensured...you could say he put it upon himself. His data was slightly corrupted since his inception in this galaxy, it just intensified for over a years worth of hatred which...in programming terms, became an obsession, like a compulsion to finish. No...he is gone and with it, part of an exhausting history is over with."

With his eyes now looking over the blinded one and a few guards, he then looked back forward carefully as he kept his whispers as the ceremony was soon concluding. Leaning to the side, he slowly picked up a few long tubes that resembled Haon Hafeys compulsion in meetings to carry around blueprints to write on at any given time, these seemed filled though as he placed them on the seat beside him.

"I am Issac Hafey, a shard he found on pure accident when he removed me from my environment. He took well care of me for a long period of time, I was separated from him when the Final Dawn and Haon had their little spat. I work as a cybernetic specialist now and engineer, I took some aspects of...I guess my step father in some aspects. I heard of you of course in messages but...he was almost far gone in the end."

"Now though...it is a bit quiet. Another of the Hafey Artificial Intelligence has awakened, do not worry, the data has long since been fixed...Angelus as he is called, is on the other side of the galaxy, apparently working for the Empire. Almost a repeat of the old programming to...least he knows he is a droid."

The ceremony had concluded now, there was applause as Issac got up to clap with them to be at least kind on every aspect. Glancing forward, he slowly stopped clapping after the applause was dying down and pushed up his glasses gently with another whisper.

"The tubes I safeguarded for most my life since he left me...they are now yours, for what he considered...Project Motherborne. What you do with them now, is entirely up to you. It is time to leave this part of this life behind, he done a lot of good but also a lot of harm. It is time to just go back to helping instead of harming."

Lori nodded a little to Kalic Daws Kalic Daws . She'd of responded, but Dorthea Dobson Dorthea Dobson was clearly intrigued by the man, so she let the two talk. There was plenty of time to chat later.

She glanced over her shoulder to see if Var-Sulis Var-Sulis was still nearby, and he was. It was good to see him alive and well, however she wasn't sure of what brought him there today. Was it the ceremony? Or a chance to see her? Lori could guess as to what the answer was, yet she didn't want to presume anything. No doubt Dorthea had spotted him too.

The twins seemed to call everyone's attention, so Lori gave them that. It was strange to see someone die in such a manner, especially someone that she knew. Treyfa loved jetpacks and the two flew around obe of her facilities and raced eachother. Those were great memories. In Lori's mind, she wondered if Treyfa was sick, her body dying of some life-ending disease. Maybe that was why she made this choice...

As the call to applaud was made, Lori got to her feet with the others and clapped. Once the sound faded, she spoke up. "For those that are wanting, there'll be tihaar being served at the nearest bar in Treyfa's honour. They'll be on the house." Whether or not Grand Shepherd Burtch Grand Shepherd Burtch would be up for it, she wasn't sure. But her guess was that he wasn't. Lori made it a point to remember to send him a bottle anways, in the next day or two.

Kalic smirked a bit as Dorthea introduced herself and Lori, and ask him a few question in return.

“Yeah, I know Lori already, but it’s nice to meet you Dorthea. Name’s Kalic Daws, and…. Well I’m here because I’m curios. Plus he was one of the people that saved my life, so felt right to come.” He looked back as the ritual finished, and would start clapping when he heard the others. He could still see the strange Force connection, which was still strange to him. Burtch said he knew she was still there, but couldn’t hear her. He thought for a bit longer before hearing Lori mention drinks. Well… he wasn’t on any medication at the moment…. And not medics around to yell at him, plus he wasn’t flying any time soon…. Yep he was going.

“Well, if it’s on the house, ma’am,” he’d say, adding ma’am out of old habit. But he wasn’t going to say no. Plus it’d give more of a chance to catch up.

Keatoch

Vice Admiral of The Elysium Empire
A sacrifice!?

Such a thing was not illegal, and was in fact likely protected by The Elysium Constitution, but Keatoch was disgusted that his brother would participate in such a thing, even if the woman was somehow alive as these twins suggested. Keatoch simply watched, motionless. He was only here because it would be wrong not to. But this was absurd. It wasn't just ship-worshiping now. It was sacrifice leading to some kind of bonding which resembled marriage to Keatoch, except more literal.

Brother, what have you gotten yourself into?

Daro Roz’yrn

“150 years of getting shot at for a living”
Before Issac Hafey could reply, Daro watched Dorthea enter the room and move towards a blindfolded guest of some kind. Daro tried to shoot her a friendly wink, but she clearly did her best to ignore him. He grinned at that. He enjoyed trying to get under her skin, so he'd try again later.

As she began her own conversation with some attendees, some of which included Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun and Var-Sulis Var-Sulis , Daro's own conversation began to unfold with Issac Hafey’s response.

"Perhaps both...I am here to honor a commitment. The Hafey line...if you could call it that, has kept great interest in Burtch himself."

Pieces clicked into place as Issac spoke and Daro's gut churned a little. Sure, he was a little curious about the Hafey family's interest in the admiral, but the soldier inside of Daro immediately began to reflect more on the… young man's recent loss. On impulse, he shoved his curiosity of Issac's interest in Burtch aside and Daro chose to focus on something he knew all too well over the past 170 years he had lived: loss.

Daro Replied, "I am so sorry for your loss, Mr. Hafey. I don't know what this will mean to you, but I mean this with the highest respect when I say that I am the one that collected your father when he was… disassembled. Both times." He cringed outwardly as he couldn't think of a better word to use at this time. Daro was certainly not a wordsmith, but he pressed on as respectfully as he could, "the first time, he only just barely survived, and the second time… well, you know. Your father was an honourable man in my books, and for whatever it is worth to you, I was honoured to know him in the limited capacity that I did…" he felt a little pathetic in saying that. The most he had ever met Haon was once as a head in the Spindle System, and as a mangle eyeball at a trade summit. Daro had used the eye as a key in the hapolafey system, but it was something that Daro was not keen on telling the man before him. There was a sort of shame in using a dead hero's body parts as a mission item…

The ceremony seemed to proceed, but as a soldier, Daro felt a compulsion to dwell on this man's loss instead.

Daro nodded understanding and pretended to pay attention to the ceremony for a moment, while in thought. Finally, he said, "I'm an old Dornean soldier, so death is something that I understand all too well. It sounds like you knew him well, and you're definitely taking this better than most. I've lost all different sorts of people and no matter the personality, it seems that there was always something unfinished and unsaid. For someone as great and accomplished as Haon, I can only imagine how much more was incomplete."

Then, Issac Hafey pulled out some strange tubes and spoke again.

Daro briefly wondered if Issac was maybe trying to rationalize this new Angelus Hafey person as a replacement for his father. As they all stood to applaud the end of the ceremony, Daro considered that implication. In his own experience, one could not replace a lost loved one, even if the so-called replacement was an "improvement" in every conceivable way. Not to assume that Issac disliked Haon in any respect, but sometimes, it was the people you were the most disappointed in that you mourned the most when they were gone. One could mourn the loss of an enemy every bit as much as the loss of a friend. In mourning, the things left unfinished mattered more than the things that were appreciated.

But Issac spoke one last time:

"The tubes I safeguarded for most my life since he left me...they are now yours, for what he considered...Project Motherborne. What you do with them now, is entirely up to you. It is time to leave this part of this life behind, he done a lot of good but also a lot of harm. It is time to just go back to helping instead of harming."

Speechless, Daro accepted the tubes. He wouldn't bother looking at them; He wouldn't be able to make sense of them anyways. But it was always good to take care of unfinished business, and that was what Issac seemed to be trying to accomplish. Daro was genuinely curious about this… Project Motherborne, but Daro was also reminded of his own unfinished business to attend to.

"Thank you, Issac. I'll make sure this gets into the right hands, but I too have a… gift for you. If you'll wait here, I'll go get it for you."

Daro took the tubes and left the room, ignoring Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun ’s announcement of booze and a venue. Daro had no interest in taking up drinking ever again…

Moments later, he came back with a small box in hand and reapproached Issac. He then handed the tiny box to him with an awkward sort of reverence, "this… is all that remains of your father Haon, Issac. Even in death, he had some tricks up his sleeve, and he even helped me do some crazy stuff in the Hapolafey System, but as of now, he should be with his son. This belongs to you…"
