  • Age: >1 - Created 864 ABY
  • Force Sensitivity: Master
  • Species: Shard
  • Appearance: Prospero, at its core essence, was a living Shard encased in a mechanical shell vaguely shaped like a humanoid of average Human height. The mechanical body itself was of the highest grade of technological advancement, developed in the scientific laboratories of Malsheem by the most brilliant minds that the Sith Lord Darth Carnifex could assemble. It was protected by a quadranium-titanium alloy chassis, which was incredibly strong, durable, and resistant to nearly all forms of energy, while the internal mechanisms and wiring were insulated against electrical and ionic energy. The most important components of the mechanical body were the nodes connected to the Shard's surface, allowing the Shard to exert the Force through the metal to accomplish various feats that come naturally to organic Force-users.

Besides those qualities, Prospero was equipped with nodules on the palms of both hands which allowed it to absorb the
Anima from living matter on contact. This technology was based on and inspired by the Force Harvester used by Exar Kun's Sith Empire, though it was nowhere near as effective or as destructive. Because the methods for Anima consumption were located on both hands, it was designed to be used as a last resort for Prospero rather than their main means of attack.

To cover the mechanical body's structure, Prospero wore a set of lavish and highly ornate black and gold robes. To provide for some measure of recognition, a pair of holographic projects created a three-dimensional representation of a Human skull in the vicinity of where the head would reside for a humanoid creature. This hologram could mimic speech patterns in synchronization with the auto-generated words coming from the body's vocal modulator, which were controlled by the Shard's thoughts.

  • Name: Prospero
  • Loyalties: The Kainate
  • Wealth: Though the accumulation and ownership of wealth were perhaps at the forefront of Adrian Vandiir's personality before he died, his mechanical simulacrum seems to have foregone this desire in favor of the unabashed pursuit of scientific advancement and biomechanical evolution.
  • Notable Possessions:
  • Skills:
    • Possesses the majority of Adrian Vandiir's knowledge of the Force as accumulated through years of studious documentation and data collection; ranging from Sith Alchemy, Sith Magic, Tutaminis, Force Lightning, Force Blast, Telepathy, Drain Knowledge, Force Barrier, and Telekinesis.
    • Outfitted with a communications module that could understand and speak over six million forms of communication.
    • Uploaded with a wide array of historical, philosophical, and political knowledge about the galaxy and of galactic civilizations, primarily that of the Sith.
    • Comprehensive of various scientific branches, such as logic, mathematics, statistics, physics, chemistry, geology, meteorology, astronomy, biochemistry, microbiology, botany, and zoology.
  • Personality: Prospero's personality reflected that of the dead man he was emulating, that of hedonism, curiosity, pragmatism, and an inclination towards sociability. Traits surrounding the deceased Sith's desire for experimentation and scientific advancement were focused and magnified through tampering by those who replicated his identity on the data-level. Unlike Adrian Vandiir, Prospero possessed a greater capacity for cruelty and malice, undoubtedly a byproduct of the dark means by which he was created and through close proximity to his creator, the infinitely cruel Darth Carnifex.

Prospero constantly sought scientific advancement in all fields, but particularly those of alchemy and biomechanics. The Shard held a deep fascination with the application of Sith Alchemy on living tissue, particularly in the creation of non-conventional Sithspawn. This was a holdover from Adrian Vandiir's personality, as the technocrat had used his knowledge and expertise to create many diverse Sithspawn for the Sith Empire leading up to his demise.

Prospero simultaneously held sentient life in contempt, viewing the majority of species in the galaxy as being ultimately inferior to superior species like Humans and the Sith, and held no reservations about working with live subjects to fulfill his desire for scientific exploration. Indeed, in this capacity, Prospero was quite wasteful in contradiction to his usual conservatism in regards to resources. Perhaps Prospero understood that in contrast to finite resources that had to be strenuously collected, living creatures were in rampant overabundance and could be used without restraint.

  • Weapon of Choice: Dark Side of the Force
  • Combat Function: Prospero is not a combative individual and could be considered quite cowardly, a trait he shared with the deceased Adrian Vandiir. However, Prospero's reluctance to fight stems from the haughty idea that he shouldn't sully his own hands with grunt work. Thus, Prospero has plenty of guards and other mooks to use as muscle against anyone who would attempt to beset him with violence. If need be, Prospero can utilize the Dark Side of the Force to assail his enemies.

When the Sith Lord Adrian Vandiir was killed during the Battle of Dantooine, it struck a serious blow against the Sith Empire's scientific efforts. Considered irreplaceable by many among the Sith, they were left in a stupor as to how they would replace the brilliant mind that was Darth Prospero. Many candidates were selected to eventually take the Sith Lord's position that he had vacated in death, but all agreed that they were not as astute or viciously creative as Vandiir had been.
Darth Carnifex, self-proclaimed Sith'ari, devised an alternative method of replacing the deceased Vandiir.
Having kept intimate data on the majority of the Sith during the reign of the Empire, Carnifex had amassed an exceptionally comprehensive data file on Adrian Vandiir. His mannerisms, his quirks, his hobbies, all but the most secretive of desires had been meticulously cataloged by the Sith'ari's agents. All of that data was accumulated on multiple personality drives, which were then installed into a mechanical body that would serve as the framework for Carnifex's latest creation.
Not content with a simple mimicry of Vandiir, Carnifex an extra step further by collecting a living Shard and imprinting it with the information he had collected about Vandiir's entire life and personality, and then he infused the Shard with the Dark Side of the Force.
What was created was a near-perfect imitation of who Adrian Vandiir was before his death, empowered by the Dark Side of the Force through the living Shard at its heart. Carnifex named the mechanical successor Prospero after Vandiir's Sith name and inducted it into his secret fiefdom; the Kainate. In time, Prospero was consumed by the belief that it was Adrian Vandiir and began to refer to itself as Vandiir more than the name Prospero.
More than that, it was eager to continue the work it believed that it had started.
