Miss Me?

"Okay." He said quietly to her, his lips pressing against the top of her head. He had no qualms with leaving. Jamie's parents...well they had their own issues to sort out, and if Jamie wanted to be away from here then he was obliged to get her away. "We'll get out of here."

The Taxi came half a second later, Kurt opening the door and letting Jamie slide in first.

A part of him wanted to ask more about her sister, wanted to ask if Jamie wanted to go see her, talk to her, do...something, but it wasn't his place, not right now. For now she had only one request, and that was leaving this planet. Kurt couldn't deny her that. He reached up and whispered something to the Taxi driver, telling him where to go and which hangar to take them to once they were in the starport. "Hangar 77."

If Jamie heard, if she even cared she would notice that it wasn't the hangar they had landed in, the one containing the Nubian ship they'd gotten back on Spira.

He knew going back to it would just make Jamie more miserable.

Jamie paid no attention to whatever Kurt spoke to the driver. The sounds of her inner thoughts were louder than anything for the time being. Her head ached with such pressure and pain it was hard to think clearly. All she wanted to do was to go to sleep for days. To wake up and have everything better, back to normal. She hoped she would fall asleep in the taxi and wake up on the beaches of Spira beside Kurt, to be told it was all some kind of sick dream, that she had fallen and hit her head while they were scaling rocks or something.

Sadly she knew that was anything but the case. This was the reality of it. That perfect picture of her life had been shattered, and somehow she'd have to pick up what pieces she could and carry on.

Blue eyes stared out the window, a hand wiping her face now and then to rid herself of the tears that just seemed to keep coming. Her shirt by now was soaked through. The sniffles continued, though after several minutes the stuttered breathing began to subside, allowing her to at least take breaths without gulping down bursts of air.

Why can't anything just be simple?

His arm slipped around her, a small comfort that he could offer her. There wasn't really anything to say at the moment, and although he wanted to, Kurt managed to keep himself quiet.

The taxi moved quickly, almost as quickly as the Speeder bike they'd taken earlier.

It was only a matter of moments before they arrived at the Starport, the taxi turning away from the self-owned ship terminal and heading towards Hangar 77. It was one of the transport hangars that was located here on Theed, though one of the more private sort. Kurt had visited it once or twice before, usually making a delivery to one of the larger shipping agencies that used transports as a way of shipping their goods. As the taxi came to a stop Kurt gently caressed Jamie's hand, popping open the door and stepping outside.

She followed along quickly, Kurt turning to her for half a second. "Wait here, I'll be right back."

The Courier dashed off as quickly as he could, heading towards one of the kiosks in the corner of the hangar. As he stood there Kurt pulled off his shoe, shaking it for half a moment until a credit chit fell from beneath the sole. He scanned it, then typed in the required command. Four seconds later Kurt retrieved two tickets for a transport headed back towards Cartao, a private room booked for just the two of them.

She was surprised that Kurt had asked her to wait. She hadn't noticed quite yet that the hangar they arrived at was not the hangar she was expecting. This was definitely not the right place.

Jamie looked around, recognizing the area, but was confused as to why they were here. Despite Kurt's request, Jamie got out of the taxi, her hand pulling on the handle while Kurt went about purchasing tickets. The door popped open, and she removed herself and the camera she'd bought earlier from the cab, before paying the driver electronically. Her face had begun to dry, though she looked like a ragged mess. Makeup ran from her eyes to her cheeks like some kind of spice addicted clown. The sleeves on both arms of her shirt were damp. Her hair was anything but neat.
"What are we doing, Kurt?"

Is he lost? This is the wrong place.

"I'm getting you off Naboo." Kurt said simply. It was what she had wanted after all. "We'll head back to Cartao."

That was for the best for now. "You don't have to go back to training if you don't want to, we can spend a few days in a hotel or even maybe rent a house somewhere."

It would be stretching the limits of his funds, but for Jamie? He didn't mind doing something like that. Either way she wanted, no, needed to get off Naboo, and this was really the only way that he could think of doing that. Taking her to his home on Tatooine would just be a reminder of the family that she was now arguing with, and calling Kaile so they could stay on The Messa? Well that would bring them back to an argument they'd had days ago.

She didn't need that right now either.

"Either way, we'll get you away from here." That was the important thing for now.

One day she would come back of course, but right now they needed to be gone.

There was a nod. She knew they were leaving. They were at the starport, after all. "I mean, why are we here? This isn't our ship." She looked curiously at the tickets he had just paid for.

"You bought tickets?" For a second she was entirely confused as to why he would have done that.

Then it dawned on her why they weren't at the appropriate hangar.

"But you wanted that." She said, wiping her face once more, only this time the makeup clung to the sleeve as well.

The ship was really one of the only things from their trip that Kurt could physically take with him, and he was leaving it on Naboo. Perhaps the next time they were back he could take it, though Jamie would likely not be overly keen on keeping the contents of that room as it were. She wouldn't deny him the ship though, not when it was plain to see that he wanted it. It just needed adjusting. "Thank you." She finally managed to get out, kissing his cheek.

"Come on." The ship didn't matter right now.

It was true that he wanted it, but it wasn't worth the pain that it would cause Jamie. It would only serve as a reminder to her, a constant one. Perhaps he would come back for it later, but...a part of him doubted that too. Even if they cleaned out every room, redecorated and changed every little thing that they could, it would still have belonged to the woman that Jamie's father had...consorted with. A reminder like that wasn't necessary, and he certainly wouldn't ever make Jamie fly around in it.

Perhaps he'd just sell it for scrap.

Either way it didn't matter right now, all that mattered was getting her off world. "Let's get on board."

There was no security in the starport, at least no visible security. A few scanners were placed at the entrances of the hangars themselves and droids as well as security officials were scattered all over the place. There wasn't really any need for more here. Kurt wrapped his arm around Jamie, half holding her as they made their way towards the transport.

"I got us a room." He kissed the top of her head. "When we get on board I want you to get some sleep, you need rest."

After a day like today, they both did.

"Okay." Jamie wasn't about to argue.

If Kurt didn't want to take the ship it was all well and good by her. She just wanted to leave, it didn't matter how at the particular moment in time. Her hand ran along her arm, up to his shoulder where she rested it, as well as her head as they walked slowly up the ramp of the ship. She would have to come back, sooner rather than later. She wanted to get to know this little girl at some point. There was also the matter of ensuring that her father had told both her mother, and that little girl about who he really was. If she had to, boy would it be ugly.

"Thank you, again. I'm sorry that everything about this trip turned to shet."

There were moments of happiness, things she wouldn't forget or trade away, but she wished that their time could have just been less chaotic and more relaxed, as was the purpose of this whole vacation.

Now? She needed a vacation from this vacation.
