Mariya Pyne is the younger half-sister of
Jamie Pyne
. Born to different mothers, the two discovered their relation when Mariya was eleven years old, a few short years before Jamie would become Queen. During that time they grew close with one another, forming a lasting bond and friendship that would see them through rather dark and trying times. As Mariya grew, she developed her natural talent for piloting, becoming one of the best Naboo had to offer. She also became a skilled marksman after enlisting in the Defense Force. Though she shared many similarities with her elder sister, Mariya was much less of a peace at any cost type of person. When words failed, the blaster was already at the ready.She was an accomplished smuggler, and had worked a number of relief missions for the old Galactic Alliance as well as Naboo, when and where official government involvement could not be made. Despite her sister's lack of approval of such methods, Mariya was an effective agent and runner. Her piloting and blaster skills, coupled with her quick wits and ability to improvise maintained her as a valuable asset.
Within the Naboo Defense Force Mariya quickly rose through the ranks to become the commander of her own squadron of eight. For several years she trained other pilots and assisted with the defense and strategic planning for Naboo, as well as the protection of the capital, reporting directly to the council of advisors, and the crown. It wasn't until after Jamie's term as queen ended that Mariya too stepped down from her position, choosing to exercise her talents elsewhere in the galaxy.
Smugglers and pilots were always in demand.
