Versatility - Designed to be a multi-role tank, the various weapon loadouts allow for flexibility in the tanks role on the battlefield.
Shell - Designed for crew safety, the Hull has been up-armored and given special attention to both survivability and durability.

Figured Out - Being that it is a tracked vehicle, it can be brought to a halt with appropriate attacks to disable the track and remove the vehicle from a predicted fight.
Purpose - Different loadouts are designed for different tasks, meaning a Custodian Sovereign-class will have difficulty with heavy vehicles while a Champion Sovereign-class will have difficulty with infantry.

Seeing a glaring lack of dedicated military vehicles for Naboo, PGEM put forward a bid to produce an armored vehicle in the form of a multi-role tank to fill that void.

A great many designs were put forward, most based on a versatile tank design used long ago by those in combat against the Empire of old.

Seeing potential, the initial design was given to Royal Engineers to make their own in terms of both layout and general esthetic.

Ending with a rounded design that was an ever present feature amongst most everything designed and built for Naboo. The potential of angled armor not being overlooked in any way as the general design was first mocked up. Interior space was already cramped with the projected weapon emplacement, and ultimately the only allowed one entry point to the vehicle in the form of the Theadian viewport to the front of the vehicle.

Despite this, three crew members are optimal for the operation of the vehicle, two being manageable, and one being inefficient but operable.

A commander to work the radio and monitor engine and shield output, a dedicated gunner, and a dedicated driver. The crew arrangement involves the driver and commander being in the forward most position of the tank, with the gunner being at what is most commonly referred to as the core, directly beneath the weapons turret.

The matter of another tank design emerged given the initial weapon configuration, now known as the Champion loadout within the Aegis-class tanks, being relegated to anti-vehicle purposes. With a number of further designs shut down until it was noticed that the weapon turret was already optimized for a heavy weapon system, and could simply swap out for the same weapon design for different purposes.

In turn creating the line of Aegis-class tanks. With the Champion being the initial and heaviest hitter designed for anti-armor purposes by means of slow firing, highly destructive weapons. The Guardian being next in line as a generalized tank loadout for both anti-armor, and anti-vehicle purposes with a dedicated heavy weapon, and a more rapid firing laser cannon with acceptable destructive potential. The following Steward design was relegated to anti-starfighter purposes with twin medium laser cannons while the Custodian variant leaned into anti-infantry with light laser cannons that wielded a high rate of fire in exchange for range.

All built around a singular chassis and system to make repair and maintenance a far more manageable task with the large numbers that were projected for production.
