SETTING INFORMATION
  • Astronomical Location Name: Iego moon 676, Rath
  • Classification: Moon - Dwarf Planet
  • Location: lego, one of the planet's 1,000 moons.
  • Rotational Period: 6 hours
  • Orbital Period: 419 days
  • Size: Medium - As a moon, it is one of the larger objects within Iego's orbit, even among the many moons within the planetary system, Moon 676 takes up the number six spot in terms of size, which puts it among the classification of supermoons like Millius Prime within the mooncluster.
  • Affiliation:
  • Population: Uninhabited
  • Demographics: N/A
  • Accessibility: Though the planetary system of Iego itself is rather remote and it is surrounded by a large number of moons, Rath does stand out as the ironically called "White Pearl" of the mooncluster and is one of those unmistakable moons within the aforementioned cluster. As one of the larger moons within the Iego moon cluster, it is easily visible within said cluster, as this moon has effectively already cleared its own astronomical path within the planet's orbit, which makes travelling to it a bit easier than to the smaller moons it does have two Avalon class orbital Defense Platforms within orbit as part of the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant's design to safeguard the planetary system with a large number of these platforms. The N&Z corporation holds full authority on who may and who may not be given access and is responsible for the immediate defenses of the moon and the subsequent security of the immediate space around the moon with exception to the aforementioned orbital stations.
  • Description: Rath or Moon 676 is one of the largest moons within the Iego planetary system, but holds a unique record in the fact that it has one of the densest atmospheres among the moons, yet this density and pressure did not translate into a warmer or more temperate climate. Due to a fast rotation and a longer or rather slower orbit, the moon which also has a very nitrogen rich atmosphere is considered entirely uninhabitable and has zero recorded native flora or fauna. The moon can boast a temperature of -70 degrees celcius in the warmest spots with even recorded dips of down to -110 degree Celcius, made worse by consistent turbulence within the atmosphere and nigh omnipresent liquid nitrogen storms and blizzards. It is a barren and from the outside insignificant moon, if it weren't for the untapped minerals and materials underneath its massive, jagged swaths of naturally formed frozen nitrogen-rich icelayers, the most known minerals present are listed below
POINTS OF INTEREST
  • Old Mining Outpost: While the moon has had several attempts of companies trying to set up quarries or proper mining facilities on the moon, most couldn't last under the relentless conditions of the planet and the dangers that came with those. One of the largest, most visible outposts is The outpost 8, located near the Ascorant Iceridge. This outpost is completely abandoned and has been worn and torn heavily by the constant storms, but its main structure and several of the security meassures have managed to stand the test of time, giving insight in how the barren moon may preserve the presence of people in the most brutal way.
  • Ascorant Iceridge: a massive jagged and tilted ridge of sharp ice jutting out of the ground, most likely as a result from an asteroid impact being flashfrozen. The width of the iceridge is around two-hundred kilometers with the outline of it being visible from outer space, even through the thick atmosphere. The highest recorded peak among the ridge's jagged icicles, is Ascorant itself; a jagged peak of ice reaching up to 3,000m
  • Lake Noire: A very large lake consisting mainly out of frozen Carbonite, the term 'lake' is relatively loose here, since one would be able to stand on the surface, but due to its natural black coloring and thus its contrasting nature with the dull gray, white and steel blue colors that generally dominate the planet's surface, this enormous black spot is thus called Lake Noire or the Black Lake by astrologers and spacefarers who have happened to chance a look upon it from outer space. With a circumference of about four hundred kilometers on its widest point, the 'lake' betrays the large amound of carbonite reserves hidden and not-so hidden within the moon.
  • N&Z outposts: Where others failed, the N&Z Umbrella Corporation has done some serious work mapping the moon, utilizing the orbital space platforms and a cooperation with the Mahporeem Imperial remnant's navy in order to find the most stable and accessible locations upon Rath's surface in order to set up several outpost meant to further survey the moon and explore possibilities of industrial exploitation.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
  • Formation: Rath (also known as moon 676) was formed through the collissions of many astronomical bodies within the Iego Moon cluster over billions of years, with some believing that just like the other supermoons within Iego's orbit, Rath was originally a young protoplanet before it was dragged and locked into Iego's gravitational pull. due to its composition being highly nitrogen and carbonite rich, the moon does not have a molten core, however, despite the absence of a molten core and thus the presence of a natural magnetic field, the moon does have an atmosphere due to the presence of high concentrations of nitrogen and hydrogen, carbonite and silica. This atmosphere is dense and thick enough to act as a shield against asteroid impacts.
  • Early Discovery: As civilizations began to sprang up, Rath had once been visited by the Rakatans in their search for lifeforms they could dominate, though they originally hoped to reach Millius Prime, the Rakatan expedition landed on Rath by mistake and were stunned by how the moon's inhospitable nature and barren nature seemed to strengthen their darkness within the force, not because it had any inherent darkness, but because the place's illogical cold, its storms and desperation-inducing outlook simply put the fear of death in almost anyone who walked its surface in the olden days. Since the Rakatans didn't find any life though, they abandoned the moon almost immediately, not bothering to survey it beyond the immediate landing point, illustrating that even the mightiest empires feared the cold of death.
  • Diathim , the Local inhabitants of Millius Prime had at multiple times tried to reach the moon of Rath, as it had once been called the white goddess in their beliefs that the moons were gods (with Iego being the mightiest of them...before the species realized that Iego was the actual center and their 'planet' Millius Prime was in fact a moon itself.) and hoped to reach the one they called the most beautiful. Alas, when they too began to become a spacefaring civilization, the harsh truth dawned upon them as their White Goddess and White Pearl had been nothing but a bleak, cold and unforgiving moon which held naught but death. They renamed the moon Rath'Akzul, Rath for short... meaning White Wail as to denote the unforgiving nature, endless storms and bleak appearance of the moon.
  • Mining Surveys: The moon was subject to multiple mining surveys in the early to mid 800 ABY's under the control of the Confederacy of Independent Systems, with multiple companies attempting to start up a mining facility on the moon after the discovery of rare minerals and the large carbonite deposits which could have great industrial applications. Alas most, if not all of these attempts to set up shop on Rath failed and moon 676 remained untocuhed for decades...until now
