OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To update and advance the Miazaki Militia submission, reflecting Junko Ike's ongoing efforts to develop and professionalize the local defense force of her village. This unit will serve as a tangible example of her commitment to her people and their self-sufficiency, providing a capable, grounded defensive element for RP.

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Miazaki Territorial Guard
  • Affiliation: Junko Ike Junko Ike
  • Classification: Planetary Guard / Light Infantry
  • Description: The Miazaki Territorial Guard is the evolution of the former village militia. While still composed primarily of local farmers and artisans, they now boast a standardized uniform of durable grey and green fatigues, a simple but effective armored vest, and a distinct unit patch featuring the silhouette of the local mountain range overlaid with a stylized sakura blossom, symbolizing their duty to protect Junko's home. Their mindset remains fiercely protective of their home and families, but they now carry themselves with the discipline and pride of a formalized guard unit, having traded ad-hoc weaponry for standardized gear.
COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Unit Size: Medium (The Guard is organized into squads of 10-15 individuals, allowing for flexible deployment across the territory.)
  • Unit Availability: Uncommon (While larger than the original militia, the Guard is still a localized force. Recruits are drawn from a single, small population base, and training, while improved, takes time away from vital community work, making them replaceable but not easily so.)
  • Unit Experience: Trained (No longer rabble, the Guard undergoes regular, structured drills led by Junko and any visiting Commonwealth Soldiers. They are proficient with their equipment and know the local terrain intimately, but they lack the extensive combat experience of a standing army. This accurately reflects their growth from "Rabble" to a competent, if green, defensive force.)
  • Equipment:
  • Combat Function: The Guard's primary function is area denial and defense-in-depth within their home territory. They utilize their superior knowledge of the local landscape to set up ambushes, patrol routes, and early warning systems. They are not a shock force; their doctrine is to harass, delay, and report invading forces, acting as a "tripwire" and force multiplier for Silver Jedi assets. They also handle local security, crowd control, and serve as a well-organized core for disaster relief efforts.
STRENGTHS
  • Homefield Advantage: Every member of the Guard was born and raised in the territory they protect. They know every forest trail, drainage ditch, and hidden cave, allowing them to move, hide, and strike with an efficiency that off-world troops could never match.
  • Hearts and Minds: As community members first and soldiers second, they have the unwavering support of the local population. This provides them with excellent intelligence, secure supply lines, and the moral high ground of defending their own homes.
WEAKNESSES
  • Localized Deployment: The Guard's authority, knowledge, and effectiveness are almost entirely limited to their immediate territory. Deploying them beyond their home region would see a drastic drop in their combat effectiveness, as they would lose their primary advantage and be just another group of lightly trained infantry.
  • Limited Sustainment: They lack heavy weapons, advanced sensors, medical facilities, and logistical depth for a prolonged engagement. A sustained, high-intensity conflict against a professional military would quickly attrit their numbers and break their supply chain, as their production and recruitment base is a single village.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The unit began as Junko Ike's answer to a simple problem: her personal guards couldn't be everywhere. The "Miazaki Militia" was formed from able-bodied farmers and craftsmen, given basic tools and a mandate to protect their homes. For a time, this was sufficient—a rabble of determined hearts.

As Junko's influence and the village's prosperity grew, so too did the threats it faced. Junko recognized that goodwill alone wouldn't stop a determined invader. She began a formalization process, investing in standardized equipment from trusted galactic manufacturers and instituting a mandatory, rotating training schedule that she often led personally.

The militia was rechristened the Miazaki Territorial Guard, a name that reflected their broader responsibility and more professional standing. They were given a proper uniform and emblem, fostering a stronger sense of unit cohesion and pride. While they remain farmers and woodworkers at their core, they now stand ready as a trained, equipped, and organized shield for their home, a direct reflection of Lady Junko's dedication to their safety and self-reliance. They are the people, and they defend the people.

The years have been kind as Atrisia prospered and prepared so to did the other worlds associated with them and the Commonwealth. The post-scarcity resources, wealth and pursuits coming to Shri-Tal and more importantly Junko shared it with the village that had taken her in. Improving their equipment and turning the palace, the village and everything into a Summer Palaace she could visit at certain times of year. Or as a place where she can let friends, lovers, allies stay. Ahri usually using it while she is out exploring and offering it to Everest Vale Everest Vale and Tigris Aphra Tigris Aphra for a few nights. The privacy of the palace was one thing but the villagers who would defend and welcome them mostly there to share a sense of peace.
