SPECIAL FEATURES

• Smaller and more compact than the larger Mahporeenian Lightning Collector, making it easier to install aboard different vehicles
• When installed onto a vehicle, the Mahporeenian Lightning Rod provides a temporary "electric surge" boost when hit by Sith Lightning, letting the vehicle it's mounted onto recharge its weapons more quickly

STRENGTHS

• Path of least resistance: Being made of out highly conductive metals means that Sith Lightning is more likely to be attracted to the Mahporeenian Lightning Rod
• Power surge: When mounted onto a vehicle, the Mahporeenian Lightning Rod provides a temporarily "power boost" whenever it is hit by lightning, increasing the recharge rate of all onboard laser cannons
• Morale boost: The mere sight of these devices is often enough to boost friendly troop morale, regardless of their actual effectiveness
• Grounded: When installed directly into the ground, the Mahporeenian Lightning Rod is nearly immune to being destroyed from repeated lightning strikes

WEAKNESSES

• Largeish: Though more compact than the Mahporeenian Lightning Collector, the Mahporeenian Lightning Rod is still a relatively large piece of equipment
• Niche: The Mahporeenian Lightning Rod has literally only one purpose, that being grounding and redirecting Sith Lightning away from ground troops.
• Imperfect: Because Sith Lightning is a force based attack, the Mahporeenian Lightning Rod may not be able to attract lightning strikes with perfect accuracy
• Vulnerable: Though these devices are designed to handle large amounts of electricity, they can get overwhelmed by repeated strikes and be destroyed when mounted onto vehicles
• Inefficient: Compared to the larger Mahporeenian Lightning Collector, the Mahporeenian Lightning Rod is less capable of drawing in and grounding Sith Lightning

DESCRIPTION

Though the Mahporeenian Lightning Collector is an undoubtedly important piece of Imperial equipment, it is not without flaw, as the device is quite large and heavy, meaning that it can only be mounted to suitably large vehicles. In response, the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant has developed a smaller and more compact version of the device, that being the Mahporeenian Lightning Rod.

Much like the Mahporeenian Lightning Collector, the Mahporeenian Lightning Rod works in the exact same way, by offering lightning a "path of least resistance" with its highly conductive Aluminium and Tungsten parts to follow, keeping ground forces safe from being struck. The Mahporeenian Lightning Rod also offers the same "power surge" benefit as its large cousin, temporarily increasing the recharge rate of onboard laser cannons whenever it is struck.

Unfortunately, because it is even smaller than its cousin, the Mahporeenian Lightning Rod is even less efficient at conducting electricity and is even more likely to be destroyed from repeated lightning strikes when mounted to a vehicle, though it does share the same near immunity to destruction when installed into the ground that the Mahporeenian Lightning Collector has.
