MedCorps is an organization that specializes in rapid response medical services, by offering unique medical insurances including armed ambulance services and tracking/monitoring bracelets. Clients may also opt to carry a deadman transmitter, which will activate and automatically signal a MedCorps Team the moment their brainwave patterns fall into a coma state. Each Trauma Team consists of Paramedics trained in combat supported by Non-Combat EMTs and Security Specialists to protect the teams when deployed.

Those wealthy enough to afford a MedCorps contract receive a card and biochip implant. However; MedCorps does not discriminate and does often aid those that are incapable of affording a contract - however they often face expensive medical fees after the fact.

CONTRACTS

MedCorps offers four levels of service contracts, each with extending benefits for the amount of credits purchased. A tissue sample is required upon signing of a contract, and each client receives a card and biochip implant, as well as a wrist comlink that dials directly to the nearest MedCorps Facility in the area.

  • Bronzium Service - This plan cost 5,00cr per standard month or an annual fee of 8,000cr, and gives the client pay-per-service access to MedCorps services. Additional service fees can range in price with acute care coverage cost - during a client’s stay at a MedCorps facility - ranging between 500cr to 1,000cr per day.

In the event that a MedCorps team is deployed, the client/patient also has to pay 100cr per minute until arriving at the nearest MedCorps Facility or Vessel. They also have to pay for any ammunition fired, all fuel that was used, and has to pay for any equipment or personnel damage. Non MedCorps Clients receive this level of care.

  • Mythra Service - This plan cost 1500cr per standard month or an annual fee of 25,000cr, and gives the client one free resuscitation per contract. Additional services fees for MedCorps facility stays are discounted at 10 percent.

In the event that a MedCorps team is deployed, the client/patient is promised a response time of 7 standard minutes, as well as covers all ammo and fuel costs; but the client still has to pay any equipment or personnel damage.

  • Aurodium Service - This plan cost 3,000cr per standard month or an annual fee of 50,000cr, and gives the client four free resuscitations per contract. Additional services fees for MedCorps facility stays are discounted at 50 percent.

In the event that a MedCorps team is deployed, the client is promised a response time of 3-to-5 standard minutes, as well as covers all ammo, fuel costs and equipment damage; but the client/patient still has to pay any personnel or innocent victims damage (the pay for ‘innocent victims’ is waved if the client/patient is being recovered from an active battlefield).

  • Electrum Service - This plan costs an annual fee of 100,000cr and has no standard monthly fee. The benefits are similar to the Aurodium Service, except the client does not have to cover death benefits, and gives five free resuscitations per contract. This contract also gives the client a life-signs biomonitor.

MEDCORPS RESPONSE TEAMS
Each Basic MedCorps response team consists of six individuals.
  • Pilot/Driver
  • Co-Pilot/Driver and Gunner
  • (2) Security Specialist
  • Lead EMT (Emergency Medical Technician)
  • An assistant EMT

Each MedCorps Team has access to their own Gunship/Ground Vehicle. The Pilot controls the vehicle while the Co-Pilot serves as the Gunner of the Vehicle. The pilot and co-pilot do not leave the vehicle during a client extraction and their cockpit remains separated from the rest of the vehicle.

During travel, two security specialist sit in the same reinforced compartment as the EMTs. The security specialist sit directly behind the cockpit and man additional mounted defensive weapons - provided they are available - to the side of the vehicle. The EMTs sit towards the back of the vehicle, with the lead EMT sitting near the patient stretcher and the assistant EMT sitting near the medical supplies.

Upon arrival the two EMTs and Security Specialist disembark from the vehicle and make their way towards the client to rescue them. If necessary, the two Security Specialist will clear a path to the client for the EMTs. Each EMT is equipped with a side arm for their own personal protection.

MEDCORPS RESPONSES
Depending on the situation often requires a different level of response by MedCorps.

  • Standard Response - SRTs are the standard response of MedCorps, consisting of a standard Gunship/Ground Vehicle. They are deployed on a specific planet - or depending on the region a specific stellar system. Standard teams stabilize victims on sight, and if the going gets tough, they typically call for backup.

  • Crisis Response - CRTs typically cover large-scale medical emergencies, such as Chemical Explosions, Multiple-Vehicle pileups, Gang Wars and Natural Disasters - they are also often deployed to Battlefields are needed to ensure the safety of clients or provide additional aid to the Confederacy Defense Force. Unlike the basic MedCorps team, the CRTs consists of eight personnel and a larger vehicle.
    Pilot/Driver
  • Co-Pilot and Gunner
  • (4) Security Specialist
  • Lead EMT (Emergency Medical Technician)
  • Assistant EMTs

  • High Threat Response - HTRs are the main public face of MedCorps, and consists of up to twelve personnel deployed in two separate vehicles or a singular larger vehicle (these vehicles are often heavily armed and armored compared to other MedCorps vehicles). They are fewer in number than SRTs and are often deployed to a larger sector consisting of multiple stellar systems.
    Pilot/Driver
  • Co-Pilot
  • (2) Gunners
  • (5) Security Specialist
  • Lead EMT (Emergency Medical Technician)
  • (2) Assistant EMTs

  • Support Operations Specialist - Occasionally an HTR team will encounter a situation of heavy resistance or extenuating circumstances when tasked with a rescuing a high-profile client. This often necessitates a more aggressive or response or greater tactical flexibility. In these situations, a Support Operations Specialist, or SOS, team is dispatched to assist the HTR team. Each SOS team are mission-specific and high variable. They can range in size from a single individual to small teams of four or five, sometimes more. These teams may include Force Users, Snipers, Engineers, Heavy Weapons Specialist or other specialist.
