PRODUCTION INFORMATION
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Synchronized Fire Circuits; remote reciever allows droid to coordinate actions with nearby units
  • Database Retrieval System allows for streamlined data input
  • Limited Sentience, both pre-installed combat instructions and limited creative potential
    • Baseline Personality Matrix
  • Very high database-sourced knowledge of various weapon systems, operation and maintenance parameters
  • Non-lethal tampering countermeasure
  • Integrated Security, Anti-Slicing, Data-Retention Modules
  • 'Overwatch' Neural Net
    • Encrypted data network allows for instantaneous sharing of data and coordination with other units attached to neural net
    • Wireless interface with Tkiriyr Nau'ur Kad artificial intelligence; able to be controlled directly or commanded indirectly
STRENGTHS
  • Mass Production: The Cernr-type is optimized for mass-production, in order to be able to be easily replaced and manufactured to serve in a variety of roles. Since the Enclave depends on the droid frame for much menial labor as well as basic infantry, the Cernr-type's ability to be easily manufactured is a great asset to the Enclave.
  • Adaptive: The Cernr-type is outfitted with a Feyr droid brain, allowing it to perform a variety of roles; while this inhibits it slightly due to the fact that it is not a dedicated combat droid brain, the advantage of having a single model be able to perform various roles is far more advantageous in the Enclave's current situation.
  • Countermeasures: The Cernr-type includes various anti-slicing and tampering countermeasures.
  • As A Team: Outfitted with a neural net wireless interface system, the Cernr-type can instantly connect, share data, and coordinate with as many other systems connected to the encrypted neural network as necessary. The network is overseen by the Tkiriyr Nau'ur Kad artificial intelligence, allowing the AI to directly or indirectly control the units.
WEAKNESSES
  • Dumb-Fire: When it comes to battle, the Cernr-type is only capable of serving as basic infantry. The units are incapable of creating their own tactical strategies and adjusting to rapidly evolving or unknown variables, relying heavily on more capable commanders. Without that chain of command, the capabilities of the Cernr-type are drastically decreased.
  • Integrated Weaponry: The lethality of the Cernr-type depends solely on its access to external weapon systems.
  • Heavy Weapons: Although it can be mass-produced at high quantities, this means that the materials made to armor the Cernr-type are less protective than higher-quality models, and makes the Cernr-type easy prey for heavy weaponry and other sources of high-damage.
DESCRIPTION
The relation between Mandalorians and Droids has always been one of master and servant. Proud Mandalorians historically have rarely recognized droids to have the same sentient capacity as organic beings, and thus they have been ever used as tools of transport and combat. Most famous are perhaps the Basilisk War Droids, machines made of metal and death, crafted to resemble great beasts of wars. The ancient Mandalorian Crusaders rode their war droids to conquest entire swathes of the galaxy, and the droids became almost as feared as their riders.

However, the days of the Basilisk War Droids have largely left the galaxy, with no verifiably original models remaining, though there have been poor attempts at recreating them throughout Mandalorian history. Like the Crusaders that rode them, the Basilisk War Droids are gone, and the Mando'ade must recognize the state of the galaxy they are in, and the state of the people.

The Enclave was forced to face this reality, quite harshly. The fact became clear with the reconstruction of Tor Valum, their new capital city: logistically, there were simply not enough Mandalorians to fully inhabit and run a city the size of Tor Valum. Laborers were needed, menial security forces, legions of workers to perform the basic tasks needed to make a city run. And thus, exhausted of organic resources and not willing to part with valuable Mandalorian resources, the Enclave turned to droids.

The MND-series Droid Frame, Cernr-type is a basic droid frame meant to fill that variety of roles. The niche of its programming allows in its versatility, able to serve as basic security or infantry, laborers, maintenance workers, and other basic tasks the Enclave requires. It is easily mass-produced, and with the wealth of resourcse that the Enclave has at its disposal, its quite unlikely that they will run out of units any time soon.

In addition to that, the Cernr-type is able to be controlled directly or indirectly by the semi-omniscient, superintelligent artificial intelligence named the Tkiriyr Nau'ur Kad, or the Mind Forge as it is referred to in basic. The ancient creation of the now-extinct Clan Kyron, the artificial intelligence now serves the Enclave, and all Cernr-type droid frames are connected to its 'Overwatch' neural net that the artificial intelligence can use for instant data collection, coordination, and other purposes with intent of defending Kestri and the Enclave. This also allows for greater coordination between groups of individual units in a variety of roles, enhancing the performance of the droid frame.

The frame is not imperfect, however unfortunate that may be. By constraint of its design philosophy, the mass-production of the frame means that the Cernr-type is more easily destroyed than more-heavily-armored droids. This means that the droid frame can easily fall prey to high-damage weaponry and heavy ordnance. Additionally, the lethality of the Cernr-type relies completely on access to external weapon systems, and the droid frame does not come with any inbuilt weapon systems. This requires the Enclave to manufacture arms for every droid they wish to carry a weapon, which can lead to resource strain and logistical difficulty. Finally, the multi-role capabilities of the Cernr-type's droid brain also means conversely that it is unable to specialize in any specific task. As such, droid programmed to specialize in a certain role will most often outperform a Cernr-type in a given task, a tradeoff for not needing to manufacture multiple different droids.

All in all, the Cernrt-type is the drone worker that the Enclave needs, able to build skyscrapers just as well as it can fight against massed enemies. The Enclave will no doubt rely on it for generations to come, and no doubt it will serve the Enclave well.
