In the video, Pan shows how he built the device, which comes with a nichrome ignition to propel the "light" and a syringe valve housed inside a 3D-printed enclosure. Add that to the methanol, acetone, and butane, and you have a mixture for lightsaber goodness.

While the device was able to push out a flammable "light," it lacked a core feature: the sound effect used when the lightsaber goes on. So, Pan added a button to the device that triggers the same sound effect.

Admittedly, the lightsaber Pan built is not on the same scale as the one in theaters, but it's still impressive. It's essentially a small flamethrower, and looks best in dark environments.

I mean, I have seen lasers actually cut stuff, and the like, but if you make a laser that can cut paper and balloons, it goes on forever. With this guys invention, its really close. Only its more like a flame thrower. The liquid concoction he uses still keeps on going, even if its not on fire. So thats why in the video he wasn't flinging it around. And like he said. "Hes scared of it."
