Advanced Military Grade Deflector Shields

STRENGTHS

The Stars Have Ears: In addition to its primary role as a communication relay, each Eyayah-Class is designed to be a discreet surveillance device and listening post for the surrounding system. As a result it is packed with all manner of sensors and equipment that allow it to monitor both communication and starship traffic.
Two Cups And A Piece String: Eyayah-Class utilises a network of S-Threads, or Simu-Tunnels, to securely transmit information across vast distances. Due to how S-Threads function, information transmitted in this manner can only be intercepted at the source or the target destination.
This Message Will Self-Destruct: In an attempt to further ensure the sanctity of the relay network, each Eyayah-Class is fully primed rigged with a baradium charge that is hooked up to a DeadHutt failsafe mechanism. Any attempt to breach the hull of the relay results in a two-fold explosion that first eradicates the secure information drives, then overloads the reactor in an attempt to also erase anyone in the immediate vicinity.

WEAKNESSES

Automation: While it can potentially house technical staff for short periods of time should need arise, the Eyayah-Class is designed to be a fully automated and independently managed communication relay, with an onboard V.I. managing a small droid contingent and in turn overseen the designated A.I. for the sector. This understandably leaves it open to potential exploitation from both outside and within on a local and wider scale.
Pull The Thread: Should an external force manage to compromise an Eyayah-Class Relay, they will quickly discover that they can also access Stellarcom data streams throughout the whole system and corresponding local sector. This is due to each sector using the same S-Thread network. Such intrusions tend to be brief due to an A.I. monitoring each station, but they can be both potentially catastrophic and highly damning all the same.
DeadHutt, Dead Hand: While useful to prevent tampering, the DeadHutt switch can be something of a double edged sword. It only takes one system error, power glitch or hull breach to destroy an entire system’s communication hub. Likewise, it can be quite literally murder on any visiting technical crews if they’re not careful. A cunning infiltrator could theoretically bypass the failsafe altogether if they were familiar with the design, assuming they can contend with the onboard V.I.

DESCRIPTION

Marketed as an independent, secure and reliable communication network for sectors of the galaxy often overlooked by larger providers, the Eyayah-Class is a surprisingly high budget production item for the service the company charges. With top of the line hyperspace transceivers, highly encrypted and free from interception no less, heavy military grade shielding and a fully automated V.I. managed maintenance program, it is certainly odd why you find it more commonly in backwater regions and on the Outer Rim than in towards the Core - although considerable footholds are being gained everyday!
Unbeknownst to many, the relay actually makes most of its funding back via hosting numerous undervines and less-than-regulated shadowfeeds for discerning customers (Read: Criminals, freedom fighters, smugglers, etc.). Unbeknownst to even more, it also monitors information feeds, communication logs, in and outbound system traffic and a variety of other sources of data. This is sifted, sorted and subsequently filed away as part of Stellarwinds growing information brokerage operation.
Due to the questionably obtained nature of the information a relay could potentially gather over time, the Eyayah also features a rather nasty two phase self-destruct mechanism designed to activate should the hull ever become compromised. This is primarily aimed at eradicating any incriminating information and equipment first and foremost, with the subsequent overload of the reactor serving really to just to underscore the point.
