ADVANCED FEATURES

STRENGTHS
  • Destroyer Hunter: The Militus is capable of achieving great forward velocity through the empty vacuum of space, aiding by fourteen ion thrusters; ten larger and four smaller. This grants the Militus greater momentum and maneuverability than warships of similar size and class, allowing it to potentially catch up to smaller destroyers.
WEAKNESSES
  • Lighter Armament: The Militus sacrifices firepower for speed, and it cannot sustain a prolonged assault by a more heavily armed battlecruiser. It can, however, outpace them to escape potentially destructive situations.
DESCRIPTION

As the Sith Empire expanded its navy with larger and more heavily armored battlecruisers, an idea formed among the greatest shipwrights and architects of the War Cabinet. Their philosophy so far had favored the more powerful, yet slower, warships designed to slug it out with similarly heavy warships. However, as was noted in their battles against pirates, raiders, and even elements of the League of Voss, their larger warships were often outpaced by the smaller ragtag forces.

They needed something large-scale that could keep up with the swift raiding vessels of their enemies. Something along those lines had gone into the creation of the second generation Invictus, but their newest design was going to take this idea further than ever before.

It was dubbed the Militus-class Battlecruiser, a five kilometer long battleship that sacrificed firepower for speed. The Militus' dorsal surface mounted a large array of gun batteries, primarily arranged along the port and starboard sides of the hull as well along the spinal ridge in front of the warship's command tower. This made the Militus a proficient destroyer hunter, theoretically able to keep up with smaller and faster ships.

However, because of the ship's decrease in offensive weaponry the Militus is not geared towards fighting other battlecruisers.

This is tricky, because ratings only compare ships of the same size class, and are specifically mentioned as not being directly comparable in the template itself.

I'd probably change the wording to here to "designed to catch up to smaller destroyers" or something similar.

As personal opinion, I don't think that this would have a trouble catching up with a star destroyer with a "very low" or maybe even a "low" speed rating if they're larger destroyers, but anything else than might be more tricky.

This looks to me like it will "definitely" catch up to smaller destroyers. This very specifically needs to have wording to ensure that this is not a definite outcome. My old, personal standby is "designed to", but "possibly" and "potentially" would also be good modifiers for this sentence.

Same thing here.
