OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Minti Dziri - High Sith for Thought Hunter
  • Designation: Semi-sentient
  • Origins: Jutrand
  • Average Lifespan: As they are wraiths summoned through Sith Magic, they do not technically have a lifespan. They will linger in the material world for as long as their summoner wills and are sent back into the Netherworld of the Force once their summoner decides to send them back.
  • Estimated Population: Rare
  • Description: Billowing spirits wreathed in black cloaks that only occasionally hint at the spirit warped into the specter with its translucent arms, Thought Hunters float among a populace and seek out the hidden truths and thoughts of those around them. Their presence can evoke apprehension in those that encounter them, but once they have passed, the being cannot remember the dark specter they had just encountered.
PHYSICAL INFORMATION
  • Breathes: As they are spirits, they do not need to breathe and can exist in any environment
  • Average Height of Adults: 1.7 meters
  • Average Length of Adults: N/A
  • Skin color: Most of their form is obscured by their black cloaks, but what can be seen is almost always a pale translucent blue.
  • Hair color: No hair
  • Distinctions: Most of the form of the Thought Hunter is obscured by their ethereal cloaks, except for when their arms emerge from the tattered sleeves. The other notable physical trait of the spirits are their eyes that glow softly from underneath their hood, eyes that are always appraising those they observe.
  • Races: No other races
  • Force Sensitivity: All
Strengths:
  • Thought Hunters cannot be injured or damaged by any sort of normal weapon or substance. Blasters, kinetic slugthrowers, melee weapons have no effect, and even lightsaber blades will pass through without harm unless a Solari crystal is contained within the hilt. Weapons imbued with the light side will damage them, however.
  • Due to the Sith sorcery used to create them, and their intended purpose, Thought Hunters are natural telepaths and are gifted with other Force techniques that have to do with the mind. Thought Hunters are always able to detect the surface thoughts of beings within their immediate vicinity and possess a more fine-tuned Mind Probe that can allow them to push deeper into a being's mind as they search for thoughts and memories that are deemed treasonous even when they are a large distance away from their target. Once they have located such thoughts or other knowledge their summoner is seeking, they can employ Drain Knowledge to store a copy of the thoughts or memories within their own minds that their summoner can view at their leisure through the telepathic link they maintain with the spirit.
  • Through the dark side of the Force, and after studying centuries old texts, Darth Arcanix and her sorcerers gave the Thought Hunter an additional ability. Like the Dark Jedi Alema Rar and the secret Sith Lomi Plo, the very presence of a Thought Hunter is slippery. Once they have moved beyond visual range of a being, the being finds their memory of the encounter erased as though it never occurred. This slippery presence can mean even those resisted a Mind Probe from the creature soon forgets even resisting against the technique, wondering why they had developed a headache.
Weaknesses:
  • Force Sensitive beings that have been trained to resist mind probes and strong-willed individuals can resist the Thought Hunter's probing, although doing so can also achieve the spirit's objective and might elicit a response from their summoner. Species that are resistant or immune to mental intrusion such as Epicanthix or Toydarians are unable to be touched by the mental probing of the Thought Hunters.
  • Thought Hunters are not designed for combat scenarios, even if they cannot be harmed by most mundane weapons not imbued with the light side. They have no ability to harm other creatures beyond headaches that can develop from their telepathic probing.
  • Skilled mental Force Users can retrieve and keep the memories of any encounter with a Thought Hunter, and certain electrical stimuli can also prompt even non-Force Users to recall any encounters they have with the spirits.
CULTURE
  • Diet: As they are a spirit, they do not require normal sustenance. However, they can feed off memories they have absorbed once their summoner allows them to. A Thought Hunter that has consumed a memory has a stronger glow about it.
  • Communication: They cannot communicate through spoken language but can pass thoughts and other knowledge they have overheard through telepathy to the Sith that summoned them into the material world.
  • Technology level: No technology level
  • Religion/Beliefs: No religion or belief system
  • General behavior: Thought Hunters, when summoned into the material world, typically move about a population silently, listening for thoughts or knowledge that might appease their summoner or their quiet hunger for memories. Because of their ability to be forgotten, most individuals do not even realize they have encountered a Thought Hunter or that their thoughts are being listened to, and some Thought Hunters that develop a taste to a particular being's memories or thoughts have been known to linger around beings to feed. This behavior, which some of the Order of Arcane Syn speculate is due to the original spirit having a close familial connection to the person before they died and were twisted into their current form, can result in a person suffering from chronic headaches to even developing dementia.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The idea that would become the Minti Dziri, or the Thought Hunters, had its origins during the Tenth Sith Empire. During her tenure of overseeing the Saaraishash, Darth Arcanix had begun theorizing and initial experiments on creating a creature or spirit that could move about the general population of the Empire. This creation would eavesdrop upon the thoughts and memories of the population in search of treason, other dangerous sentiments, or even for knowledge the Lady of Secrets might desire. However, the project was shelved before it came to fruition as the Imperial Civil War erupted and led to the eventual defeat of the Sith Empire.

However, with the rise of the Sith Order in the Outer Rim under the leadership of Darth Empyrean Darth Empyrean , and her agreement with the new Emperor to assist him with stabilizing the new Sith-controlled territories, the project was revived. Sith sorcery would warp and twist Force spirits into their new forms, tying them to a summoning spell that was similar to that which created Force Wraiths. The specters, when deployed by a Sith with their summoning spell, would subtly probe the thoughts of the population within the burgeoning Imperium and keep the new Emperor appraised of the loyalty of his subjects. To ensure that such... observations would not create a panic, the Thought Hunters would be granted an ability only a few in history even knew about: to disappear from the memories of people after they had left their visual range.

Darth Arcanix and her sorcerers, to ensure the knowledge on how to summon them was kept in few hands, would only share the spell with those deemed appropriate by Empyrean.
