Strengths And Weaknesses
- Strengths:
Ace Pilot/Improbable Piloting Skills; Above all else, Zech's talents shine through in the cockpit. While his elevated position of Captain has left him with less of a hands on approach in recent years, whenever he is back in the saddle of smaller ships his natural affinity toward piloting shines through, guided by Force and feeling, as opposed to sight alone
- Machine Empathy; Zech is able to sense when something is up with his ship and equipment. While this, for the most part, only comes into play with things he had been utilizing for a long time, and as such has gotten a feel for, it has aided him a lot when running diagnostics, and has saved ship and crew from disaster before it could arise on numerous occasions
- Techno Wizard; Zech has always had a more hands on approach to his work, and during his time among the Adherents of Anil Kesh he worked to find ways that would have the Force compliment his more mechanical surroundings. His abilities in the Force are strongest when influencing technology
- Blind Weaponmaster; While he is by no means the greatest combatant to have ever lived, Zech will often catch his opponents off guard by his obvious blindness yet apparent ability to keep up in the heat of battle, often giving him a momentary upper-hand that is quickly negated
[*]
Weaknesses:
- Blind; Zech was born completely blind. His sapphire eyes have a misty appearance to them, and the physical realm is not something he's ever experienced. While the Force proves enough to guide him, areas containing Force dead or cloaked individuals will leave him wholly blind, making planets such as Myrkr completely off the table
- Bacta Allergy; While most of the Galaxy's population is able to utilize the catch-all wonder product that is Bacta, Zech is deathly allergic. If applied to his outer skin, to cover an abrasion of sorts, he will come out in an unbearable rash, and if ingested or used on larger lacerations it can have poisonous consequences if not caught and treated quickly enough
- Trypanophobia; Zech will not, under any circumstances, allow a needle of any form to come near him. While it may seem like little more than an irrational fear, when paired with his Bacta allergies it can sometimes make healing him a pain in the backside, forcing slower or less practical methods to be used instead
- Alone Among Many; Though Zech belongs to a rather large crew, and as such is often surrounded by people, he has remained mostly to himself. This is a pattern that has been established throughout his life, he was raised away from his parents, focused on his Journey toward becoming a Je'daii at the hand of Master Sicmus, and now that he has reached that goal he finds it difficult to interact with people outside of duty

Pre-Roleplay History
While still an infant child on Bakura, war was brought to the otherwise placid and peaceful world. Men and women were drafted to fight against the onslaught, and the children who were left behind were bundled together and sent offworld with the intent of being returned once the worst of it was over.
Some, however, never made it back home.
Zech was one such child. The ship which had been transporting them back to Bakura, to their eagerly waiting families, suffered severe malfunctions, plummeting toward the nearest star system. It crashed into the Endless Swamps of Zakuul, where an Anzat Je'daii and his student had been studying the strange anomalies in the Force found there.
Most of the children died on impact, and those who didn't suffered grievous wounds that led to a similar fate. Much to the Je'daii's surprise, however, three survived the ordeal: Lese, Remy, and Zech.
While he was not equipped to take care of three estranged children, and given that the ship burned out leaving no trace of where they had been headed, the Anzat made a conscious decision bring the trio to then-Republic space, in the hopes that they could flourish in the Core. During their healing process, however, he had discovered that one among them had a high midi-chlorian count.
Seeing this as a sign from the Force, he decided to keep and raise that child, with the intent of training him toward becoming a Je'daii in his own right.
Zech took to the Je'daii's teachings remarkably well; the lessons were adapted to accommodate his blindness, and given how young he had been to begin with there had been little in the way of bad habits to break. When the Anzat's own student finished his Journey, he focused entirely on molding Zech into the epitome of Je'daii ideals.
His affinity toward technology was noticed early on, and the Anzat did all he could to let this side of Zech flourish. He brought in Je'daii contacts from across the Galaxy to hone his abilities, and put the boy through flight school once he was old enough.
The Great Journey came soon after, and with his newly acquired ship Zech stepped away from his Master's teachings and traveled across the stars, seeking out the splintered Je'daii and learning from any he encountered. Though unorthodox, he managed to complete his trials this way and settled into his newfound role as a Je'daii Ranger.
His affinity toward technology made him a perfect match for Anil Kesh, however the few Adherents of Stav Kesh who roamed the Galaxy took him in and began to hone his fighting style, making use of his blindness and making it an advantage as opposed to an obstacle. While there was nothing wrong with aspiring toward two Tho Yor, it surprised his Master all the same when he opted to split his focus between the two.
When the Je'daii eventually came together on Teth for the Great Gathering, Zech accompanied his former Master and was surprised to see how many faces showed up. Some he had met along his own journey, others were entirely foreign to him. He watched as his Master ascended to the Council, claiming the spot as Temple Master of Akar Kesh, and when the time came to decide whether to join this new found Order, or remain a wanderer, he opted to settle in to the Temple.
He was given command of the Je'daii's main exploratory vessel during this time, a beauty known as the
Lunar Moth, and when the Order uprooted to Aurum he instead took the opportunity to lead an expedition to explore the darker regions of space surrounding the nearby systems.
Though he gains frequent reports from the Je'daii's new home, he has still yet to visit, happy in his newfound station.
