Situated between the Eskellon Mountains and on the shore of the Southern Passage, the city of Lyst remains another expansive and newer city that has grown exponentially with the influx of trade and credits coming through the planet of Kesh in recent years. It remains in a valley like split in the mountains to its sides and curls around the open water in such a way to cover as much of its shore as it can.

Affiliation: Like Gyn, the city is officially ruled by the Keshiri government as it is part of their very culture in its own right. But unlike the previous city it holds no other affiliations and the city itself is directly run by the central government of Kesh, the King, instead of its own political representative.

 • Mainly used for the storage materials as well as sea based trade, transport and luxury. The Lyst Shipyards are a pivotal part of the city’s growth due to its old tech feeling while still using advanced propulsion.

The Gardens of a Hundred Stars.

 • A grand expanse at the center of the city, it retains a great, resident grown and cared for forest like park that has long walkways through it mixed in with multiple gardens of flowers and other such plants to improve the beauty of the area. It as well contains two buildings dedicated to artistic works and statues line the ways around the gardens.

Description: Covering an expansive amount of land as it is, the city of Lyst continues its coverage over the coastal valley that it was constructed at. It reaches a great deal that it can easily encompass several smaller cities within it and still have room.

Being an industrial highway for the continent of Alanciar as well as its main port and trade center, this city is greatly maintained and beautiful as seen by its name. Kept in such a picture perfect fashion due to its security and military past as well as through the ability to work without restriction it has even a dystopian feel to it without the actually oppressiveness of a government commonly associated with dystopian like settings.

In no way does it remain without poverty with that said, though due to the makeup of the city as well as its structure, stable living and rations like in Gyn are given out in an even more effective manner as well as a low crime rate simply because of the dangers associated with such.

With all that, its military past is the most overbearing part of its set up. Structured in such a way that the main military complex, a fourth of the city devoted to the military complex, it remains the single most expansive military academy and citadel on the planet. In addition to its size remains the number of both residents and trainees in this sector at any one time, numbering two million normally with spikes from time to time depending on the dangers presented to the world or the city itself.

The main portion of that sector being devoted to the Imperial Army and Navy of Kesh, with a smaller portion devoted to the Shadow Legion itself in which to train and live with their families. In addition to simple living space and barracks, the military base itself maintains more than three dozen hangers in which to situate fighter squadrons and other ships of no larger than a Corvette. It also maintains a vehicular lot containing numerous tanks, walkers, speeders, and other weapons of war. Its armories are situated throughout this sector to allow for soldiers to readily be armed in case of emergency or training.

History:

Unlike its sister city Gyn, Lyst had been founded a decade prior to Gyn’s initial start, making the city itself a decade and a half old upon its first construction. While expansive, more so than its counterpart is, this is due to its purpose. Originally founded as a military academy and housing for the soldiers and prospective officers stationed there it was accustomed to a presence of at any one time one million souls. Those being the servicemen and women as well as their families and extensive Uvak Pens that were stationed in the nearby mountains.

With the creation of this military academy by the current ruling faction on the planet it provided a constant stream of troops and defenses for what might be an invasion or their own expansion outwards. This of course soon became more though.

Ten years before the current date the city expanded into its industrial purposes due to the nearby mountain ranges as well as the numerous industrial cities on the continent with it. While not only just the industrial capital that it could be, the city retained a strong trade presence by way of sea and atmospheric flight. This improved its own economy and started a boom that continued as more prospective craftsmen, business entrepreneurs and people looking to provide services such as residential and commercial profits began to migrate to the city as well.

Around the sixth year before the current date during the transfer of power that brought in a new imperial government, the city itself hit another spike in growth due to the state expansion acts in which supplied Gyn with its boom and created a stronger Lyst and Tahv. Such an Act also expanded the State Control on the city. This meant that the King directly ran and controlled the city in the same way a representative would. It was further then made into the capital of the training of the Shadow Legion as well as the Keshiri Imperial Army.

With the growth to the city, key buildings expanded, mostly industrial, trade, and military in comparison to the political and interplanetary trade that Gyn supplied.

Intent: To create another City to expand the Lore of Kesh in our universe.

Please either spoiler the location image or attach it to this submission as a link. Also, align the paragraph underneath the photo to the left side of the page. It looks weird (and is distracting) being centered with the paragraph underneath it being aligned left.

Apologies for the wait, my drive to write has been phenomenal lately and... oh, pish-posh. No excuses! I've been a negligent Owl! Nonetheless, I am terribly sorry.

Now, onward!

I must say that, given your intention to submit the military complex in subsequent location subs, that I find nothing particularly wrong with this submission. I almost thought the population numbers were excessive for a newer city, but that doesn't seem to be the case after picking through the submission another couple times and thinking it through. It doesn't seem unreasonable, as it is only around 1/10th of a single billion, given most ecumenopoleis (planets with a single worldwide city, e.g. Coruscant) can hit a trillion, and New York City was over eight billion as of 2014... and we're an advanced civilization here, on Chaos. Well, I'd like to think so!

So that being said, I mark this submission pending approval, and hand it off to one of [member="Valiens Nantaris"] or [member="Lorelei Darke"].
