  • Affiliation: Lujo System; The Republic
  • Fleet Symbol:

  • Description: The Lujo Defense Directive Fleet was a flexible and small defense fleet in service to the Lujo System and the Republic. Fighter Heavy and lacking in full sized "slug it out" capital ships they often utilized small carrier ships to complete missions and moved their forces in small flotillas. Despite this, most of their missions ended with success, mostly due in part to the hit and run tactics they utilized with their exceptionally talented starfighter corps. Most of the Lujo Defense Directive came from the Twi'lek colonies that had began calling Lujo home only a two centuries prior, creating a strong Twi'lek Military tradition and pride within the Directive.
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: Planetside, aboard the LDD Wave Glider
  • Ports of Call:
    • Lujo
  • Goals: To defend Lujo and aid the Republic in keeping its space lanes safe
  • Reputation: While still young, they gained a solid following by young would-be pilots and Twi'leks on Lujo. Other small worlds and systems on the boarder of Republic space as well saw them as a role model in how a rapid response to danger should occur. They've gained a large amount of favor and respect from the Republic Senate as one of the first systems to adopt their own defense force.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
When the Corellian Confederation began its shift towards a Republic, the people of Lujo were given a choice, rapidly develop a defense wing to aid in the local patrols of the system or wait for the Corellian Confederation and the Republic to rehash their military. The resilient people of Lujo decided on the former. Scrapping together vessels and fighters from all walks of life, the Lujo Defense Directive was born. In a few short months the governor and the senator had made deals with the Intergalactic Banking Clan to secure enough funds to put the group together, ultimately adopting their new "Galactic Standard Credit". Though ragtag, their aces began quickly garnering the respect of other defense forces in the Republic, aiding in mop up operations of scattered Frozen Hand fleets after the Battle of Byss despite their small size. Though the Republic did want to move towards a more centralized military in the wake of the Frozen Hand Crisis and the re-emergence of aggressive Sith action, they didn't have the solid foundation they needed and so many systems began following Lujo's own example leaving Lujo with a sort of prestige. After skirmishes with the Frozen Hand remnant where their Naboo-Class starfighters played a pivotal role in subduing the enemy, the craft became synonyms with the Lujo Defense Directive around the edges of Republic Space.
