- Steelsplitter - Honed through methods both mystical and mundane, Mocelsa ai Maras is metaphysically sharp, imbued with the Force. Given proper cutting technique (and assuming at least a modicum of physical prowess on the part of the wielder), the blade is able to hew through even stone and metal. Though not, of course, with the same effortlessness as a lightsaber.
- Quicksilver - Though, strictly speaking, heavier than it should be, owing to the effects of alchemization upon its structure, Mocelsa ai Maras is a lively and nimble blade, and can be wielded with great alacrity by a competent duelist.
- Tradition of Hatred - Deeply personal though it may be, Mocelsa ai Maras is a Sith Sword, and shares many of the traits common to Alchemical Swords as a whole; extreme durability, capacity to ground electricity, ability to deflect blaster fire, and usefulness as a focus for Dark-Side warriors.
- Requiem for The Lost - Mocelsa ai Maras is a beacon of heartache, rage, and bloodlust. It is functionally impossible to disguse one's presence in the Force while carrying it - the best the wielder might hope for is for its signature to be lost in a sea of resonant tragedy on a particularly grisly battlefield.
- Relic of Darkness - Though made to kill Sith, Mocelsa is an instrument steeped in the Dark-Side, and as such, its powers can be temporarily neutralized by certain Jedi arts. Extended exposure may damage, or even destroy, the blade.
- Mystical Artefact - A weapon of the Force is of little use if the wielder cannot draw on the Force to use it. In the hands of someone not gifted with the Force, or in the presence of materials or creatures such as voidstone or ysalamiri, Mocelsa ai Maras is little more than a mundane, if well made, sword.
Mocelsa ai Maras was made to kill Sith. Forged in the aftermath of the extermination of the Skaiyr clan on Indoumodo and the abduction of its last surviving member by Darth Carnifex, the blade is a monument to its makers' fury, sorrow, and guilt. Made of phrik and forged thinner than most Sith blades, it is light and nimble, allowing its wielder to keep pace with a lightsaber wielding foe in battle. Imbued with the black, murderous hatred of its maker, its edge is sharper than sharp, allowing it to cleave through metal and stone. In the Force, it is equal parts funeral dirge and war chant, urging its wielder to take a thousand heads for every bond severed in the purge. It is, above all else, a promise: I will make them pay for what they did.
