PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Blast Armor
  • Weight: Average
  • Resistances:
    • Energy: High
    • Kinetic: Average
    • Lightsabers: None
    • Other:
      • Sonic: Average
      • EMP/Ion: None
      • Elemental: Average
      • Electric: Average
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Reflective Crystals: The primary source of protection for the armor system is thousands of tiny crystals in the semisolid gel. The crystals diffused blaster bolt energy and absorb the heat.
  • Semisolid Gel: The gel can absorb decent amounts of kinetic impact while also slowing down the movements of vibroblades.
STRENGTHS
  • Energy Resistance: Between the gel and the crystals, the armor system has a significant amount of protection against standard blaster weaponry, both diffusing and absorbing the energy, although there is a limit to the amount of energy it can handle.
  • Kinetic Resistance: The gel and crystals are also decent at absorbing kinetic damage and diminishing the damaging effects of vibroweapons.
  • Blast Armor: As a whole, blast armor does a good job of absorbing and diffusing most forms of energy- including electric, sonic, and thermal, as well as cold temperatures.
WEAKNESSES
  • Lightsabers: Has no effect on lightsabers. Their blades exceed the energy capacities of the armor.
  • Gas! Gas! Gas!: Armor does not stop gas or chemical agents without specialized, separate equipment.
  • Legs: Legs are not covered by the armor system.
DESCRIPTION
Designed as part of the Outer Rim Manufacturing Union's program to modernize and enhance the League Defense Force capabilities, the MRCAS was designed to complement the fatigues and poncho designed by Force-Tech. Rather than relying on a single, highly-advanced armor suit, the armor designers focused on creating a layered system of interchangable parts to better allow for a wider variety of environments and roles, supported by accessories and smaller pieces. As a result, the MRCAS was created to be worn over the combat fatigues, but below the tactical poncho, creating the main mid-layer of defense.

Based on the designs and technology of Naboo's historic defense forces, the MRCAS operates as an overgarment worn over the chest, arms, and waist, made out of a thick, rubber-like material for flexibility and relative lightness, but with many folds and chambers within the fabric, filled with an energy absorption gel and reflective crystals. It's not designed to stop all incoming fire, but to absorb and deflect enough of the energy to be survivable, relying on the multiple layers to take the brunt of the damage.

The MRCAS comes in numerous sizes and shapes for the various species within the League space, so it can be easily adapted to the various defense forces that make up the League and their allies. It's fairly quick to don on and off, relying on buckles to tighten it to the wearer's body. Additional straps allow for further fit modification and they include anchor points for a wide array of accessories and additional as part of the overall Multi-Role Combat System.

Cool armour!
  • The RTL's link is broken, please fix it.
  • And after I read the Special features and check the resistances; the resistances are not reflecting the two spec features. Please modify these.

Fixed the link! And I wasn't sure about the special features part, since I paraphrased the description of how the blast armor works from Wookiepedia. Do you think the resistances are too high or low? Or do the gel and crystals not really count as a special feature?

Well, currently this is a Multipurpose armour and not a Blast Armour, so yes, it is low. But in that case if you write to the Classification the Blast Armour instead of the Multipurpose, the current ratings will be good.
