Why is a holy man from the Ashlan Crusade seeking criminal connections.

There is one simple answer, because church corruption

In all seriousness, I am looking for stories that revolve around the underworld. To better expand my character's connections outside of the ashlan crusade. Of course I am open to any ideas either through a meeting with your character, random encounter. Or something grander that we can discuss over. I was thinking that maybe going to Denon would be an interesting story-wise.
