Approved Planet Manikata

Status
Not open for further replies.
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a capital for a new minor faction on the edge of the galaxy, the Imperial Manikata Dynasty.
    vadim-sadovski-by-vadim-sadovski-mars.jpg
  • -Vadim Sadovski
  • Canon: No
  • Permissions: (N/A)
  • Links: (N/A; Completely New)
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Planet Name: Manikata
  • Demonym: Manikatans
  • Region: Unknown Regions
  • System Name: Manikotok
  • System Features: Manikata has four moons, all simply titled Mani I, Mani II, Mani III, and Mani IV. There are two other planets named Fuil and Sangre. Fuil is an Ocean World with one moon, Fasuter, and Sangre is a mostly forest world with large swathes of empty plains, now filled up with farming fields and the like. It has no moons. The system is surrounded by a field of asteroids where many outposts and defenses reside. For a long time, this asteroid field made out-of-system travel nigh-impossible before gaining the Hyperdrive from an unlucky corvette near nine thousand years ago.
  • Fuil has Brightdawn, a glimmering warmer time of the year, and Coldnight, in which the sun rarely rises and whole chunks of sea freeze over. Sangre has its own Brightdawn, and only goes into Coldnight for near two months per year.
  • Location:
  • Major Imports: Basic Consumer Goods
  • Major Exports: Water, Food, Cortosis, Iron, Gold, Silver, Durasteel, Tin
  • Unexploited Resources: N/A, older civilization
GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION
(Goes for all planets in the system)

  • Gravity: Standard
  • Climate: Manikata is in perpetual snow, fallout of a dozen major wars over the course of thousands of years. The Eternal Coldnight.
  • Primary Terrain: Manikata is has two terrains, the jagged seas of black and red rock that is still littered with primitive war machines, crashed orbitships, and abandoned ancient bases of nations once powerful, now nearly forgotten. The other is what remains of Manikata's old beauty, pockets of green grass, clean air and massive spires of red and gold civilization. Despite this divide, most of the soldiers come from Manikata's wastelands, toughened by the outlaw nature of its post-apocalyptical land. The elite usually reside within the Red Spires which exist as their cities.
  • Atmosphere: Type I for all planets, Type II and III for all moons, Type IV for all asteroids if that.
LOCATION INFORMATION
  • Capital City: Okkikonik, the largest of the Red Spires and some time ago, the unifying state from which the Dynasty rose to power and brought all Spires and most warbands under control.
  • Planetary Features: The planet's main features are the Red Spires. With such a lack of untainted space, the nobles of Manikata decided simply to build up, not widely. Such Spires have extensive shield generators and grav-supports, and their highest points are often toxic and unbreathable without rebreathers. Okkikonik's largest spire persists past the clouds and has expanded into a shipyard and space elevator. There are also massive mountains of red and black rock, the ruins of ten thousand cities dotting the planet's wasteland. There are also terrible storms on Manikata, named the Old Kockinao's Wrath, where each Spire's shield generator is put to the test. The storms were named after a Manikatan Admiral who burned an entire continent in destructive plasma during the Age of Flood ten thousand years ago with Orbitships.
  • Major Locations: Okkikonik, the Capital Spire, has been explained earlier. There is also Damnos, one of the few Spires in the wastes that serves as the training ground for most of the Dynasty's armed forces. It is named after the vibrosword of Admiral Kockinao, which itself sits in a case at the top of the Damnos Primary Spire. Vorkinvo is another Red Spire, which serves as a notable port for traders from the Manis or Fuil and Sangre, mostly due to Okkikonik's docks being at a high premium.
  • Force Nexus: Morsoforc Capitol
Intent: The Morsoforc Empire, an ancient one only relevant due to its use of Force Users as leaders, were a violent people who forcefully conquered many old settlements, including what would eventually become Okkikonik. Its capitol served as their temple to the Force, where they honed their rage and skill for future conquests. After the violent infighting then the bloody Old Rebellion, the Morsoforc Empire collapsed. Though the Capitol building still remains, most of the outlying cities and buildings were destroyed by bombing runs and even some of the first Orbitships, making the capitol on the few surviving structures from a catastrophic end to a violent regime, causing the Capitol to grow strong with the Dark Side.
    Nexus Name: Morsoforc Capitol/Temple
  • Nexus Alignment: Dark Side; As it is the capitol of an ancient brutal empire led by Force Users, who's regime ended in a near-genocidal way.
  • Size: Medium (Large Building Ruins)
  • Strength: Moderate (As the death of tens of millions, including Dark Siders, one of which was their Emperor, was an extremely tragic and bloody event, such an event was an incredibly long time ago and as such receives less and less attention. It does, however, act as the place where the Noble House of Mordarkai visits and trains every so often.
  • Accessibility: It is guarded only by the very hostile nature of the wastes, only quarantined by knowledge of its existence. Its ancient status has gifted it the lack of attention, and many who do stumble upon it simply see the building as yet another ruin in a sea of them. Technically, if you bring enough water and food and knew its location, you could simply walk there, from Okkikonik to the Morsoforc Temple. Long walk though, but a walk nonetheless.
  • Effects: If one becomes lost in its halls, they may find themselves in a vision. This vision is a recreation of the disaster that befell the Morsoforc Capitol all those millennia ago, and if one is not strong enough in the Force to repel the relatively weak grasp of the vision, they may die in the vision as the plasma fire and explosives rain down. For those outside the vision, they may be incinerated by an unknown force. If one repels the vision and finds themselves aligned with the Dark Side, attempts to train within its walls may become twice as effective.

POPULATION
  • Native Species: Human
  • Immigrated Species: Twi'lek
  • Population: Heavy
  • Demographics: While there are more humans than aliens, it is not an overbalanced gap in population count. The government and people care little about where you are from, and more where your loyalties lie.
  • Primary Languages: Basic, Manikitik, mostly used for names nowadays.
  • Culture: Militant, unified, persevering. The people of Manikata are born in war, trained to respect the Dynasty, and told to face its foes and challenges with fever and zeal. There are few native sports, and honor is respected highly, as are one's skills with a vibrosword or blaster. Even within the Spires, many disputes are settled by a sword duel, and outside the Spires, such duels often end with a head rolling. The people of the worlds have been forced into a far more docile position, as they've been conquered by the Dynasty. They abide by their rules or they die.
GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government: Dynastic House Oligarchy
  • Affiliation: Empress Mokoyei of the Imperial Manika Dynasty, Imperial Manika Dynasty
  • Wealth: High. It serves a capital world for a small empire, it has plenty of wealthy members and many more poor, with quite a few in-between as well.
  • Stability: High. Though the Wastes have been purposely left unfixed, all citizens of the Imperial Manika Dynasty are united in service of the Dynasty and their Empress or Emperor. If called upon, any and all citizens are willing to serve in any task.
  • Freedom & Oppression: At first, it was called oppression, but now its morphed into a strange in-between. Citizens are largely allowed to do as they please, but if it threatens the Dynasty or its honor and integrity, there are several draconian laws left in place to deter people from abusing their freedoms, convincing the populace to fall in line.
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
  • Military: Manika is a very durable world. Its Spires are protected largely from orbital bombardment, its ground forces are heavy and many, every citizen and wasteland scavenger is armed and willing to fight for the Dynasty. It has a fleet, half-made and half-purchased, with a few stolen ships sprinkled in. They have a few ancient Imperial warships kept modern by plenty of refits, along with newer outside galaxy warships. They have a great internally developed navy as well.
  • Technology: Galactic Standard
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The planet was settled many, many thousands of years ago by wayward colonists who found themselves lost due to early Hyperdrive fickleness. Such early hyperdrives were experimental, new technology, and thus was more prone to failure and malfunction than a more tested and refined form of travel. Obviously this ancient time period is obscured in myth, legend, and lost knowledge. Manikata has four moons, all simply titled Mani I, Mani II, Mani III, and Mani IV. There are two other planets named Fuil and Sangre. Fuil is an Ocean World with one moon, Fasuter, and Sangre is a mostly forest world with large swathes of empty plains, now filled up with farming fields and the like. It has no moons. Okkikonik, the largest of the Red Spires and some time ago, the unifying state from which the Dynasty rose to power and brought all Spires and most warbands under control, is the capital city of the Imperial Manika Dynasty. Other cities include Damnos, one of the few Spires in the wastes that serves as the training ground for most of the Dynasty's armed forces. There exists a Force Nexus upon this world, one strong with the Dark Side. The Morsoforc Empire, an ancient one only relevant due to its use of Force Users as leaders, were a violent people who forcefully conquered many old settlements, including what would eventually become Okkikonik. Its capitol served as their temple to the Force, where they honed their rage and skill for future conquests. Through draconic law, Imperial pride, and the leadership of the Dynasty, Manikata and its neighbor worlds have thrived. And now, they mobilize a suspicious amount of their army...

This is a lovely job for your first Planet, but, there are just a few items to take a look at.

1.) Region: Per the template, please link the unknown regions.
Region: Unknown Regions
Region: [ Link the region this system resides or describe its location relative to local star systems on the map. You can pick from the following: Deep Core, Core World, Colonies, Inner Rim, Expansion Region, Mid Rim, Outer Rim Territories, Tingel Arm, Wild Space. Unknown Regions. ]

2.) Major Imports: Please detail what kinds of weapons and armor.
Major Imports: Basic Consumer Goods, Ships, Armor, Weaponry

3.) Major Export: Crimosteel is a little confusing. If the material has not been subbed yet to the factory it actually can't be in the submission. You'll also have to list the "Basic Metals" that can be found.
Major Exports: Crimosteel (Basically Red Durasteel, it'll have its own thing soon), Water, Food, Cortosis, Basic Metals

4.) Geographic Information: You should only have information on Manikata in this section. The rest of it about the moons, etc, should be moved up to the "System Features" section.

5.) Force Nexus Effects: You'll need to adjust the wording so this isn't presented as an auto-hit. Example:
Effects: If one becomes lost in its halls, they will find themselves in a vision. This vision is a recreation of the disaster that befell the Morsoforc Capitol all those millennia ago, and if one is not strong enough in the Force to repel the relatively weak grasp of the vision, they will die in the vision as the plasma fire and explosives rain down. For those outside the vision, they will be incinerated by an unknown force. 6.) Wealth and Stability: You'll want to choose one of the options presented from the template for the "overall" feel of the planet, but, you can add the differences in details afterward.
  • Wealth: All of the Above. It serves a capital world for a small empire, it has plenty of wealthy members and many more poor, with quite a few in-between as well.
  • Stability: High and low. Though the Wastes have been purposely left unfixed, all citizens of the Imperial Manika Dynasty are united in service of the Dynasty and their Empress or Emperor. If called upon, any and all citizens are willing to serve in any task.
  • Wealth: [ Poor, Low, Medium, High, Wealthy. Describe, briefly, why. ]
  • Stability: [ Low, Medium, High. Are there major issues causing unrest? Is this a planet of chaos or one of peaceful law-abiding citizens? Is it dangerous for travellers to visit or are you safe as an outsider? Describe the general feel and theme of any overarching government or rulers/leaders in this city. ]

7.) Military: There are a few things with this that we'll need to take a look at.
Military: Manika is a very durable world. Its Spires are protected largely from orbital bombardment, its ground forces are heavy and many, every citizen and wasteland scavenger is armed and willing to fight for the Dynasty. It has a fleet, half-made and half-purchased, with a few stolen ships sprinkled in. • Spires are protected largely from orbital bombardment: Please link the shield generators that you mentioned in the history in this section. Are they canon like this? Or - Are you using a planetary shield?
  • Fleets: We have to default to the Factory when it comes to Fleet Sizes. An "individual" can't field a fleet, but, you can make a Minor Faction, a company, or join a Major Faction so that you can have navy assets. Intent states you were making this for a minor faction...Has it already been made? It would need to be added to affiliation and linked correctly.
Please see the template below.

8.) History: This is actually pretty great. I would only ask - What is hyperdrive fickleness? You might want to define that.

I know it seems like a lot, but really, you've done quite well. There are just some things that need to be clarified and updated. Tag me when you're ready for me to have another look.

Alright, I believe I have adjusted the sheet to fit your requested changes.

I just wanted to clarify; which should come first, the planet or the tech? I figure if I made the Dynasty's armor and weapons first, as well as their Crimosteel, I would need a planet. But for the planet's produce to be accurate, it would need the factory/codex subs which would thus need the planet, ex. ex.

So should I leave out the mention of Crimosteel and the like until planet approval then make it afterwards? Or should I have multiple submissions running at once?

Hi there. There are a few ways you can go about this, but, it's mostly preference.

When it comes to weapons and armor we don't need the "exact" submission - Just the type of technology. What would it be equivalent to in Canon? We really should specify what kind of ships, too. It doesn't have to be exact. Just an idea. If you'd like to wait until you've at least subbed them to the Pre-Factory / Factory I can place this Planet back in the Pre-Codex until you're ready.

When it comes to the Crimosteel it would need to be removed from the planet until it's subbed in the Factory.

Conversely - You can remove the armor, tech, and material until they're subbed and we can get the planet approved without them for the time being. Then do a Submission Modification here to add in the links once they're completed.

On the initial adjustments:

3.) Major Export: Crimosteel is a little confusing. If the material has not been subbed yet to the factory it actually can't be in the submission. You'll also have to list the "Basic Metals" that can be found.

I think you missed the second part here. We have to have the "Basic Metals" present, listed.

Other than the Major Imports & Exports you've adjusted it all quite nicely. Let me know how you'd like to proceed with the above when you have a moment.

I'll go with the Submission Modification then. Edited the Exports/Imports section.
