Lily chuckled and shook her head, "I normally do shopping like this as a reward, after successfully doing something. I just like to get lost in my thoughts at time. If I'm stressed out, usually combat training harder than normal, helps express myself more."

"I can understand that, we can find a store that is more traditional in Cathar styles or a fabric store." Lily nodded her head. The mention of Mandalorians slaughtering Jonyna's clan, Lily could sadly understand that all too well. "I am the last Decoria. There was a Mandalorian attack at the Echani palace, my uncles and father were all killed by Mandalorians. My aunt came and whisked my grandmother and mother away to a safer place to live. My mother was pregnant with me at the time."

She stopped searching through the dresses, "so its very possible I will be the last person to carry my family's name."

"...I don't even know if I'm the last of my name..." Jonyna took a moment to ponder that. The last of the Sis. The last of her family...

She couldn't be. She had eight siblings before going into the ice. There had to be someone out there...

Shake it off Stardust. You need to be strong. No tears today, even if you want to. She could only let out a sniff at that.
"I'm sure there are more though. Cathar are resilient little kits. And hey, if either of us ever has kids..."
She made a hand motion, giving Lily a look.

Lily nodded her head, "that must be tough." Not knowing whether there was more family out there, that can be a scary thought.

The optimism was a nice thought and it was good to see someone be optimistic about the future. Lily tried to from time to time, though she was not always the best at it. "If I have kids it's possible. Thankfully Eshan is a matriarchy so men tend to adopt their wife's name. Instead of the women adopting the men from what I have noticed of other cultures. But that only works if I marry an Echani man, I doubt others would be so willing." Lily shrugged, she was not sure how others would feel about the way her society worked.

"But marriage and children are far, far in the future for me. I got a lot to do till then!" Lily giggled softly.

Jonyna took pause at that. Someone long ago she had considered having kits with, now far out of reach. "I'm sure you'll find someone. I certainly haven't stopped looking." She gave Lily Decoria Lily Decoria a wink, and a playful hip bump. "So how'd you get into this whole jedi shindig? I mean, you're upper class. Didn't think folks of that level of status had much to worry about."

Lily chuckled and shook her head, "I have priorities right now that are set above settling down and starting a family. I am content with how things are now." She admitted, though she also enjoyed the idea of love and attraction being more spontaneous, something that happened in the moment. However, she was also in a turbulent time of her life currently.

"Oh. I..." Lily paused as she thought how much she wished to share about her reasonings for joining, "my aunt is a Jedi, she knew I was connected to the Force from a young age and eventually, it became practical for me to know how to use these skills." It was vague and not the complete truth but Lily was also not lying or attempting to deceive, she was clearly just not ready to share the full events of why she became a Jedi.

Looking to Jonyna, "how about yourself?" Lily asked curious.

Jonyna's smile fell at that. That was a long story. "...my mom was a Sentinel. Where I come from, if you show any sign of being in tune with the Force, it's expected you become a jedi. The jedi, to my people, are...saviors. Heroes of myth. When the Mandos took over our planet and nearly wiped out our race...the jedi were the ones who pushed them back, reclaimed our home. My people, the Denik, were the only ones to have stayed on Cathar. Seeing something as simple as a lightsaber is a sign of hope in my culture..."

The cathar took a moment to pull her main saber from her back, looking longingly at it. "Mom always told me that one day I'd become that symbol of hope. I've fought ever since to live up to that."

She had kept out the parts that featured her taking a 900 year nap, but it wasn't important anymore. Her mother still watched over here. Her family's crest still marked her shoulders. She was still the Daughter of a Sentinel.

"The Jedi were the ones that saved Eshan from Mandalorian rule when their empire had attempted to dethrone our royalty and killed a large number of us." Lily stated, "I can understand seeing the Jedi as heroic symbols of peace due to that." Lily smiled and looked over to Jonyna.

She placed a hand on the Cathar's shoulder and gave it a squeeze, "I am sure she would say that you have already achieved that just by being here and doing the best that you can. Doing our best and saving those in danger, that is all anyone can do as a Jedi." Lily mentioned, she then let go and turned back to the clothes.

"How about we get out of here and find a place selling fabrics for you!" Lily suggested.

"I'd like that." She chuckled, taking the human's hand. It was normal for her, even a sign of solidarity. It was nice to see someone who understood the evils of the Mandalorians. Some would praise them as great warriors, but not a Cathar. No one of her people would see them as anything other than honorless dogs who slaughtered whole planets in the name of blind conquest...

It was kinda surreal, this whole situation. Shopping? She would've never had the channel to buy clothes back during her day. She was sure Kraden would've probably enjoyed that...

Leaving the store, Lily headed towards where she knew some places that were selling fabrics would be located. There wasn't much point in lingering around the past and holding any hatred to a particular group of people. People that Lily had no personal issues with either, she had never met a Mandalorian so she had no reason to hold them to accounts that happened literally to events that occurred before her birth.

Looking around, it didn't take long to find the store that Lily had in mind to help out Jonyna in finding what she needed. "Here, think this fabric store specialises in Cathar and similar species fabrics, materials and styles. Hopefully we shall find what you need here!"

Jonyna followed, mulling over it in her own head as they walked. It had been 900 years. Perhaps it was time for her to let old grudges lie. The Mandos hadn't done anything in this time that she was aware of that was...egregious.

Mind you, her train of thought violently derailed as they entered the new store. The sight of Cathar Snare-Silk on the wall of a random shop in this massive metropolis took her completely off guard. Sitting next to it was a bottle of City-Tree Flower Paint, and Lilantium Dye.

She had to buy some. The bright white hue of the dye glimmered against the shine of the sun, while the silk that hung from the wall was a-

Then it hit her.

Jonyna looked back to Lily Decoria Lily Decoria with a guilty smile.
"I um....don't have any money..."

The light in Jonyna's eyes lighting up as she saw the different Cathar materials, it was just as Lily wished. This store was the perfect place to focus on getting the right outfit and look for Jonyna. When there was mention of not having any money, Lily was surprised that Jonyna had not thought to bring any when she asked Lily to join her in shopping then shrugged.

"I can pay for this, then you just owe me a meal or something later!" Lily offered in a light hearted way.

A meal. She could do that!

The Cathar nodded, grabbing quite a bit of fabric, and some dye to go with it, before finally grabbing...

It looked to be some sort of collar, made of what seemed to be a sort of jade. There were quite a few of them stacked on the shelves, but Jonyna seemed to eye one in particular.

"...these are ceremonial. You're only supposed to wear these when you're married..." She blinked, pouting slightly. "The fact they're just...selling them to any passerby..."

Lily tilted her head at the fabrics that Jonyna stated were ceremonial and shouldn't be freely available.

"Well, perhaps they are displayed for all to see but limited to those who are looking to make their own ceremonial attires." Lily wasn't sure where she was right or not since she never stepped foot in here before but she wasn't sure that it would be just be sold to anyone if there was truly a level of importance to such fabrics.

There was still a heartbreak in Jonyna, her words had not helped the Cathar and that was a great shame. She had hoped to ease her new friend's mind and make her feel more comfortable with life.

Lily saw how much the fabric was and genuinely surprised at how cheap it was for buying the materials. "Perhaps I should get into clothes making, could get a lot more outfits that way!" Lily giggled, then paid for the fabrics, the cost was not an issue to her and she did not need to hear the amount.

"What should we do next then? Head back?" Lily asked, as the server folded the fabrics into a bag delicately for Jonyna.

"I guess..." Jonyna looked a little down still at the prospect. This was her culture, cheapened to a storefront....

She seemed to perk up suddenly as they left. At the very least, she had the ability to honor that now. Show the world through her example how Cathar tradition was. She was a hero to the Republic now, not just every odd planet she stopped on in her elder quest to find a teacher
. "So..." She rolled off her tongue, walking with her hands behind her in a sort of childish gate. "You mentioned you're not looking for marriage yet, but you didn't mention anyone in particular. Do you...have a boyfriend?" She paused, the intrusive thought passing her mind. "...or a girlfriend?"

As they left, Jonyna asked if Lily was dating anyone in particular and Lily shook her head, "still getting to know people here and adjusting to the life of being a Jedi Padawan. Not really thought about dating or anything like that." She admitted with no real shame, there was plenty of time still so she wasn't concerned about it.

"How about yourself? Have you got a partner or someone whose caught your eye?" Lily asked curiously

"No, still..." She considered how to word this. "...dealing with a harsh break up." She rolled her eyes, her tail flicking as she clenched her fists at the thought. "Not even really a break up, just...a separation. Ya know?" She couldn't really explain how it felt for her two mates to have died several hundred years ago, if they had at all...

Placing a hand on Jonyna's shoulder, giving it a comforting squeeze. "I'm sorry to hear, that sounds tough. I've not a hard break up or separation but I understand from seeing how my aunt and mother have dealt with break ups and unwanted separations that it can be very tough."

"Here if you want to talk to someone about it." Lily offered a friendly smile to her fellow Jedi.
