WEAKNESSES
  • SUPPRESSING FIRE: Though the Merzoidian Rotary Blaster Pistol possesses a relatively large magazine size of 100 shots, its extreme rate of fire can deplete its ammunition reserves in mere seconds.
  • Statement piece: Anyone wielding the Merzoidian Rotary Blaster Pistol is bound to be noticed-whether they want to be or not.
  • Inaccurate: Despite the addition of an Auto-steady gyrogimbal system and "Bantha Eye" Laser Sight, the Merzoidian Rotary Blaster Pistol is still relatively inaccurate.
  • Clunky reload: To reload the weapon, the user must pull back on the reloading lever and remove the weapon's entire rotary barrel cluster to gain access to the power cell. This makes reloading the Merzoidian Rotary Blaster Pistol somewhat clunky and long winded.
  • If you need to ask how much it costs, then you can't afford it: Needless to say, the Merzoidian Rotary Blaster Pistol is perhaps one of the most expensive small arms ever produced by Mahporeem.
  • Up close and personal: The Merzoidian Rotary Blaster Pistol is a short ranged weapon, and is nearly impossible to use at great distances.
DESCRIPTION

From a cultural standpoint, most Merzoidians tend to embrace pacifism, as they had few enemies to fight during their long history of self imposed isolation from the galaxy. That being said, it was not as if blaster and weapons technology were unknown to the Merzod People. Instead, most Merzoidians tended to see blasters as just another medium to express their creativity and artistic ability, which can be seen in the craftsmanship of their blaster pistols.

This is especially true of the Merzoidian Rotary Blaster Pistol, created specifically at the bequest of the N&Z Umbrella Corporation's Ambrosia Division. Having seen a major challenge to be overcome, the Merzoidian Artisans of Mahporeem have created a truly spectacular weapon, one unlike any other blaster pistol in the entire galaxy.

The idea behind the creation of the pistol was to take a Z-6 rotary blaster cannon and scale it down to the size of a single handed weapon that could still be operated and fired effectively despite its reduced stature. In order to do this, the Merzoidian Rotary Blaster Pistol is designed to be especially "pointable", its unique shape and off the shelf technology making it as easy as possible to keep on target when firing for extended periods of time.

At close range, the weapon is absolutely devastating, able to tear through hordes of enemies or heavily armored targets through shear rate and volume of fire. Of course, this is something of a double edged sword, as the weapon will burn through its ammunition reserves frighteningly fast despite its large power pack size and 100 blaster shot capacity. Reloading the weapon is also something of a clunky and awkward task, since the user must remove the weapon's barrel first in order to access the power cell.

Nonetheless, the Merzoidian Rotary Blaster Pistol is a highly coveted showpiece of a weapon, richly engraved and adorned in precious metals and exotic hardwoods. The fact that it is able to function as a dedicated combat weapon is, in all honesty, something of a bonus for anyone wishing to gain possession of the weapon, as the Merzoidian Rotary Blaster Pistol is in reality little more than a glorified technology demonstrator, albeit a technically impressive and correspondingly expensive one.

WEAKNESSES
  • Statement piece: Anyone wielding the Merzoidian Hand-Cannon is bound to be noticed-whether they want to be or not.
  • Your hearing loss is not service related: The Merzoidian Hand-Cannon is ridicously loud, and their is no effective way to silence the weapon.
  • Clunky Reload: Even with the weapon's Speedloader, reloading can be a slow and arduous process, and the weapon itself only holds 6 rounds in total.
  • Slow: The Merzoidian Hand-Cannon is a slow firing weapon, and produces heavy recoil with each pull of the trigger.
  • Dangerous: The weapon's Integrated Vibroblade can injure the user just as easily as it can enemies. Holstering the weapon can also be dangerous if the user forgets to disengage the Vibroblade.
  • If you need to ask how much it costs, then you can't afford it: Needless to say, the Merzoidian Hand-Cannon is an absurdly expensive weapon to produce, and has a correspondingly high cost to purchase.

The Merzoidian Hand-Cannon is a prime example of this particular design philosophy, although these weapons are slugthrowers and not blaster pistols. Created in a set of 5 distinct variants, the Merzoidian Hand-Cannon is part functioning weapon and part technology demonstrator, equipped with features not seen on most comparable armaments.

One of the defining features of the Merzoidian Hand-Cannon is the weapon's Integrated Vibroblade attachment, scaled down to fit onto the small frame of a slugthrower revolver. This, coupled with the Hand-Cannon's Magnetic Pulse Accelerator, makes the weapon usable at both short range and long range, and is naturally a technically impressive accomplishment. Equally as impressive is the weapon's rich engravings and use of precious metals and exotic materials.

Of course, just like many other Merzoidian based designs, the Hand-Cannon is in reality a rather impractical weapon to use and carry, as the Vibroblade can make storing the weapon rather difficult, to say nothing of the possibility of accidental self injury. In addition, the weapon's small magazine size and slow rate of fire means it is not a weapon for amateur use. Only a skilled shooter can get the most out of his or her Hand-Cannon.

  • Slow: Being a precision weapon, the Merzoidian Jezzail is slow firing, and only holds a total of 5 rounds in its magazine.
  • Clunky reload: The Merzoidian Jezzail is clunky and awkward to reload, as each slug/bullet must be manually loaded into the weapon one at a time.
  • Fragile: Compared to other Merzoidian designs, the Merzoidian Jezzail is relatively fragile, and using the weapon in melee is NOT recommended under any but the most dire circumstances.

This is also true of Merzoidian Blaster Rifles and Long Guns, such as the Merzoidian Jezzail. Allegedly based off an ancient design, the Merzoidian Jezzail is most well known for its unusual shape, said to help the shooter increase their accuracy when engaging in long range shooting. Whether or not this is true, the Merzoidian Jezzail contains a host of advanced features that allows the weapon to be both exceptionally accurate and damaging at long range.

Unfortunately, the highly specialized nature of the weapon means that it is nearly useless in close quarters combat, and anyone using a Merzoidian Jezzail should attempt to keep as much distance between them and their target as possible. Using the Merzoidian Jezzail as an improvised melee weapon is similarly discouraged, as the weapon itself is relatively fragile and likely to require adjusting should it be knocked out of alignment. Nonetheless, the Merzoidian Jezzail excels in both form and function, and no other sniper rifle can truly match the beauty and quality of such a fine work of art.

  • Master of none: The Merzoidian Blaster Carbine is not as useful as specialized weapons in certain combat situations, such as at extreme range or close quarters combat.
  • Full Nullification: When under the effects of Force Nullification, the weapon will no longer vibrate in the presence of Force Users, though its combat effectiveness remains unaffected.
  • Humble: Compared to other Merzoidian weapons, the Merzoidian Blaster Carbine is more subtly designed, and may not display the user's wealth and status as readily as other Merzoidian weaponry.

Of course, this remains true of their blaster carbines as well, and the Merzoidian Blaster Carbine is no exception. While undoubtedly still a work of out, the design features of the Merzoidian Blaster Carbine are more subtle than other Merzoidian created examples, and may appeal to a different set of people who wish to still display their wealth and power in a less ostentatious manner.

The real draw of the weapon is not its features or artistry, but rather its unique ability. Because the weapon is constructed primarily of Homogoni wood, it actually vibrates gently in the presence of Force Users, though not to the degree that the user's aim is thrown off. This allows anyone using the weapon to quickly determine if their foes or allies can use the Force, though this ability becomes unavailable under Force Nullification.

Regardless, the Merzoidian Blaster Carbine is a must have, and has a variety of practical combat applications regardless of situation, though more specialized weaponry will offer superior performance to the Merzoidian Blaster Carbine in more niche combat situations.

  • Don't scratch the paint: Antique Trooper Armor is so beautiful that its wearer may be hesitant to wear it into battle due to the likelihood of it sustaining damage.
  • Expensive: Like most Merzoidian designed pieces, the old adage of "if you need to ask how much it costs, then you can't afford it" most definitely applies to Antique Trooper Armor, as it is very expensive to manufacture and repair.
  • Human sized: Antique Trooper Armor is only designed to be worn by humans and similarly sized humanoid species, and will not fit irregularly shaped or particularly large or small organic beings.
  • Distinctive: Because it is based on Stormtrooper Armor, anyone wearing Antique Trooper Armor is likely to be perceived in a certain manner by other beings, regardless of personal belief.
  • Covian pearl: When under the effects of Force Nullification, the Covian Pearl used in the construction of Antique Trooper Armor will no longer be able to detect the presence of Dark Side users, though the other functions of the armor will remain unaffected.
  • Shatterpoint: When not under the effect of Force Nullification, the Covian Pearls used in the construction of the armor may crack or shatter in the presence of particularly powerful Dark Side users, requiring repair or replacement.
DESCRIPTION

Nearly a thousand years after the fall of the original Galactic Empire, Stormtrooper Armor remains as ubiquitous now as it was back then, being used in a variety of different forms by both the resurgent Galactic Empire and the nascent Imperial Confederation. To celebrate the longevity of such a specific set of armor, the Merzoidian Artisans of the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant have teamed up with the N&Z Umbrella Corporation to create a truly unique and spectacular set of Stormtrooper Armor: Antique Trooper Armor.

Compared to standard Stormtrooper Armor, Antique Trooper Armor can be distinguished by the exotic materials and precious metals used in its construction. The armor is notable for its particularly vivid coloration, with brilliant hues of blues, purples, whites and gold being present in the appearance of the armor. These colors have been expertly swirled together to create a distinct pattern seldom seen in other comparable armor sets.

Antique Trooper Armor is also notable for the inclusion of Covian Pearl in its construction. While Covian Pearl is an aesthetically pleasing and valuable material in its own right, its inclusion in the armor serves another purpose. When in close proximity to Dark Side users, Covian Pearl will begin to crack and shatter, indicating their presence to the wearer of the armor. While this may be seen as a negative, it does prevent Dark Side users from hiding their powers, though the pearls will require repair and in some cases complete replacement.

Nonetheless, Antique Trooper Armor remains a highly coveted and sought after piece of functional art, one that provides it users with excellent protection from a wide variety of different threats.
