STRENGTHS
  • Heavy Armor: the frontal armor on the Mors Ferro is rated as so extremely strong that a famous tactic of the Chaos Pact is to deliberately drive the Mors Ferro tank into open ground to attract anti-tank fire, causing the enemy to reveal itself and allow hidden tank destroyers to pick them off.

  • Runs on anything: To make up for being a fuel-guzzling bastard, the Mors Ferro Fusion Core is designed to run off practically anything flammable. Tank crew have been observed placing literal woodchips into the fuel tanks when on long-distance missions and yet being able to run the tank just as well as if they had used high-quality fuel.

  • Main Gun: the gigantic auto-loaded 240mm L/35 Howitzer fires massive high-explosive shells capable of utterly demolishing any fortification in their way. Even though it lacks dedicated anti-tank rounds, a direct hit from the Hi-Ex shell is capable of knocking out even the heaviest enemy armor through overpressure. Often it simply just flips the enemy vehicle over. When loading advanced smart ammunition, the 240mm Howitzer can strike targets hundreds of klicks away with uncanny accuracy.

  • Morale: Whenever the Mors Ferro is seen on the field, it strengthens the morale of the surrounding Chaos Pact troopers and sends them into fits of exaltation whenever it fires its monstrous main gun in support of the infantry. The mere appearance of a Mors Ferro tank on the battlefield is enough to reinvigorate exhausted troopers into greater and greater feats of martyrdom.
WEAKNESSES
  • Speed: designed mainly to support infantry advances and soak up fire, there is little need for the Mors Ferro to have the abilities of a land speeder. While capable of going decently fast, it often does not advance faster than an infantryman's running speed.

  • Maneuverability: The Mors Ferro large size and weight means that it often has trouble moving through dense terrain and swamps, causing them to sink in the mud. It is also famous for its terrible transmission which gives it a crawling reverse speed of only 4 km/H. Rumors are that this is deliberate to encourage crews to fight to the death and prevent retreat.

  • Weight: The Mors Ferro's large size and weight often means that it takes up large volumes of space on landing ships that must be deployed close to the line.

  • Catastrophic detonation: no blowout panel system in the Galaxy can help a crew survive a mass detonation of several tons of explosives so the Chaos Pact doesn't bother. if the Mors Ferro takes a direct hit to the ammo rack and blows, it blows.
DESCRIPTION

The Mors Ferro was developed as a breakthrough tank for the Chaos Pact. It is meant to advance alongside infantry to blast open fortifications and provide supporting fire until a defensive line is shattered. Once that is done, high-speed armor and mechanized troops will flood through the gap to cause havoc behind the lines, facilitating a general collapse of the enemy line. The Mors Ferro has become loved by Chaos Pact troops as a steel behemoth that has saved their lives many a time by attracting enemy fire or destroying a weapon emplacement pinning them down. This love has become so great that it has become a popular method of execution, with Chaos Pact troopers often trying enemies to the front plate of the tank before driving into battle.
