Corporate Shogun

"Trust me, stealing from Nakaioma is a bad idea."
Founded in 167BBY, NAKAIOMA has since become one of the galaxy's largest megacorporations. Ruled for over a thousand years by the Nakaioma Clan, the massive multinational conglomerate has since branched out into almost every possible venue of profits. And though primarily dealing in civilian services & goods, alongside manufacturing, the corporation has shown little hesitation in supplying the armed forces of the galaxy when it can reap a hefty profit, which it often does.
On the surface a friendly, pro-consumer entity with a squeaky clean record, those with familiarity in the corporate underworld know all too well about the rumors of persistent power struggles, in-fighting, intimidation, and criminal connections that surround the corporation. Over the years many have tried to make the firm's dirty secrets public, and over the years NAKAIOMA has covered its tracks using an army of lawyers, and in some cases, assassins.

In towering skyscrapers above the capital cities, and ecumenopolises of the galaxy, deals are made that affect the lives of trillions, in ways both big and small, for better and for worse. Credits are exchanged, and confidentiality forms are signed as men in expensive suits give their souls to the devil, and in doing so further his reach, and influence. After all, it's no lie, or holonet conspiracy that NAKAIOMA's influence is more intrusive than it should be. Across many worlds, both economic hubs, and undeveloped backwaters, you can find an officer of an NAKAIOMA-owned security agency, arresting a hooligan who has just robbed a NAKAIOMA-owned superstore, for its NAKAIOMA brand holotransmitters.
Often derided by its critics as the ultimate enemy of the public sector, over the many centuries it has been active, the vast conglomerate has sunk its tendrils deeper, and deeper into public services, and utilities. Maintaining hospitals, emergency services, supermarkets, shipping, parts of the holonet, banking, finance, the energy that fuels trillions of homes, and the raw materials that build entire cities. It is often said by the corporation that, "Wherever there is civilization, there is NAKAIOMA." Serving as both a statement of fact, with few exceptions, and as yet another in a long-line of ego-boosts for the family namesake.

Divided into eight primary subsidiaries, each on their own among the most powerful in their respective fields, the conglomerate overall employs tens of millions of personnel, excluding the additional millions of droids that it utilizes in its day-to-day operations. Unlike the subsidiary organization of many other conglomerates of a similar, or lesser scale, NAKAIOMA exercises a great deal of central control over its subsidiaries. While the corporations themselves are typically run in-part, or in-full by members of the family, with positions often fought for by Saro Nakaioma's children, and other relatives.
Almost since the dawn of the corporation, has in-fighting plagued the Nakaioma family. With the reign of Saro Nakaioma however, this has not only been permitted to continue, but encouraged. Seeing hyper competition as healthy, so long as it is productive. His children, and other members of the family having intentionally, or unintentionally organized themselves into unofficial factions based on allegiances, and views on how to run the business, and continuously vie for the family patriarch's attention, and for more power to be given to them in the running of the conglomerate. While sometimes productive, in that it brings out the potential of the family, it is certainly a surprise that no one has died yet.

The Nakaioma Family:
A life of luxury, decadence, and pleasure. The Nakaioma family is as expansive as it is famous, stretching across numerous branches, siblings, cousins, uncles, and children. Each with their own amount of corporate responsibility as is granted to them by the clan patriarch. Educated at the best universities, living in unfathomably beautiful homes, and with the entire galaxy as their oyster, one would think they'd have better things to do than spite and rival one another for even greater positions of power than the ones they already have, but apparently not. Kept in-check from escalating to full out confrontation by the patriarch, it is nevertheless a life of political manoeuvring, partying, and social networking with the elite of the galaxy.
The Special Agents:
Feared by criminals, corporate saboteurs, and simple cheapskates alike throughout inhabited space for their brutal efficiency, and their unrelenting pursuit of those who owe, or have otherwise wronged the conglomerate. The enforcers of NAKAIOMA bring their employers' determination for profit, and translate it to a language that better suits the messy field of underworld intimidation and murder. Different from the Corp's private security, and paramilitary services, these enforcers are third party, and hired based on experience, and skill alone. Deciding the parameters of their operations alone, and acting as either lone wolves, or with their group, these enforcers are given near total autonomy in their job, so long as it cannot be traced back to NAKAIOMA. Needless to say, they are among the most well paid in the galaxy in their profession, and can come from any background.
The Executives:
Outsiders to the family, these individuals nevertheless hold a notable amount of power in their own parts of the conglomerate. Whether it be due to the fact that their corporation was of a significant enough size, that they were allowed to maintain their position during the acquisition, were hired from another corporation, or position, or that they started small, and worked their way to the top of the corporate food chain. Regardless, the executives of NAKAIOMA, are in-charge of vast corporate resources, and mass amounts of assets. Answering to old man Saro Nakaioma, they are sometimes trusted with information that not even members of the family are given, due to the familial in-fighting that occurs. Rich, influential, and business-minded, this group are the vital class that make the wheels of the conglomerate turn, and are privy to a number of significant discounts, and bonuses as a result.
The Specialists:
The best of the best in their respective fields. These men and women are the fuel of the conglomerate's base activities, developing the products, and innovations necessary for keeping it ahead of the competition. Able to overlap with the Executive, or even the Family member, the Specialists are great minds, and create among the best products on the market. Whether they be for telecommunications, military use, personal defense, even simple furniture, hover-craft, or fashionable clothing. Any kind of product, service, or technology can be invented, or innovated by these Specialists.

What Can I Expect?
In NAKAIOMA you can expect stories centered around political, and corporate intrigue. Power plays, character development, and deepened inter-personal relations, both familial and romantic, as if, or when your character finds that special someone. It won't just be your opinion that'll need taken into account, but your family's, (If you choose to enter as a family member), or your lifestyle, (If Exec or Spec-A). Will your character thrive in this type of ruthless, hyper-competitive environment, where installing a new set of eyes on the back of one's head would be something worthy of consideration? Or will they feel their real self crushed, stifled under the pressure to compete, and to succeed?
Family, and Executives partake in luxurious parties, and fundraisers with the elite of the galaxy, where the vital social networking necessary to maintain one's status in the corporate world is plentiful. Shady underworld dealings with criminals, mercenaries, hackers, and info brokers. An aura of intimidation, and uncertainty around one's character, as the ominous, corporate entity they represent lurks around them wherever they go. Political backroom dealings, and bribes with senators, moffs, representatives, and even feudal lords, doing your own part to line your own pockets, and to further the reach of the corporation. Developing advanced technologies, products, and materials, of both a civilian and military nature. Establishing new subsidiaries, and major business units, embracing new concepts and ideas to bring to the old man himself, Saro, for proposal, and perhaps a promotion.
Special agents do as they please, and act with impunity. Backed by one of the most powerful corporations in known space, they are the living will of NAKAIOMA. Securing those connections that the corporation would otherwise not want to associate itself with, acting as unofficial confidants, and representatives, in situations in which the corporation does not want its name attached, in the event of a backfire, murdering whistleblowers, corporate, and political rivals, and those who have otherwise crossed paths with the conglomerate. Bodyguards for Family, and Executives when necessary, and the trainers, and advisors of the vast legions of paramilitary guards that the conglomerate hires. They are the shadow that facilitates the future movement of hundreds of trillions of credits, and the future of NAKAIOMA.
