SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Incredibly durable and protects the pilot from harm that would otherwise prove lethal.
  • Fireproof.
  • Sports a rocket booster in the back piece which allows the pilot to charge the enemy or dodge short distances out of the way.
  • Allows the pilot to arm themselves with the heaviest of weapons for maximum damage.
  • Contains minimal advanced systems, none of which are vital to operating the power armor in case of EMP/ION attacks.
  • Heavily customizable, including war trophies and clan emblems.
  • Outfitted with an energy shield located on the left arm, allowing several pilots to link up and create a shieldwall to protect against blasterfire.
Strengths:
  • Forged from the salvaged wreckage of the Judgement, a Tulak Hord-class Star Destroyer, the armor is largely composed of turadium commonly used in the making of blast doors. As a result the armor is significantly difficult to cut through with the use of energy weapons, such as lightsabers. Unless concentrated on one specific area for an extended duration, any glancing blows will barely affect it.
  • Coupled with the sturdy nature of turadium, the deployable energy shield built into the left arm creates a barrier able to soak up massive amounts of blaster fire.
  • Pilot is able to wear conventional armor while inside the Mk I, thus should the power armor break down they are able to eject and continue the fight on foot.
  • Contains only a limited amount of advanced technology, making it easy to use and only a few non-essential systems are affected by EMP/ION weapons.
  • Enhances the pilot's physical strength, allowing for the lifting of heavy objects, etc.
Weaknesses:
  • Extremely heavy in its idle state; unless piloted they are very cumbersome to move through conventional means.
  • Vulnerable to concentrated attacks, especially when outnumbered and cut off from allies.
  • Energy shield can be breached should enough firepower be concentrated on one area, or disabled altogether by destroying the centerpiece from where the shield deploys.
  • Energy shield does not block conventional weapons, and solid matter may pass through unharmed.
DESCRIPTION
It was during the climax of the Great Ruinous Invasion that the aged but mighty Judgement was torn from the skies overlooking the battlefield and sent hurdling towards the earth, ripped apart entirely with huge chunks scattered along a tremendous area. Though the battle was eventually won, High King Thyrian Hearthfire had been forced to watch helplessly as his loyal crew all perished in a matter of seconds. These men and women were of the Sith Empire of old, in service to him as their Lord, and when the old empire fell to the combined might of the Galactic Republic and the Mandalorians they all chose to remain with their captain. As new Sith orders and empires would rise and fall, and even as Thyrian himself would come to renounce the dark side, they served willingly throughout. When their Lord settled on Midvinter, and later became High King, the Judgement took on the role of eternal guardian, remaining in orbit around Midvinter to dissuade and defend against offworld threats.

With the battle won and his old ship in pieces spread across the surface of Midvinter, the High King decided that their sacrifice would not be in vain. Before the vast Valkyri army was disbanded, he had them scavenge for every last piece of scrap metal they could find and subsequently had them delivered to Tháinbroek. There he put in motion to have the enormous resources now at their disposal, along with whatever tech that survived the destruction, serve their needs in a different, more direct fashion. He had every blacksmith in the Crownlands put to work melting down the many pieces of metal to reforge them into great suits of armor. The Judgement would still protect Midvinter and her peoples, even in death.

The Mk I took on the title of its namesake; an incredibly sturdy power armor perfectly blending the advanced technology of the fallen Star Destroyer and the distinct craftmanship of the Valkyri. While many offworlders would consider it bulky by modern standards, its effectiveness remains on par with much of what the greater galaxy has to offer. The wearer, or pilot, climbs inside and is strapped into the leather harness to keep them safe and secure. The helmet provides a HUD to offer some tactical benefits, such as more easily spot enemies and incoming fire, but ultimately isn't necessary to effectively pilot the suit. The left arm houses a deployable energy shield which is able to block blaster fire and, to a limited extend, lightsabers. In the back there is a rocket booster which can be activated in key moments to either charge the enemy or simply dodge incoming attacks. They are also fitted with a slew of heavy melee weapons, such as greatswords, greataxes, halberds, and two-handed warhammers.

Tens of thousands of these power armors were created from the salvaged wreckage, greatly boosting the effectiveness of the Valkyri army against local and offworld enemies alike. They were divided amongst the many clans of Midvinter, with larger settlements such as Fridheim and the capital itself holding special priority, and each clan has taken to decorating these to their liking, incorporating designs distinct to their respective traditions and customs. When next time their world comes under fire, they will be ready.
