Metal Gear Silver: SJO Dominion of Nixor

[member="Josh Dragonsflame"] [member="John Locke"]

"I imagine because they are worried we'll figure out they work with the clearing house." She sat there and looked up at the two of them as they had been talking. "At least my impression from the few conversations I could hear, they were already fuly aware of it at least here. Seems a rational idea as slavers, pirates are not attacking here and they could." She moved through the computer and was scrolling back. "Based on their dating system I can go back to the clone wars and empire... they sheltered jedi, the jedi got them to fight and resist and there was a lot of destruction. After that there isn't much until a few years ago when their military got several advances in technology almost overnight."

She brought it up. "I would suspect whoever owns the clearinghouse... they might not have made the asteroid mine... like that was from Nixors past and left alone. SOmeone came and traded them enough to make a deal. Maybe...." She thought about it and smirked. "Maybe they made a deal, they keep the pirates, slavers, criminals away from the planet. THe people of Nixor don't involve themselves in the affairs of the clearing house." She shrugged. "We have a few hours to research it and try to find some facts. I imagine they will be monitoring us and what we look for but they don't know what might happen if they attack or kill a group of jedi."

A smile tugged at her lips though as she sat back in the seat. "If we go with the theory that the clearing house is protecting the planet then the planet is likely protecting the clearing house. The hutts would hate competition so no planet confirming it is around and not having a hutt presence in hutt space is rare... beneficial even. We just have to try and see if any of it is true though in talks and if it is go from there trying to convince them we are the better choice. If it isn't true then we can adjust and work on the delivery. We aren't just going to convince them because we are the silver jedi order we will fix everything."

"You think sassing them would work?" Josh would ask lightheartedly, promptly flicking his wrist in flamboyant fashion. "Do we look like the Republic to you?" He cited in a potential quote to use, though the look he gave John made it clear he was genuinely at least halfway considering the idea. Though afterwords, his expression returned to a more serious visage again. "Honestly, it might be best to just be open and honest with them" He would admit. "It's that or play politics like anyone else who hasn't managed to secure relations with them yet, and hope that we'll be the special spaceflakes that somehow manage to pull it off based on natural charm... Despite their clear dislike for Jedi."

He didn't like to admit it, but the deck had been completely stacked against them. The Jedi Master paced around the area, clearly lost in thought a bit as he was trying to concoct a plan in short order.

“I guess the point I’m trying to make here is… We have to make our own luck” He would admit straight up. “We can’t rely on odds that are heavily stacked against us. It might very well be we might have to, as I said, be open about the truth of events. We are not the Republic and it has been a long kriffing time since the Jedi gave them trouble - unintentionally, mind. The truth of the matter though… Is that just because they turn down working with us here; that doesn’t automatically mean they will be safe for another thousand years from people that might seek to gain from attacking. Especially when they clearly have the resources they do. We found them, didn’t we? We found them, who says the Sith won’t? The difference is if they aren’t working with us and the Sith attack… Well they won’t have any help. That is reality. They can throw the ancient past at us all they want, but it doesn't change the facts of here and now."

He smiled slightly as John began his research. He had been planning to recommend he do so anyway, so he could appreciate him taking the initiative. He listened to Wu's ideas next, and pondered them a moment.

"That's a likely idea, them agreeing to not get involved in affairs in exchange for leniency... But at the same time, that won't protect them against threats outside of that sphere. Like the Sith, for example. And I doubt pirates are going to come to their rescue."

Objective: 1.3 (Recover Gregory Avun)
Allies: [member="Cassius Droma"]
Enemies: Pirates

Moving through the door after Cassius, Liuna replaced her slicing kit. Her footsteps were light, lithe... silent. Just ahead, her Jedi companion moved with equal grace, the two of them slipping through the stairwell like shadows against a wall.

Having reached their floor, she paused a moment as Cassius did a quick check of the hallway. But, there were no forces present there – she guessed that most were clustered around their prize, Mr. Avun. Liuna crouched slightly as they went, and her boots came to a soft halt as her fellow Shadow signaled.

The Mirialan watched with interest as Cassius closed his eyes. Yes, they had a huge advantage here. The force was such a foreign power to Liuna, as she did not possess it for herself. But, she kept her senses as sharp as they could be – honed to notice even small sounds, or movements. She sent a quick glance over her shoulder, just to make sure no one was creeping up behind them.

Gotcha,” Liuna said, whispering low to acknowledge the plan.

The two flowed into the room, as Cassius went left, Liuna turned right – where she was immediately met with a rather large man. His brows had just started to lift in surprise, when the swift edge of Liuna's boot came in contact with his face. He stood, dazed, until she gave him another kick to the chest to send him to the ground. A few standing around Avun had turned – and quickly realized their blasters failed to work. One of the men charged towards Liuna. She turned to the side, dodging the knife he trust at her. She grabbed for his wrist, twisting his arm until the blade dropped. Using his weight against him, Liuna gave a small grunt as she flipped him to the floor.

Bring it, she thought... watching as the others advanced.

Dahlia sipped her caf, leaving a scarlet lipstick print on the edge of her mug. She looked down at her data pad, the screen of which displayed a news article about Gregory Avun. Her dark eyes scrutinized the man's image, almost as if searching for flaws. Spotless, she mused, just like his record – her own sources had looked into it. He was the poster child for philanthropy and positive change.

Avun was the kind of man that was not easily corrupted – just the kind of man she hated most.

This edge of Hutt Space had been a problem for a long time. One man would make little difference. But, it was the ripple of change that Avun had started – it would only grow. People that lived in the area called for safer streets, businesses looked to have secure routes for their cargo, they would fall right into Avun's sway. Dahlia realized this, so did the pirates, slavers, and spice runners in this part of space. If things got better, their business of crime would suffer.

It had been her wish to take Avun out of the game early on. These pirates had been ever keen to accept the job, especially after receiving some funds from one of her aliases to fuel their ships. After all, Avun would be waging war against them – this benefited both of them. But now, Dahlia sat and nibbled her manicured nail, a bad habit, she knew... Perhaps it had been a mistake to entrust such a task to a motley crew.

Her brow arched slowly. If they failed... Dahlia would make sure that they paid dearly.

Objective: 1
Tagging: [member="Varindar Asyt"]

"This is Hotelier: what will work for me may not work for you: I don't have enough disinfectants to effect a fumigation on the whole station, so I'll have to focus on where I am. There are pests where I am"

Asaraa could hear Varindar's voice over the comms, a warning that the other Jedi's trick wouldn't work for her, a statement that had Asaraa nodding her head as she turned away from the door, and the guards stationed there as one hand came back up to her ear. "That's ok Hotelier, I'll figure out another way into the captives." She couldn't just walk in the door, even under force cloak, that was too much and someone was bound to notice. Instead, she'd need something to disguise her approach, to provide her with the cover she needed to get into the captives, and then get them out again. The problem wasn't one with an apparent answer, at least not one that popped out to the young knight as she retreated away from the scene, right through an open door so she could gather her thoughts, right into the residential quarters...a smile slowly blossomed on Asaraa's face as she glanced around. Oh, this was something she could work with.

It was ten minutes later she emerged from the door she'd slipped through, ten minutes she had used to maximum effect, trading out her normal clothes for a set of overalls, pink hair curled up beneath a cap. All it took was a simple illusion to turn the pink hair a dark brown as Asaraa staggered towards the guards, a bottle clasped in her hands. The Jedi raised the bottle, grinning at them as she used the movement to throw the force out at them, stunning both of the guards even as she spoke. "You guys wanna party! There's a big shindig down at the..uhh there. Free booze...guys?" She prodded at the two guards as the slumped over as she sniffed loudly, "Asleep...seriously." Pawing open the door she wandered inside, "Anyone here wanna go to the party?" The room was empty of guards, the crew members she'd sensed chained to the floor, but what was a chain against the power of the force, a heartbeat passed then two as Asaraa wielded the force, not like a scalpel but a hammer, reducing the chains to dust as she gestured urgently at the captives. "Come on, come on, before someone notices they're asleep outside and decides you guys are more valuable with them." She knew the crews were scared and no doubt a little confused by her sudden appearance but they didn't have time to explain. As the group staggered back out into the light, clutching at one another Asaraa promised herself to explain it all to them, but later...when she'd got them to safety.

Objective 1: Hostage rescue
Allies: [member="Asaraa Vaashe"]
Enemies: Pirates

"This place is infested with pests: we're effecting a fumigation. Please rally to the indicated coordinates"

With the hostages being moved out of the base thanks to a fumigation being effected on that loction, Varindar could now hook up the pressure tank filled with the substances necessary to effect that fumigation. Hopefully it will put the guards asleep, and they realize perhaps that their own sanitation was worth a fumigation on the section that had the pests in them. It was only now that she released the sleep gas mixed in with disinfectants. Pests were everywhere, insects that ate the airborne poison left behind a trail of dead pests as the hostages are leaving the room, under escort from some agents disguised as security guards. But, as usual when fumigation is effected, Varindar had to ensure the other occupanes are keeping a safe distance before the gases are used, and make sure the gases are properly released: any mishap can be fatal with insecticides. In fact, Varindar seemed to conflate disinfection with fumigation, and once the fumigation was underway and into the venting pipes of the facility, she hoped the hostages would be able to get to safety.

Objective: 1.3 (Recover Gregory Avun)
Allies: [member="Liuna Ondizi"]
Enemies: Pirates

Between them, the room would be pretty evenly divided. As Liuna worked on the pirates to the right side of the room, Cassius ran in, first coming to a pale-skinned Sullustan. Jumping somewhat beside him and past him, he grabbed the man’s forehead along the way, pulling the humanoid of off their feet. In the same motion, he stuck his foot out and struck a Zabrak female, making her stumble back for a moment.

The third of Cassius’s targets, a human male, pointed their blaster at his head and pulled the trigger, only to hear a soft click and nothing else. Before the human could even register that something was wrong with his weapon, he was telekinetically shoved into the wall behind him. The Zabrak crawled back up to their feet, and they swung a punch that actually connected with Cassius’s cheek.

Recovering quickly, Cassius retrieved his lightsaber from his belt and activated it, swinging it towards the horned woman, and then towards the Sullustan that had managed to get back up. The blade was only active for a few moments before retreating back into its hilt, but it had done its job. By being in its default non-lethal setting, he was able to simply use the lightsaber as a jo staff rather than a lethal weapon. It wasn’t exactly the quietest thing, but Cassius knew he wasn’t the best at hand-to-hand combat.

When the room was cleared, Cassius turned to Gregory Avun, who had been sat on a couch in the middle of the room. “Mr. Avun?” Cassius asked, and the older businessman responded by slowly nodded their head. “We’re here to rescue you.” Grabbing the man’s armpit, Cassius helped him stand to his feet, and then willed the cuffs around his wrists to unlock with the Force.

“There are other Jedi saving the rest of the hostages as we speak,” Cassius began to explain as he headed towards the door, “but we’ll need to be quick.”

Objective 3:
The Silver Jedi negotiators have convinced the Nixorans to allow the Silver Jedi to deploy an outpost on the moon, a premade garrison pod, to prevent any further such incidents from occurring. The new outpost needs to be settled in and set up before the Silver Jedi forces leave the system so we know of any other pirates using the system. (OOC: This objective is occurring after the negotiations have been completed and the pirate base has been cleared up.)

Goals: Help set up an outpost on the moon of Nixor and connect it back to the Silver Jedi’s communication system.

With the Jedi Assault Cruiser stationed overhead the Moon of Nixor, the Crew had begun to unload resources and personnel, transporting them down to the Moon's surface to assist with the construction and security of the Silver Jedi Outpost. Veiere Arenais, [member="Yuroic Xeraic"] and [member="Tom Taff"] would each be down there included among these people, each taking charge to organize and facilitate the operation.

The Outpost would be a size-able facility and thanks to the Sasori Drop-pods, their would be a fair sized compliment of troops and ground based vehicles stationed there for the facilities defense. The Outpost would include a Hangar Bay for the use of several Starfighter squadrons and personnel transports that would move back and fourth between there and Nixor itself when the people required the Silver Jedi to intervene or assist them in any way.

As Veiere had expected, the mission went relatively smoothly and there seemed to be no trouble from pirates or any such rabble in the sector. With the Governments approval, the Silver Jedi Order was now set up to operate within the system and keep yet another world under their banner safe and secure from the tyranny of the Galaxies more aggressive forces. Along with a sense of achievement in the missions success, Veiere felt quite proud of what they had done, and it gave him something of a sentimental feeling about Nixor, having helped to build and found the outpost that would become a pivotal deterrence to conflict for Nixor's future.

"I imagine because they are worried we'll figure out they work with the clearing house."

It took a moment for John to really process that before he span around, but Josh had already accepted it, so it must have been something that was accepted, something that everybody did. It's boggled the mind that anyone would willingly work with slavers, but then, to defend their world what else could they do? The man sat there for a moment, his hands resting still on the keyboard as he tried to imagine himself in their shoes. It was...terrifying but at the same time, it was events like that that you found a measure of who you were, and if you had no ability to defend yourself. "Josh is right," John turned back to the computer, pulling up more data files, dark eyes flicking across the screen as he pulled up wave after wave of historical records. "If they don't want to be involved with the galaxy, that's great but it sounds like they already are. Even by making a deal with the owners of the Clearinghouse up there, they've gotten involved in the goings on of the galaxy. As you say Master Wu, by not informing the Hutts they'd make it harder for them to find the clearinghouse." The man span around to stare at his companions, "but we all know that the Hutt's would have found it eventually, and when that happens the clearinghouse will just run. But the planet that didn't inform them about competitors setting up shop in their space? I think that might be a more immediate concern for our hosts than the Sith. We all know what an angry Hutt is capable of doing to a planetary population."

It all came down to the spaceport, John didn't think that there would be much in the way of arrival and departure records, not for a spaceport, but if you had such...important guests coming you'd want to appease them slightly, so maybe if he examined the records of government vehicles. "I think we're onto a solid line of negotiation there, if we offer to treat with them, to protect them just as the pirates did, but at least this way they don't need to worry about Sith or Hutt retaliation, we're known for not budging or giving up our territory or letting others do as they will to those under our protection, and unlike the Hutts or some other governments who might have come across them, we don't even ask for anything in return. Seems like the perfect deal for them." And there it was, a government vehicle, a luxury government vehicle being dispatched out to teh spaceport, only a small iota of information, but hopefully it would help Master Wu with teh rest of her negotiations.

Objective 1: Time to go
Location: Leaving the Bazaar and boarding the ship
Tags: @Dahlia
Post: 3
No one tried stopping Sebastian nor his party as he left the bazaar nor did anyone try stopping him at the airlock to his ship. It was suprising as he thought for sure he would be on the SJO's capture or kill list by now but then again they hadn't officially seen him in any case so perhaps none of the knew who he was or perhaps had never found the many trails he had left attempting to lead them to discover his name. In any case he left leaving the pirates and others to their fates at the hands of the Jedi.

Boarding his ship, his group immediately jumped out of system rather than risk capture again. Arriving in an unknown system not one of the Jedi's that was for sure he made a call to the private number he had be told. As the hologram would come on for @Dahila it would show a rather tallish pink haired man standing their with a very clear pirate captain on his right hand side. "I wish to speak to the Lady who hired those brutes who failed her."

Objective 2
[member="John Locke"] @Joshua Dragonsflame

She looked at the jedi as he spoke. "I don't see any sith around, precaution can be good but you don't throw away wha works for what might happen. The sith have little reason to want to invade here and if anything us being around might bring them more repeating what they have experienced in the past." She said it and sat there looking over the information. "THough normally a good team of jedi investigators would gather all of the information. going into a negotiation cold like this wasn't ideal but assuming the clearinghouse is cleared out it could open some dialogue with them." Her eyes flicked over the screens though, let her mind rush about it as a smile crept across her face.

"THough this might be able to work in our advantage." She looked at her chrono with a nod of her head. "Alright it is almost time for us to return to the table... maybe an actual table this time." She said the last as a joke but was listening when the doors opened to escort them though and the jedi master was moving with her back straight. SMall statue towered by the others and she looked up at all of them. She tried to really work on it while reading their expression but there wasn't much to go by... there wasn't a lot that the three of them might be able to discover... just a theory of her own. "She looked at JOhn who had spoken though and motioned for the Nixor to wait.

"But what is a hutt, they are a business empire, built on profits. Massing their men means they would want to use the most loyal to ensure no information gets out. That is an expense, arming the ships to handle possible thrats since clearing houses curry pirate ships and modify them to make the crews and captain pay off the debts, can get expensive, the credits they expended to have the location of a normally mobile entity. Expensive... punishing an entire planet might give them some measure of revenge but it could also be another expense when they are at a lost and that will make them lose status among their own clan or the others."

She said it and motioned though for them to come and join them. Listening to the conversation between the two men. Their natural language was there in the translator... several billion forms of communication were and thanks to the tech division they always had the latest and best improvements. "Us clearing out the pirates does little to alter the day to day of the planet if anything it just means that they don't have to think about something else and can focus back on what they want. You are making the assumption that they can't defend themselves and while true they lack a fleet or massive ground army. They likely could resist if they wanted to but not beyond their world."

After all it was easy to come to a planet and be the superior... but sith had different goals same as the jedi... The Nixor were united in their purpose more so then many and that was important to them. Some might want to leave the world and likely could or did ships were known to arrive on the planet so why not get a local to act as crew. Her mind was racing about what they could do and how much to press that she noticed they had gone through into a room. The wrap around window letting her look out on the garden as a table had been set out for all of the people and Wu took a seat across from some of the Nixor. "Alright lets begin."

Objective: 1.3 (Recover Gregory Avun)

Enemies: Pirates

Breathing hard, Liuna looked around the room – pirates scattered about, and a suited man seated on the sofa, hands bound. She couldn't help but smirk slightly, she'd escaped the fray with minimal damage, but she'd surely have a few new bruises. And, as she wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, there was a small streak of blood that marked her glove. It seemed that Cassius had done well, he was still up and moving. In fact, he was already helping the man she could only assume was Gregory Avun.

She stepped up as the man confirmed his identity with a small nod. Good, this was step one complete. Now they needed to get him to safety. Looking at the Jedi and the philanthropist, Liuna knew that Cassius had a few more skills he could use to keep the other man safe. His mysterious force use could produce shields and barriers, if she understood correctly.

And so, she decided that it would be her turn to take the lead back to the ship.

“Let's get going,” She said, nodding.

Slipping out the door, Liuna made a quick check of the hallway outside before motioning for them to come out. With any luck, the pirates were sufficiently stunned and surprised, which would likely give them a few extra minutes before they called for help. Back down the stairwell she went, Cassius and Avun in tow – hopefully their way to the ship would be equally clear.

As they descended the staircase, Cassius retrieved a small, boxy device from his belt. “Here, you’ll need this,” he said to Avun, hooking the device to the other man’s belt and stabbing it with his finger to activate it. A wave of shimmering blue pixels passed over Avun’s face, gifting him with a new one. It wasn’t exactly drastically different from his normal face, but it was enough to not have anyone recognize him.

They managed to slip out of the apartment complex without much incident. Some of the apartment dwellers seemed to know that something had happened on the third floor, but either were too afraid to check, or too apathetic to care. Either way, the crowd helped conceal them from other prying eyes. The constant sea of people ebbed back and forth as they made a beeline for the spaceport.

In a private hangar sat the Spectre Melody. As they approached, Avun remarked, “VCX. Nice model.” Cassius nodded as he pressed a button on his datapad attached to his belt, signaling the ramp to start lowering. “Thanks. She’s relatively new. I like to keep her clean.” His head remained on a swivel as they walked towards the ramp. It was the first time since he’d gotten here that he felt completely out in the open.

Stepping up the ramp and climbing the ladder, the trio were now in the cockpit of the light freighter. Sitting in the pilot’s seat, Cassius began their pre-flight checks, skipping over a few of the non-essential ones in order to speed things up a little.

“Strap in, everyone,” Cassius said. “It could get a little bumpy.”

After a smooth take-off the landing gear retracted and the ship whirled around, facing outward. Cassius punched the throttle, shooting them out of the space station and out into space, where they could see the planet Nixor nearby.

Objective 2

"We found them. And they have something we potentially want. If they have something of interest to a Force-using group... Well, connect the dots" Josh pointed out calmly toward [member="Wu Yeoh-Mei"] and left it at that, keeping his thoughts to himself beyond the one statement. Josh despised slavers, and already wasn't a huge fan of this group for working with them. But they would handle these matters one at a time, he decided. Ruusan's Temple was not built in a day, after all. But John was right that while they were a threat, the Hutts were a more immediate concern, and Josh nodded his head in turn. John would take what had been said and devise a strategy, one Josh could agree with.

"It's a deal I doubt they'll refuse if they've done their research and know our reputation" Josh agreed toward [member="John Locke"] as he would consider the idea a bit further. "Now that we've made our first impressions, I think it'll be a bit less hectic for me to be involved this time around as well. So here's my question.. Do we trust them to come and get us and bring us for negotiations? Or do you think they intend to leave us here until pirates arrive to loot us?" He would inquire. "We can't exactly stand here forever, after all. And I doubt they want our presence for long either. But it's been quite some time. Should we attempt to gain an audience soon?"

He left all of said ideas open to the floor, merely as suggestions for now, not offering anything definite until the two of them had a moment to shoot ideas of their own.

Wu hadn't heard JOshua... she had been led out by the Nixor when they came to the door and went to the meeting room while he stood there debating what to do if they didn't show up. The jedi master remained there at the table with them and she was looking over what information she had collected on the chevron as he spoke. "Welcome, are your friends going to be joining us?" SHe looked towards the door way and down the hall further they had wet a ways away so if they were following she wasn't certain. "I cannot speak to their intentions. If they are coming we should wait for them." She got looks from them and wanted to shrug but controlled her body and expressions.

"Sorry." She said it though and waited looking them over. The three who had come to meet them were average from what she could tell. THey didn't stand out in the force, their outfits were lavish but still plain. Sky blue robes with crossed sash attached to different patches. She was looking at the symbols of them and it looked like two were from the same groups.... house... clan however they wanted to organize it. She took in their features and the one who sat in the middle and seemed to be leading their delegation provided little facial expressions that she could see. His lightly tanned skin, balding head and bushy eyebrows.

His voice wasn't smooth but more deep as he sat there and was relaxed... calmed for the moment at least but she could feel the underlying annoyance. THey had made things clear and Wu had chosen to well listen and go with them when they came. So she at least didn't feel it would be fully directed at her. He just seemed to not be wanting any of them here and she was trying to think of ways to play off of him. TO work with what they wanted. THe planet hadn't been chosen by the SIlver Jedi, it hadn't been scouted by the explorer corps it hadn't been reconed by the expansionary fleets except in tracking the pirates here.

They had nothing the Silver Jedi wanted... the diplomats were here to try and talk with them because they had jumped a fleet into the system. It was a matter of respect and she shifted her senses and eyes towards the other two. The female of the group was plain, fiery red orange hair, light skin with the barest hint of freckles she seemed the most welcoming to an idea of meeting them and maybe even excited which could be helpful... THe third was serious, thick around the middle, tall even in the seat and she could see his massive beard groomed well and looking better but his hair was slicked back. He seemed the most neutral and unimpressed y them.
