GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Morgukai Shadow Warriors
  • Affiliation: The Sith Empire
  • Classification: Specialized Infantry
  • Equipment:
    Cortosis-weave Armor
  • Cortosis Staff

[*]Description: Highly secretive and highly skilled, the Morgukai are one of the lesser known secret societies among the Nikto civilization. Exclusively male and exclusively Kajain'sa'Nikto, the Morgukai were renowned as formidable warriors and had been known to even face Jedi in combat and emerge victorious. This was attributed to their highly effective combination of rigorous physical training, their extensive knowledge of various martial arts, their Cortosis-infused weapons, and their mental conditioning to resist Jedi Mind Tricks. Whenever a Morgukai would slay a Jedi, they would take their lightsabers as trophy and wear them about their armor as testament to their skill.
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Unit Size: Medium
  • Unit Availability: Rare
  • Unit Experience: Elite
  • Combat Function: The Morgukai were integrated into standard Imperial Legion operational units, typically platoons and battalions, where they would serve as a sort of specialized infantry that was highly effective in one area of combat: the dispatching of Jedi. When confronted with a Jedi, the Morgukai would seek to engage them as quickly as possible, utilizing their skill with their Cortosis Staff to overwhelm and then kill the Jedi before they had a chance to exact a heavy toll on the Imperial Legionnaires.
STRENGTHS
  • Highly Skilled: Trained in multiple galactic martial arts, the Morgukai are more than well-equipped with subdue and kill most other fighters they come across. Their proficiency with their cortosis staff is also noteworthy, as is their intense physical and mental conditioning to resist the supernatural powers of the Jedi they typically prefer to battle.
  • Cortosis Armor: Though hearkening back to more analog suits of armor worn by pre-industrial civilizations, the armor worn by the Morgukai is infused with Cortosis ore that allows them to not only weather a blow from a Jedi's lightsaber, but also to short out the weapon on contact. Though not all-encompassing, the armor is extensive enough to protect their vital areas and to counter lightsaber strikes at certain body target zones and marks of contact.
WEAKNESSES
  • Melee Fighters: Being solely specialized in melee combat, the Morgukai abhor blaster rifles and other ranged weapons. Such devices are anathema to the Morgukai code of honor, and will not be found on one of their persons no matter the circumstances. This means that they are particularly vulnerable to small arms fire.
  • No Force Powers: Though renowned across the ages as killed Jedi Killers, the Morgukai have no proficiency in the Force to enhance their abilities. All of their skill comes from years of brutal regimen and conditioning. They cannot call upon the Force to aid them in battle, nor to protect themselves from the powers of particularly skilled practitioners of the Force.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

For thousands of years the number of Morgukai in the galaxy waxed and waned, rising and falling depending on a multitude of circumstances which included the general persecution of their society. Fabled as Jedi Killers with few peer, the Morgukai were always subjected to the attitude of the reigning Jedi Order should their ire be provoked. In the years after the Gulag Plague, the Morgukai found their numbers rejuvenated as the galaxy reeled from immense catastrophe.

Securing work as honorable mercenaries, the Morgukai regained their status as Jedi Killers by being contracted out to various fringe groups who had opposition with the various Jedi Orders that sprung up in the galaxy; the most notable being the Silver Jedi. It was in this friction with the Silver Jedi that brought the Morgukai back into the attention of the Lords of the Sith.

Approached the the Dark Lord Carnifex, the Morgukai were offered vast sums of wealth and other treasures should they pledge their services to the Sith Empire in combating the Jedi. To sweeten the deal, the Dark Lord vowed to swell the ranks of the Morgukai by cloning the five greatest warriors of their order, under which they would be trained by their templates into vicious warriors.

The Morgukai accepted the Dark Lord's offer.
