Seven years. It had taken Taiia seven long years to convince Allyson, full of batting eyelashes and charming smiles and many adventures together. While the two of them had been inseparable there was one thing Taiia wanted. She loved Allyson and wanted to be with her. For Allyson that was enough. Taiia wanted that to be recognized beyond the two of them.

Taiia knew Allyson's past and her hardships. The Corellian perhaps for the first time, shared things with Taiia that few had ever gotten close to. Allyson needed something steady, someone she could hold onto. Most of all she needed somebody who her tricks didn't work on. Taiia had proved to be all of these things, she had become that something Allyson could rely on.

The two had remained side by side in the intervening years traveling the galaxy as the Ascendancy rose on the galactic rim. Though ranging far Taiia always came back to her adopted family and today was a special occasion. Where Allyson and Taiia would be married and Darth Metus Darth Metus would preside over the union.

If Naboo had taught Taiia any one thing, nothing should be taken for granted and tomorrow was no guarantee. The one thing she had promised Allyson was that it would be a small affair, no grand celebration. Taiia didn't need or want that just a small ceremony on a quiet corner of Verun.

Seven years.

It had been more than that since she had met Taiia. Everything from that moment had changed the flow of her life. There was a new path opening, which meant she could somehow find that happiness that had always seemed just out of reach. Taiia had given her the courage to leave a life behind, to leave the corrupted Alliance and its selfish leaders. They were headed down a path that the Corellian only saw her dying for a cause that had no end. Forever was the war in the Core.

Allyson sat in the cockpit of the old X-Wing she had been restoring. Unlike the Alliance, the Ascendency or whatever they chose to call themselves now - had almost a calmness. There was still war, but there was a reason to fight.

Allyson wrinkled her nose. She was frustrated that her mind wandered to work instead of focusing on the paths in front of her. Fear still held tight around her heart for as brave as she was. She could run, leave all of this behind and let someone who could give Taiia the life she wants have a chance. On the other hand, she could let herself be happy. Allow herself to move past the ongoing chaos her life had always been and find a home.

Seven years, Taiia had been patient with the Corellian, and still, she sat in the cockpit of the fighter - ready to flee. "I wish you were here," Allyson whispered into the emptiness around her. Opening her hand, a small hologram image of her parents and sister flickered to life.

Allyson sat quietly, watching the flickering hologram till it flickered off. She let the locket dangle from her fingers as she turned it over, trying to turn it back on. Exhaling, she knew what her mother would say; she knew what Chris would be saying if she found her sitting by herself, contemplating running. Standing, Allyson pressed her hands against the canopy opening it enough for her to slip out.

The locket found its place in her pocket as she adjusted the leather jacket and headed inside. Wandering, she went into the home they had built with each other. "Taiia? You here?"

Wearing: [X]

Taiia stood in front of her mirror in the closet she shared with Allyson. She was carefully inspecting her appearance as she stood amidst various outfits she had tried on prior. While they were not doing a large ceremony she still wanted to look the part, her red shoulder-length hair contrasted sharply against the ivory fabric that draped over her form. It was elegant, yet light and breathed well in Verun's humid climate, Her eyes moved from the clothes to the face of her reflection, and reached a hand up to touch her ear, as if confirming it was hers.

One side effect of the battle with unmaker, when she merged fully with Medjai during the battle as he attempted to unmake her, in a very real sense Taiia was remade. It was unclear to her if she was remade in Medjai's image or not all she knew is she had changed, now Eldorai in perhaps every way except mentally. Even after seven years it was still a bit of a shock but at this point the act was little more than a nervous tick.

Hearing Allyson call out to her was all that Taiia needed to break her out of her thoughts. She wondered perhaps if Allyson was as nervous or more-so than herself as she stepped out of their shared room with a smile touching her lips. "And is there anywhere else I would be?" she inclined her head slightly as she approached the Corellian, partly wanting to tease but instead choosing affection a hand reached up and laid upon Allyson's cheek. "Are you alright love?" she could use the force to see what was troubling Allyson, but there was power in speaking it out loud.

It was unspoken, but she was more than happy to see Allyson was still here, there was always a chance deep in the back of her mind that Allyson could run away. It wouldn't be the first time, but like always she would wait for her to return. Even still knowing all she knew about the brunette, she really couldn't fault her. Nonetheless she would find in the green eyes of the redhead nothing but love and joy.
