  • Unexploited Resources: Deep-crust thermal energy pockets; largely inaccessible due to volatile gas concentrations.
GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION
  • Gravity: Standard
  • Climate: Arid / Controlled. The natural climate is scorching and dusty; habitable zones are maintained via atmospheric shields and domes.
  • Primary Terrain: Canyons, Mesas, Salt Flats, Industrial Slag Heaps, Deep Pit Mines.
  • Atmosphere: Type II (Breath mask suggested due to high particulate and pollutants).
LOCATION INFORMATION
  • Capital City: Ool Dinne
  • Planetary Features: The planet is highly Urban/Industrial. Features include "The Deep Cuts" (massive canyon mines), interconnected refinery domes, and the "Sky-Boxes"—floating luxury platforms for corporate observers.
  • Major Locations:
    • The Vertical Dig: A world-famous podracing track commonly known as the Mon Gazza Speedway. A track that plunges through active mining shafts and whipping through an urban centre at terrifying speed.

    • Board Headquarters: A skyscraper in Ool Dinne where the new corporate board meets. Newly completed and funded privately by the Amnen family as a gift to the people. It is one of the most advanced and luxurious public buildings on the planet. The top floor hosts a vast communication array allowing the board direct interface with other facilities on the planet and allowing secure communication with Muunilist for maximum efficiency of imported technology.

    • New Gazza Spaceport: A massive conical space station in orbit of Mon Gazza. The bottom section is an important trade and customs hub with a section above that as a small city for workers of the station and travellers to the system. The very top is a complex popular with wealthy and government officials with luxury high rises built around an artificial lake and waterfall.

    • Thrusterhead Coliseum: Originally built as an attempt to rival to Mon Gazza speedway it has found more of a niche in combat sports including the popular “Death Pursuits” where death row inmates would be put into a speeder and sent out the door on the run from bounty hunters with an order to shoot to kill. The colosseum is owned by two of the largest spice lords on the planet and it also serves as their base of operation.

  • Force Nexus (Optional): N/A
POPULATION
  • Native Species: None.
  • Immigrated Species: Humans, Muuns (Executive class), Dugs, Xexto, various Droids.
  • Population: Heavy (Approx. 4.8 Billion)
  • Demographics:
    • 68% Human (Mostly laborers and pilots)
    • 15% Droids (Industrial/Mining)
    • 5% Dug/Xexto (Racing community)
    • 12% Other (Various alien species)
  • Primary Languages: Galactic Basic, Mon Gazzan dialect, Huttese.
  • Culture: A culture of high-stakes competition and industrial grit. Daily life revolves around the shift-clock of the mines or the thrill of the podracing circuit. The "Thrusterhead" subculture is prevalent among pilots and miners.
  • What is is like to live here?: Mon Gazza is technically a relatively low populated world for its size, if you want to get some free space there are leagues and leagues of barren land to explore alone. The population centres are however, incredibly densely populated with people living on top of each other crammed under the environmental shields. Life is noisy and space is at a premium with most citizens having small living spaces and a large amount of homes of multiple occupancy.

This does however mean people have been forced to be comfortable in each others spaces so crowded bars, sports arenas and the like are popular and happy places.

Food is mostly imported, raising prices of all but the most basic things but there is a thriving industry of home grown hydroponic fruit and vegetables. They are fresher than imports but offworlders always insist Mon Gazzan produce has a slightly metallic taste.

Entertainment is plentiful. Sporting events and races are the most popular being held frequently and with a purposefully low-capped ticket price for locals to get as many in as possible. Concession stand prices are astronomical once you are in, but you dont have to buy them.
GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government: Corporate Technocracy (The Board of Directors)
  • Affiliation: Muunilist Mining Oligarchy / The Board (Independent/Corporate)
  • Wealth: High. While the average worker is poor, the planet's output of refined spice and ore makes it one of the wealthiest industrial hubs in the Outer Rim.
  • Stability: Medium. The new Board has brought order through blackmail and profit-sharing, but tensions remain between the Spice Lords and the Corporate Executives.
  • Freedom & Oppression: Moderate Oppression. Citizens enjoy better housing and air quality than in years past, but their lives are strictly governed by corporate contracts. The Board monitors all communications to maintain "operational efficiency."

People can be happy if they ignore the shadow of the corporations, and many Mon Gazzans call themselves such.
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
  • Military: Private Security Forces. The Board employs high-end mercenary groups and droid battalions to guard spice shipments and suppress labor strikes. Small Droid heavy standing planetary navy supplemented by corporate fleets. A significant fleet of armed customs frigates.
  • Technology: Galactic Standard (with high-end Muunilist imported industrial machinery).
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Mon Gazza was settled thousands of years ago when deep-range scanners identified it as a primary source of gas crystals and rare minerals. For centuries, it was a chaotic landscape of competing mining guilds and criminal syndicates. Its position on the Spice Terminus made it a natural hub for the refining and smuggling of illicit substances, particularly the stimulant "Thrusterhead."
During the podracing golden age, Mon Gazza became a legendary stop on the circuit, known for its treacherous vertical courses. However, the lack of a central government meant much of the planet's wealth was lost to corruption and infighting.
Recently, a mining oligarch from Muunilist saw the untapped potential in the planet's inefficiency. Through a masterclass in political intrigue, the oligarch purchased controlling interests in the largest firms and used blackmail to "persuade" the local Spice Lords to join a centralized Board of Directors. This restructuring has modernized the planet, providing the workforce with modular housing and better life-support systems, not out of kindness, but to ensure a more reliable and profitable output. Today, Mon Gazza stands as a cold, efficient machine of industry, where the roar of podracer engines competes only with the thrum of the spice refineries.
