STRENGTHS
  • Alchemised with Mask and Thought Shield. The first allows Kyriaki to shift her appearance, the second to ward her thoughts against mental intrusion. The Thought Shield function is a passive ability, which means that Kyriaki does not need to focus to trigger it. The Mask ability, on the other hand, needs to be activated by her. Moreover, Kyriaki can alter her voice to match that of the form she is assuming or use a bland, metallic one that does not give gender or identity away. This means others cannot identify her by her voice.
  • Impressive resilience against mental attacks and illusions. It also protects well against elemental hazards.
  • Allows the user to manifest a ‘slippery presence’ in the Force comparable to the Force ability utilised by the Dark Jedi Alema Rar. This enables her to slip from the memories of others moments after encountering them. By pulling her power into herself, Kyriaki can adopt a mask of insignificance and hide in plain sight.
WEAKNESSES
  • While strictly speaking not an artefact of the dark side per se, the device was created via Sith alchemy and is thus susceptible to Force Light. Powerful applications can turn the mask inert or even destroy it outright. Moreover, they can be painful for the wearer if she is wearing it when struck.
  • Force null zones. Naturally anything imbued by the Force can be affected by things that negate the mystical energy field. The most prominent example are Ysalamiri. The mask will lose all supernatural qualities inside a ysalamir field. If Kyriaki is wearing a different face when this happens, the mask will revert to its normal appearance. Aside from being an inconvenience, it also makes it look aeshetically unappealing.
  • A lot of kinetic damage can also crack the mask and potentially cause the wearer's true appearance to flicker through. The mask resists glancing blows from lightsabres, but not full-on impacts.
  • Mask allows her to literally reshape her appearance. However, it cannot change her height or weight. In short, she cannot try to pass as someone who has a vastly different body structure or mass. Nor does it change her clothing.
DESCRIPTION

The Disciples of the Vader have been responsible for many horrible atrocities, including mass killings and enslavement of those they deem 'inferior'. They also issue their members with masks that look like something a Vader fanboy would wear. Then again, they are a cult of human supremacist Vader fanboys stuck on a backwater planet. Their record is one of pointless destruction and murder. Kyriaki dislikes her mask because it makes her feel uncomfortable and she believes it looks silly. Moreover, the reluctant Disciple has little truck with the Sith cult's mysticism and pseudo-scientific twaddle. However, being the practical sort, she decided to modify her mask with alchemy in order to make it more useful.

It has been imbued with the power of Mask. This ability enables it to shift into whatever form the wearer desires. In short, it is a way for Kyriaki to alter her appearance. This is obviously not a passive ability that is always there, but requires a mental command and thu ssome focus on her part. Once this is done, it covers her face, then morphs into the specific face she wants. Once this is done and her appearance has completely altered, it feels and behaves as if it were her original skin. To someone who touches the mask while it is in this state it will feel like touching flesh. To complete the deception, Kyriaki can alter her voice. Naturally she can remove it and return to her original appearance.

Moreover, it has been imbued with Thought Shield to help her conceal her innermost thoughts from the scrutiny of other Force-Users. It gives her strong protection against mental attacks, illusions and attempts to read her thoughts. Naturally the mask also does the normal things a helmet does, like protect Kyriaki from chemicals and so on. Finally, the mask allows Kyriaki to cultivate a slippery presence comparable to that of a Twi'lek darkside adept called Alema Rar. The young clone learned about it while perusing forbidden literature. Aside from these features, the mask is quite standard. It protects the wearer from gas and other chemicals and has a basic air supply. Moreover, it features a basic HUD that allows Kyriaki to access different vision modes such as low-light and infrared.

When asked how she alchemised the mask, Kyriaki brags about sacrificing some 'uppity alien workers and blood traitors'. The Vaderites approve of putting lesser beings in their place. It is no surprise that so many 'lesser beings' rebel or try to escape when given the chance and the Vaderites never run out of people who hate them. In truth, she had a couple low-ranking Vaderite goons whose sadism she found distasteful or whose demeanour she considered too disrespectful to her murdered and used their blood. They are probably more useful in death than they could ever be in life. Kyriaki called the finished product the Maalraas Mask, after a predator that is able to use the Force to cloak itself.
