"And You don't have to worry about me... Making poor choices.... I don't think I understand girls enough to even think about getting that far and I prefer the company of boys in general. "

"You won't find me complaining about that," Jasper remarked with a chuckle.

Don't torture yourself... Iris Arani Iris Arani had surely told him something similar in the past. What was it that she had told him...

"You are stupid."

No... that wasn't it. Well, she had certainly called him stupid on plenty of occasions, but that wasn't the advice she had given...

Wandering like.. This, getting yourself beat up for whatever reason, that's not going to help you, ever.

Getting yourself beat up for whatever reason. That was it. Jasper hadn't exactly been the best at following that advice, admittedly, even after she found him bloody and broken in that alleyway all those years ago now. He was the first into battle and the last to run, always ready and willing to put the needs of others over himself. He had grown, and he had allowed others to help him, but there was still a part of his journey that was not yet complete.

And so the decision had already been made.

"You're right," he agreed. "I... need to focus on myself. For the people around me as well as myself. I have already thought about that and come to accept it. It's just gonna take a little getting used to, y'know?"

He nudged Braze with his shoulder.

"I won't torture myself," the Master insisted with a smile. "Promise."

"Alright, point taken," Jasper laughed.

He believed Braze too. It didn't matter how old he was now, that was something that Jasper was certain his student would do in a heartbeat if he wanted to. A faint sigh escaped the Jedi Master's chest as he sank into the sofa.

"I'm so tired..." he admitted. "I don't really know how I did it... how I fought that thing for months without end. Everything is sort of a blur."

And just like that it was all over. He was home and his people were around him. It was almost like waking from a dream.

"I just remember wanting to sleep so bad..." Jasper told Braze, being rather open suddenly, "but the voices in my head kept telling me if I did sleep I'd die. Maybe I did die. I'm not sure if I'll ever know."

Kai'el Brat "Guardian of the Light"
Jasper Kai'el Jasper Kai'el Braze fetched a fluffy blanket and opened it up with a furl and draped it over Jasper's shoulders. He them just settled down next to him and curled up leaning against him. He yawned lightly and settled right there. "We should all get some sleep then. "
