Private Lost At Sea

“It’ll all make sense once you clear your mind and give yourself to the Force.”

''Clear my mind? That's a lot fo ask for right now, don't you think?'' Brie thought silently for herself while trying her best to stay connected with whatever force that was clinging onto her. It lead her on, encouraged her and showed them the way. Maybe Jax could read her mind, but at this point, she didn't really care about that. She just wanted off this vessel and be back together with the others. Her friends. Her big sister. This Jax guy? He'd grown on her, she would admit. He seemed like a kind man with good values, even though she had a slightly hard time of trusting someone that had been mixed together with her by the force of pirates.

He placed his hands on his hips. “So,” Jax said. “You wanna take a chance on the ventilation shaft?”

Brie glanced up the shaft once more, sighed once after a secod thought, and looked back at Jax. ''Yeah, let's try and keep it stealthy. Try to make our way back to the ships, and at the same time go past the position of your droid. Would you help me up?'' she continued and expected Jax to help her gain some length to reach the shaft. Then they would be on their way to freedom, hopefully.

"Good call," Jax said waving his hand as a ladder fell down in front of them. "The last thing we need is an entire army looking for us."

Jax took out entire armies before but he couldn't go all out not with Brie with him and the fact that BB was in the clutches of the mercenaries. He needed to find him and fast. "Hopefully my X-Wing isn't gonna be scratched for parts," Jax said looking around. "Come on Brie, go and climb up first. I'll go after."

He sensed more men coming closer. It'll only be a matter of time before they discover that Jax and Brie escaped. "I suggest you hurry," Jax said. "We got company."

Brie jumped a bit backwards at the service ladder came down in front of them, offering an easy enterance to the ventilation shafts. She begun to climb it and was soon encouraged to make it up faster.

"I suggest you hurry," Jax said. "We got company."

Brie made it up the ladder and into the shaft like any other thin, five foot five, young teenager. She were very used to this. Finding and getting through tight places like piles of junk during her days as a salvager, like that time on Terminus, and following folks like Daiya Daiya who always seemed to find the most hidden and oddest places to use as means to get around and not attract too much of attention to themselves.

She scooted far enough into the ventilation shaft to give Jax some room. Once he was up and she made sure that he pulled back the ladder, closed the grille and thus wiping out their traces - hopefully - she turned onto her stomach and crawled further into the shaft. Luckily, it went straight for at least a good couple of meters before it split into a t-crossing. Brie pulled a blonde strand out of her face and looked back at Jax.

''Alright, Mr. Jedi... Can your superhuman senses feel which way to go? Please, say yes.'' she hissed to keep their voices low. The spot they were at right now could as well be right above some kind of room or corridor with a search party. ''Can you feel how far we are from that droid ball of yours?'' she added and hoped that the search for that droid would not get them into trouble. At the same time, as a formerly lone salvager, she could understand his connection for the droid. That made her wonder about the mans other acquiantances. Didn't he have an Order or something? Jedi friends? He seemed to turn up wherever she were, and had already hinted about his wish for her to follow the ways of The Force. She were just a scrapper girl! A scrapper girl that, until her kidnapping, had gained friends that she loved and had part of her family discovered. If following his religion meant she had to sacrifice them? No. No way, was her first thought. She had read about Jedi's having to hide their relationships and even their own childrens. If a little Brie Junor eventually would turn up with Cassus...

Questions and considerations for another, less pressed time, she thought as she looked at the man for an answer and direction where to go next.

"We can," Jax smirked at Brie. "The Jedi operate on feeling we allow the Force to guide our actions. You might have experienced this on a subconscious level. There might be times where you were stuck while be chased and you had that gut instinct niggling at you to take an unexpected route or maybe that instinct told you to stand your ground."

He could sense that Brie still felt uneasy possibly joining the Jedi. Jax couldn't blame her, she was the type who enjoyed her freedom. On the other hand, Jax still couldn't shake that faint connection he was feeling towards Brie. This was his last chance to convince her to learn the ways of the Force. Brie was more than willing to sever that connection and be with her loved ones. "If that's what she decides," Jax thought. "Then so be it. The Force has a way of having people confront the flashpoints of their lives."

"If we can cut through the ventilation shaft," Jax said. "It should take us about 20 minutes to get to BB." A tremor in the Force spoke to Jax, the guards were coming. "Go first," Jax gulped. "And hurry before the guards come."

''You might have experienced this on a subconscious level. There might be times where you were stuck while be chased and you had that gut instinct niggling at you to take an unexpected route or maybe that instinct told you to stand your ground."

That the young Shadowrunner had, as she had already thought of. More than a gut feeling. More than an instinct. This... Force, certainly had its ways with peoples minds. Her green eyes looked back at the man, her hands and knees dusty with the dirt from the ventilation shaft not having been cleaned for a decenium. She could feel, or hear his thoughts in her mind! Or was it...? No, if anything that was fething creepy!

''Please, just get out of my head til this is over... It's not exactly the time, is it...?'' she stated in a firm but low tone. ''Right now, it's more of an obstacle than a help... I've sneaked through worse... so... let's just help and rely on eachothers best skills, alright...?'' Brie added pleadingly, not feeling comfortable having this connection right now. At the same time, flashbacks of her own father emerged. He was also this considering and encouraging that she would go in a certain school or follow a certain path, vague memories was played before her eyes. As soon as they were out of this situation, they could talk.

"If we can cut through the ventilation shaft," Jax said. "It should take us about 20 minutes to get to BB." A tremor in the Force spoke to Jax, the guards were coming. "Go first," Jax gulped. "And hurry before the guards come."

''Uh, you got a torch burner in your pocket...? Because, I don't!'' Brie hissed and awaited that the Jedi had some sort of means to just cut through the ventilation shaft.

Jax was confused at what Brie was saying at first before he realized that she was becoming aware of the Force. The mystical energy surrounded her mind filling her with unhappy memories of her past. The Jedi Master waved his hand in hopes that he could help her control the thoughts and memories the Force has been showing Brie. "I promise," Jax said. "But you need to breathe Brie, what you're experiencing is awareness of the Force. It's a lot to take in especially when its showing pictures of the past, present, and future."

Jax remembered being aware of the Force for the first time. To feel the world around him and to experience visions peaceful and foreboding. It felt like he was being born a second time. "Indeed," Jax nodded crawling through the shaft. "I like tinkering with tech but you got more knowledge on certain things than I do."

The Jedi Master fiddled around in his pockets until he felt a torch burner. "Where the hell did this come from?" Jax muttered before sighing. "Ugh..... BB did this. He wanted to use this device to help him get high....."

There was pregnant pause before Jax smiled at Brie. "It's for his Deathsticks," he said before tossing the device. "What do you have in mind?"
