Lila is a Dual-phase capable curved-hilt bifurcating cyclical-ignition pulse lightsabre constructed by Anarielle Giala Mero from parts of Lightsabres collected from destroyed, damaged and purchased examples that were either seized following combat or examples purchased on the black market by Anari during the Clone Wars. As a former Jedi Knight Anarielle was familiar with how to construct a functioning lightsabre cannibalizing the non-functioning weapons she possessed to produce a singular working weapon and in some cases it was necessary for the Sephi Woman to machine individual parts in a painstakingly slow process as there was no universal blueprint used to construct a lightsabre; for each Jedi it was a deeply personal affair and each differed sometimes greatly so from one-another which came to Anari's frustration when fabricating all the necessary parts and sometimes even having to fabricate new ones from scratch due to the rare and very slightly overzealous push. Believing firmly in the craftsman's skill and the necessity for secrecy Lila was fabricated using hand-tools and organic operated machinery exclusively without the aid of droids as a matter of pride. The selection of a Crystal was a greatly personal affair for Anari deciding that the Warden's weapon would have a pure heart she took a Hurrikaine crystal from one amongst the destroyed non-functioning weapons in her possession that had previously belonged to a dear Jedi friend whose life had been cut tragically short during the Clone War before Anari's powerless eyes, she had admired that Human for his unflinching belief in the righteousness of the Jedi Order and Republic. It was the honour of his memory that drove the Sephi woman to embrace the persona of the Warden who would scourge the Dark-Side and turn or imprison its' practitioners with an unyielding serene tenacity. Anarielle machined the Titanium housing into a curved-hilt Lightsabre style which compliments her own study and practice of Makashi as an elegant fencing-style combatant, with enough flexibility to switch into her second favorite form of Vaapad.
Anarielle implemented quite a number of useful features that she'd modified her own blade with over the course of the Clone Wars for their usefulness and observation of the modifications Jedi Generals were making to their blades such as the Bifurcating cyclical-ignition pulse which permitted use on worlds such Mon Cala which simply prevents the blade from shorting out when submerged, instead cycling the power source so quickly that the ignition system cannot be interrupted by the water's flow which is highly useful as she discovered during the war for underwater penetration of fortifications and civic infrastructure. Another feature is the dual-phase emitted which permits the wielder to shorten the blade's length by 34 centimeters which can be used to surprise hostile combatants who edge too close when the blade is in a shortened state or allow for more efficient close-quarters fighting. To aid in making sure the blade cannot be easily ripped from the wearer's grip even in a moment of lapsed focus or fatigue the handle is wrapped in magnatomically seal-able high-adhesion grips allowing it to be secure to a TYI Flex-Armour bodyglove worn over the wielder's hand for example. Lila has a vulnerability to Cortosis-weave forged vibroblades, swords and other melee weapons and the lightsabres' power supply unit is liable to having its' circuit-breaker trapped by more than brief contact with such a weapon and forcing Lila's wielder to rely on a different weapon. As a naturally occuring crystal focusing the magnetically contained plasma field Lila is vulnerable to collapsing on contact with the more powerful synthetically produced crystals favoured by Dark Jedi and Sith acolytes, in the event this happens the superheated plasma should be released wildly and erratically with the chance to injure all parties involved in the duel who are in close proximity to Lila and also trips the circuit-breaker on the blade's power supply unit forcing the Warden or wielder whoever they are to rely on another weapon until the circuit breaker automatically rights itself over time.
Strengths:
- Curved-Hilt Design: Anarielle constructed the blade as a curved-hilt design which increases dueling effectiveness when using the more aggressive and lightsabre-oriented forms such as forms II and VII known as "Makashi" and "Juyo" respectively. Allowing for the delivery of more powerful thrusts, parries and ripostes, these blades are most commonly seen amongst skilled Makashi practitioners betraying the Warden or wielder as such a practitioner. There is a trade-off to increased lethality however.
- Cutting Power: Lightsabres are amongst the most potent and dangerous portable weapon systems in the Galaxy and Lila is no different, it typically cuts through all but the most exotic and exquisite materials with ease permitting the wielder to inflict debilitating or life-threatening injuries in melee combat with frightening speed and efficiency permitted the assaulted party is not equipped with a similar weapon, or one that because of the principles under which it functions confers resistance to the Lightsabres' magnetic field such as Electro-plasma weapons or electrostaffs.
- Light-Side Crystal: As a normal Kyber Crystal Lila will not ignite if the sentient attempting to ignite the blade is strongly attuned and immersed in the Dark-side of the Force. To ignite the blade a dark-side immersed individual would need to overwhelm the Crystal with that malignant influence first and in doing so bend the light crystal to their will. As a natural Kyber crystal when the blade is active it can be perceived through the living force as a source of hope and comfort for nearby individuals attuned to the light-side and irritating for those immersed in the opposite.
- Cortosis Weaves: Despite their relative rarity and uncommon presence melee weapons such as swords or vibroblades equipped with Cortosis will temporarily disable Lila's battery on sustained contact permitting the assaulted party to then attack without fear or risk of being struck by the Lightsabres' incredibly hot magnetically-contained plasma blade. With the potential to force the wielder to temporarily disengage or retreat to a ranged distance and utilize another weapon.
- Curved-Hilt Design: Increased lethality in Makashi and offensive-based forms comes at the cost of making more defensive forms more difficult to perform efficiently as the curving shape of the blade makes certain stances and movements more difficult this is particularly noticeable in forms such as Soresu where techniques and correct posture can be difficult to maintain. This can be noticed in certain offensive techniques aswell that rely on brute-strength for their techniques as seen in Form five. Forcing Lila's wielder to conform to the blade's design which often results in lowered efficiency of certain offensive and protective techniques.
- Synthetic Crystal Contact: As a natural crystal provides the weapon's cutting power there is a minuscule albeit omnipresent risk that should the blade's magnetic plasma field come into contact with a magnetically contained plasma field created by a Synthetic Crystal that Dark Jedi and Sith favour highly Lila's magnetic constrained plasma will be released wildly with potential to harm both duelists and even permit the other party or parties to then strike out at the wielder before they can attempt to re-ignite the more than likely damaged weapon.
