SETTING INFORMATION
Name: Long Abandoned Junkyard
Classification: Junkyard
Location: a remote region of Zonju V (however, this is generic enough to retrofit into any suitably remote location)
Affiliation: none
Accessibility: The Junkyard is in a remote, desolate, very inhospitable area but is otherwise easily accessible
Description: Hulking wrecks of spacecraft rust alongside ancient droids in an acres wide swath of junk. Artificial mountains, valleys, and canyons lead the curious ever on. With the newest scrap on the surface, the junkyard actually continues downward for hundreds, if not thousands, of feet. The deeper one digs, the older and more decrepit the junk one finds. A haven of scavengers, the junkyard is home to any mechanical artifact one can imagine. Whether that artifact is still in usable condition is another matter altogether.
POINTS OF INTEREST
The Junkyard has the nearly organic trait of constantly evolving. The looming remains of a star destroyer could serve as a landmark for decades before collapsing into an unrecognizable pile of rubbish. Transients often build lairs in abandoned wrecks, only to lose track of those wrecks as the metal dunes shift. Although identifiable "points of interest" come and go, The Warren remains. The Warren is an ever shifting maze of "rooms" and "corridors" running through the upper layers of the Junkyard. It is fairly easy to find individual "rooms" formed from debris, or even an actual room from a broken starship, it is much more difficult to find an entrance to The Warren. Entrances, corridors, and rooms are constantly being created and destroyed as rusted hulks collapse, opening new areas while closing old ones.
SECURITY
none... although IF a random group/creature/etc were to take up temporary residence, there could be some surprises set up
History: A long forgotten war left its detritus here and, rather than try to clean up the mess, the locals added their own junk to the pile. This continued for centuries until the local population moved away leaving behind a mechanical graveyard. Periodically, a group of bandits or other ne'er-do-wells move in and use this labyrinthine waste as a base or hide-out. Invariably, these groups soon move on to more pleasant environs. It is often rumored that some nefarious organization such as the Cult of Ragnos roams the junkyard but these rumors are never verified.
