What was it? The darkness in this room was terrible. Only a candle lighted the area in front of Maria. And the same was with the other three people sitting behind the table. They were all hooded, so the woman couldn't see their faces and of course the lightning was not good enough to enlighten their faces even a little. The only things which could be seen in front of the people were...
... their plates...
The plate was full of wonderful food. For Maria, there was a lovely steak, prepared exactly like she loved it; with wine. When looking at the other four candles and thus, the four plates, she saw three different plates which all had different food. They were most likely their favourite dishes... She wasn't sure, though.
"Hello!"
The voice echoed in the room.
It was empty.
Only darkness.
And the table in the darkness.
And the plates.
Candles...
With the fork which had been placed on the left side of the dish, Maria took a small piece of the steak. It was fantastic, it was perfect. She had never had better meat than this, which was strange. If they were in Arx Mortis, it would have been terrible, because her slaves didn't know how to cook.
Weird...
