Loomi Reyallus Atelle. That was her full name. It was not a name that she had ever known in her life, as she had not been given the dignity to be raised by any who would have used in. Her mother had shared with her lots of things that she didn't know. Reyallus was supposedly the name of an ancestor, one who slew some sort of flying beast that invaded Ord Providence long ago. What she described sounded like Mynocks, but she didn't have the heart to tell her Mother that. Lunaria seemed to have been brought a great deal of joy having a daughter again. Loomi got the idea that there was a lot of repressed regret that she felt she needed to atone for. In some ways reconnecting seemed to sooth her pain. The young woman was more than happy to do this. After all, she hadn't had this connection in her life before. Now she was taking her own Mother to do things that she had never done before. It turned out being part of an elite cast that forbid contact with the outside world made you pretty sheltered.

But what Loomi was bringing her mother to now wasn't just new for her. She was in the dark as well, for what lie beyond were waters she had not yet crossed. The notion of leaving the life of a padawan behind made her heart flutter. It was the only life she had known that wasn't like the pain of the life before, the life where she had been the captive of those who sought to use her abilities. She hardly recognized herself in the mirror anymore. Her face looked different, even with the same scar in the same place. Yet even so, her heart beat with determination. Loomi wanted more than anything else to make her family proud.

Both her Mother and the Order. Her family was both.

As she stood outside the chamber where the deed would be done, within the Sellian Jedi Praxeum, her Mother stood next to her. Lunaria was out of her depth. The life of a Jedi was very foreign to her. Yet even so, this was truly the first time in her life where she had the freedom to be present for her daughter.

"Are... you certain you feel well?" Lunaria asked. "I could always get you some medication..."

"Mother..." Loomi sighed, reacting with a slight laugh. "It's just nerves. I'll be okay."

"Right..." the former elder muttered. "You... have left a strong impression on these people. I'm glad that you found your way to them. That brings me a great deal of peace... I won't hold you up any longer, sorry..."

"It's okay," the younger Godoan assured. "You'll know exactly where to find me when it's done."

Sellia II had become the home of the Godoan people from Ord Providence after the domes failed. Their cast system, in turn, was all but destroyed. The people had been in a bit of a daze sense, trying to maintain their faith and their friendly disposition. It was apparent, however, that the lack of infrastructure was bringing withdrawals. Senator Valette Puritis Yumia Valette Puritis Yumia was doing her best to shamble together a government of sorts. In the meantime the praxeum was packed, becoming a medical facility for those exposed to Clouzon-36 when the domes were depressurized. It was for that reason that Loomi requested her ceremony happen here. She hoped it would raise moral, if only a little.

She gave her mother a brisk hug before stepping through the doors of the chamber prepared for her ceremony. It was nothing fancy, but the space was filled with faces. Some she recognized, some she didn't. Tirin Raene Tirin Raene awaited her at the front. There was no sense to delay any further.

Loomi Loomi

It felt like only yesterday that Tirin stumbled upon the little Godoan asleep amidst the gardens of Coruscant. He still remembered the way her tiny hands clumsily wove a dreamcatcher with his guidance, how she preferred the glittering feathers and how it helped her nestle into the comfort it brought against the nightmares. She had welcomed Aliris Tremiru Aliris Tremiru with open arms, in ways Tirin himself couldn't.

Over the years, he had the privilege of being a steady presence in Loomi's life offering her a grounding force during her most turbulent moments. He had watched that sweet, kind-hearted little girl blossom into a radiant young woman, wise beyond her years, carrying a heart so vast it seemed to encompass the entire galaxy.

The little Godoan now knelt before him, strong and poised, eyes reflecting the heart of a true Jedi. The weight of the moment pressed down and there was a small swell of pride.

He ignited his lightsaber, the gold blade casting a warm, radiant glow over them both. It hummed softly in the silence as he lifted it, bringing it to rest just above her left shoulder.

"Loomi" Tirin began, voice steady yet warm, "by the will of the Force and the strength of your heart, you have proven yourself to be more than just a student. You have faced your fears, embraced your compassion, and stood as a beacon of light for all who have crossed your path."

The golden blade moved over her right shoulder, a symbolic severing of the past and of her days as a Padawan. The light refracted like tiny stars across her features as it moved.

"By the right of the Council, and the teachings I have passed to you, and the bond we have shared, I name you Jedi, Knight of the Order. Protector of the innocent. Guardian of the Light."

The lightsaber extinguished with a soft hiss, and Tirin extended a hand to Loomi.

"Rise, Loomi, Jedi Knight . Stand tall and let your light shine across the stars."

This was not the first Knighting that Gem-in-Trash had been to. It wasn't even the only one where she'd known the new Knight. But Loomi Loomi was different - they hadn't met often, but they had been on training missions together before, they had worked together.

There weren't many 'Jedi Festivals' out there, but this was certainly as close as they got to one. Especially when you'd grown up in the Jedi Order the way Gem had. Festivities like this were far and few between, and they'd gone all out, by Gem's standards. as such, Gem loved Knightings. At the first Knighting Gem had been to, she had slipped away and climbed into the rafters to get a better look, and nobody had even realized she'd been up there.

But Master Tirin Raene Tirin Raene was the one doing the Knighting, and she felt uneasy at the idea of stepping out of line with him, and she was excited for Loomi anyway, so she didn't do anything like that. This time.

She even wore her robes. She'd already run around the celebration hall, met some of the local kids - children of local fancy-dos or friends of Loomi's mom - and made friends with them, and stuffed her face with as many hors d'oeuvres that she could fit in her mouth before the ceremony had started when the caterers hadn't been looking.

Okay maybe she would cause a little bit of trouble.

Standing still for the ceremony hadn't been easy, but Gem only managed to fidget in excitement while she was in the audience with all the other Jedi and Padawans in attendance. They weren't supposed to cheer and applaud. It was a lot of standing in the dark with their hoods up. But Gem managed to persevere, one part of her mind thinking of what she was going to say to Loomi, the other part of her mind thinking which of the foods she'd liked the most.

Among the rows of those gathered stood a small Wookiee cub, Kuhbee. He was craning his neck to catch a glimpse of the ceremony unfolding at the front. His fur was still soft with youth, his satchel too big for his shoulder, but his eyes were wide with awe. Jedi Knight Loomi, it had a great ring to it and the young Wookie was so excited to know that a fellow Jedi was leveling up. Kuhbee gripped the edge of his cloak with nervous excitement, heart pounding with dreams of lightsabers and heroism.

He barely understood all the traditions, but one thing he knew: the Order was growing, and one day—maybe not soon, but someday—his time would come too.

And oh, what stories he would tell when it did.

Upon learning of where and when Loomi’s knighting was taking place the Temple Guard had made a special request to be stationed at the Sellia Jedi Praxeum during it. There was no hiding the fact that it was more of a personal favor than out of an actual sense of duty.

However there was some practical merit behind getting to be there. Ko had never actually visited Sellia and by extension its Jedi Praxeum. It was worthwhile to learn of the location and its unique properties. A temple snuggly hung from the branches of a massive tree was quite magnificent to the nature lover. Feeling like it gave the temple a strong connection to The Force.

Ko wasn’t on duty for the modest ceremony so he wasn’t dressed in the typical temple guard uniform. He didn’t wanna hide behind any anonymity here. He stood amongst those who were gathered, likely the only Kel Dor present so he wouldn’t be very hard to miss. His posture was straight and attentive with his hands kept together in front of him.

This had gotten to be the first knighting ceremony that Ko has actually gotten to see since regaining his sight again. Part of him felt that it was rather fitting.

He watched silently as Master Raene knighted the now adult Godoan. Once it was complete Ko had raised his clawed hands up to chest level and clapped for Loomi, the new knight.

Valery stood near the back of the chamber, her arms folded loosely across her chest, the faintest smile tugging at the corner of her lips as she watched Loomi step into the room. She didn't move to greet her — not yet. This was the young woman's moment, her passage, and Valery had no intention of standing in its way.

But Force, was she proud.

In the soft golden light that filtered through the chamber's high windows, Loomi looked almost otherworldly — not because of the ceremonial setting, but because she carried herself differently now. Straighter. Steadier. As if the weight of her past no longer dragged her down, but had been reshaped into something strong enough to build a future with.

Valery remembered when Loomi had first arrived — uncertain, but burning with quiet determination even then. She'd seen the fire in her. The courage behind the hesitation. The heart that refused to break, no matter how often the galaxy tried to shatter it. And now here she was.

Not just standing in front of a crowd — standing for something. For her people. For her mother. For herself.

With a quiet exhale, Valery clasped her hands behind her back and let the moment unfold, silent in the crowd but unmistakably present. Loomi would know she was here. She didn't need to say anything — not yet.

This was the Padawan's final step.

And the Knight's first.

There was stillness. Here, there was breath.

Connel Vanagor, towering and quiet, turned to face the newly knighted Jedi. The younger one stood tall, lightsaber clipped at their side, eyes full of fire and questions — the kind that don't fade with rank, only deepen. Connel's voice was low, roughened by war but grounded like bedrock. You've walked the path. You've bled. You've stood between chaos and hope. That's what earns the blade — not the ceremony.

He stepped forward, placing one gloved hand over the new Knight's shoulder, firm but not heavy. There will be those who call you hero now. Some will call you a weapon. Others will call you a symbol.

His gaze met theirs, unwavering. But none of those things matter as much as what you call yourself — when you're alone, when it's quiet, and the only voice you hear is your own.

He let the silence settle, like falling ash after a battle.

Then, a faint nod. A rare one. Congratulations, Knight. Keep your blade steady. And your soul steadier.

And with that, Connel turned, vanishing back into the Praxeum and slowly disappeared — the shadow that reminded Jedi what it really meant to stand in the light. He did not leave to be rude, or a loack of social skill. He left because he was working, and this ceremony was not about him. It was about Loomi. She deserved to enjoy this.

"Rise, Loomi, Jedi Knight . Stand tall and let your light shine across the stars."

Loomi let out a soft exhale as she stood. That wasn't how that usually went... she had heard the words before. Tirin had said something different. Of course he did. She felt her lower quiver, but maintained her composure. A Jedi knight.

The young woman stepped forward and gave her master a brisk hug.

"Thank you," she muttered, "I promise I'll visit you and Valin..."

She remembered how she felt the day they had met, the despair that seemed to always follow her. Tirin had done so much to help her grow past that and feel comfortable in her own skin. The Godoan stepped back and steadied herself, keeping her emotions in check. She was getting better at that. It seemed like an inevitability that she might cry, but that could wait for a while. Maybe she could make it through...

...Congratulations, Knight. Keep your blade steady. And your soul steadier.

Loomi gave the knight a respectful dip of her head as he departed. She didn't know him well, but kind words were kind words. They were good to hear. From there her gaze shifted out to look at all the faces who had arrived. Valery Noble Valery Noble , Gem-in-Trash Gem-in-Trash , Kuhbee Kuhbee ... Familiar faces and new ones, the next generation of Padawans. She didn't know them well, but she was happy they were here too...

But then she saw Ko. Her first friend, and that was the genuine truth of it. Of all the people who had been present for her new life, he had been there since the beginning. And he could see her. She felt his gaze from behind his goggles.

The young Jedi Knight strode over to him first. She had to. Wordlessly, she stepped forward and gave him a tight hug, burring her face into the shoulder of her surrogate brother.

"Sorry Ko," Loomi laughed in a hushed tone, her face hidden from view. "I think I'm crying all over your robes..."

Tirin's words had broken her resolve down more than she thought...

Cora stood next to Ko Vuto Ko Vuto , the pair watching in reverent silence as Master Raene's golden blade swept over the Godoan's shoulders. Knightings were becoming more frequent among the Order, as the eldest of the Padawan Pack aged into stalwart defenders.

For a few long moments, Cora glanced to the Kel'dor. She and Ko had been in the same cohort, and they'd watched many of their comrades fall in battle or vanish, swallowed by the inky vastness of the galaxy.

Loomi Loomi had a gentle heart. After she'd returned from her ordeal on Ukatis, the then-fledgling weaver fought through her own anxiety to try and cheer the blonde up. Cora was pleased to see that through her trials, she'd retained her compassionate nature – not just pleased, but assured. So often was kindness lost in a galaxy of strife.

Cora watched the wordless exchange between Ko and Loomi, the latter pressing her face into the former's robes. She chuckled quietly, once, before taking a step back to allow the pair their space.

Well done, Loomi.

A simple yet warm sentiment would drift through the Force to touch the newly minted Knight's mind.

One by one as time past Ko was finding his generation of young Jedi growing into Knights. A found family of brothers and sisters. People he'd often feel more close to now than his own surviving relatives on Dorin. Standing next to him was one such Jedi, Corazona. A fellow elder of their generation and green thumb. At a certain point he glanced over at the noble woman to find her looking at him. Meeting her gaze for a brief moment through his goggles. Before suddenly being ambushed by Loomi.

Ko was a bit surprised to find his surrogate sister, Loomi, had pressed into him. Raising his hands up awkwardly as she hugged him for a moment before returning the embrace.

A soft chuckle escaped his mask from her comment. This has now probably marked the third time he has found someone crying on his robes. First was with Braze, and the second time was with a lost child he’d uncovered on Coruscant after the Dark Empire’s attack on the planet.

“That’s alright Loomi, it’s not an issue.” Now his little yellow friend was all grown up. She even looked like she had new legs too, hopefully more appropriately fitted to her than her previous models.

The two of them had sort of started their journeys together. Ko had been working among the Jedi for years prior but he had dedicated himself to study as a padawan for knighthood not long before Loomi had joined the order. He just had a bit of a head start in age and experience.

“I’m glad I could be here now. I wasn’t sure if I was gonna be able to make it. I suppose Master Tekka saw my request for a temporary assignment to this temple as appropriate…”
