Description: The Core Imperial Confederation is a federated coalition of system governments that have created a new level of governance using the centralised Imperial model for trade and protection against foreign governments that might wish to annex their homeworlds and see their prosperous economies and vibrant populations enslaved.

The Confederation itself is a federal unitary one-party state headed by a high chancellor, who presides over a legislative body with exclusive overriding jurisdiction over a broad range of areas including but not limited to: Births & Deaths, Census & Statistics, Citizenship, Defence, Foreign Policy, Immigration, Intergalactic Trade, Marriage and Quarantine while generally permitting individual Sectors and Colonies to legislate in areas outside of this jurisdiction, each Colony is provided legislative influence in the Imperial Government through an elected representative in the lower house known as the “Imperial Assembly”. All members of the military and the government whether “Federal” or “Colonial” are provided membership to the Imperial People's National Party and receive benefits of being able to participate in formulating party policy and nominating candidates for Governor positions.

While the cause of the party is outwardly noble and permitting a degree of executive, legislative and judicial autonomy in its’ colonies, there exists a seedy underbelly as with all interstellar governments. Discrimination is overtly evident in the Confederation’s legislation against aliens and humanoid aliens, with both groups ineligible for Imperial citizenship based entirely on their race. The Imperial Military justifies policy of recruiting Humans and Near-Humans exclusively as these groups are not only eligible for Citizenship, but physiologically compatible with strict uniform policy and guidelines which mandates that individuals must be able to wear standard-issue Uniforms and Protective equipment without any modification.

The Core Imperial Confederation respects the limited rights and privileges afforded to its’ Citizens, but in the end:

The Empire rises again.

The Pitch: The first Empire failed, that much is clear, but the thing is that the board is dominated by Sith, Jedi, and smugglers once again. We would like the opportunity to have a go at providing the board with an Imperial Faction in the role of an antagonist, with a mixture of damnable and redeeming qualities. Compared to the other Imperial Factions already on the board the Core Imperial Confederation is inspired heavily by the Galactic Empire in Canon during its’ early history complete with a legislative party which on its’ surface seems democratic until you realise it’s a one-party state that discriminates against Non-Humans. The Galactic Empire within Star Wars lore is characterised by an ostensibly noble pursuit of justice and stability, while contrasted steeply with authoritarianism and humanocentrism, that contrast and contradiction is what we as a faction are interested in exploring.

Originally the Galactic Empire failed in no small part due to a lack of membership who lost interest, at the time there was really only one prominent Imperial Faction on the board who collected a large slice of that market of characters but now there is a handful and it forces us to drive towards a vision that distinguishes itself from the others. Which we’re attempting to do by remaining focused on those key themes of ruthlessness and authoritarianism while sprinkling in some contradicting nobility and civility.

Moving into the future the Core Imperial Confederation will be building upon its’ lore and attempting to bring more of the prosperous core worlds into the fold, promising homogenised Defence, Trade and Immigration Controls in return for joining a fledging centralised government that prioritises efficiency, justice and stability with all other considerations coming secondary to this triad.
