CONTENTS
  • Shifting: Its primary ability is to shape itself into the form its wearer desires. By putting it, followed by a mental command it envelops the face of the wearer, then shapeshifts into a specific face. Once the transformation is complete the mask feels and behaves like the original skin of the wearer, much like the Mask skill, but with the ability to take it off rather easily.
  • Spirit: The mask has been imbued with the spirit of a captured Starweird. The wearer experiences an increase in their speed, allowing for short but intense bursts of speed comparable to a buffed-up Force Speed. It also grants the Starweird's ability to phase into an ethereal state.
Strengths:
  • Masterwork: Forged by a master of Sith Alchemy the Mask of Tash is a powerful artifact of the Force granting the wearer shifting abilities- from the physical to the spiritual, while also being virtually indestructible by normal means. Furthermore it clouded his strength within the Force much like a force dispenser would or a taozin nodule.
Weaknesses:
  • Lightning: The mask conducts lightning very well and that's a bad thing. A direct hit from a lightning burst against it has the potential to amplify the damage of the lightning on the wearer. From frying their brain to horrific disfigurement, this is a risky thing to wear on the face.
  • Force-Null: Within an ysalamir field the mask becomes simply a fascinatingly decorated mask of gleaming silver. If a different face was worn the mask simply reverts to its base state. In the presence of void stone or similar materials the mask is 'frozen' in the state it appears. It becomes impossible to switch, until the material has been removed. The shifting of spirit is completely inert during the presence of either. Furthermore the metal retains its 'forged' abilities, meaning that a lightning burst will still conduct heavily.
  • Lightside: Powerful applications of the Light have the potential to either turn the mask inert or outright destroy it with enough focus and time.
  • Draining: Using the phase ability granted by the mask is still a drain on the wearer. It is wholly possible that they misjudge the distance they have to travel through and run out of energy halfway through... instant death.
  • Beyond: The spirit of the Starweird is still alive, it merely slumbers. Its thoughts are strong though and during particularly bad dreams it might push its anger and fear onto the wearer.

DESCRIPTION
Lord Itash of House Mecetti is an avid collector of curiosa, artifacts and the arcane.

Among his collection is the Scepter of Ragnos, a staff that can imbue the Force upon those the wielder chooses, dangerous to be sure in the wrong hands. One night [member="Cassandra Paige"] decided to explore his vaults, where she found it. By the time that Itash came home she was gone together with several artifacts in tow. He tracked her down and a dispute arose, ending in Cass using the scepter against Itash himself and leaving him much older than he had been.

This mask is the direct consequence of it.

As the Staff had been forged by Cerbera so now did he request another artifact to be made. Because of his exploitation of the trap she had set for him... the alchemist allowed him a boon.

Power had been earned in the exchange between Cass and Tash.

Cerbera rewarded it in kind.

The Mark of Lies was forged within the fires of the Obsidian Forge and was sealed with the spirit of a Starweird. It would allow Tash to maintain his identity in the Galaxy, assume others while remaining hidden in plain sight. It also granted him a distinct edge in speed and maneuverability by tapping into the aspect of the Starweird itself.

Boon granted.
