STANDARD FEATURES
  • The Lightpoint Station comes fully equipped with the whole standard array of shields, systems, and components that are normally associated with vessels of this size and class.
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Get Out of Jail: Secret failsafe mechanism that allows the station to engage its experimental phase drive and brute-force itself out of sticky situations. This is a one-way trip that causes extensive electronic damage. When the station reappears at its coordinates, it will not be moving for days, if not weeks until repairs on its systems have been completed again. It takes a while for the mechanism to activate and once it does, it permanently takes the station out of the fight/thread.
  • Force Amplification: Valkeri Enterprise’s Force Chamber is integrated into a larger chamber of the station, and is meant to further amplify a powerful Force User, allowing them to perform far greater Force feats than normally possible.
  • Capsule Ejection: The chamber itself has been structured in such a way to be completely self-sufficient and detachable from the larger station. Without the capsule, the station loses all its ability to project the Force in a magnified way. This includes self-sustainable subspace engines and hyperdrive components in cases of catastrophic damage to the station.
  • Stealth Device: The station has sophisticated stealth features that allows it to hide away from sight. Because of its sheer size, this is only effective when it is operating at low-level energy.
  • Sensory Suite: Has state-of-the-art sensory equipment to detect threats before they can become hostile. It even possesses a rare CGT sensor to discover the most stealthed ships.
STRENGTHS
  • Turtling: Has layers of defenses from molecular shielding to flak cannons and more.
  • Swarm: Its large size means it is capable of fielding a lot of squadrons for its additional defenses. The circular rings provide a 360-degree exit allowing many starfighters to exit at the same time without being limited by one another.
  • Stealth: It possesses a full-spectrum stealth suite from a stygium cloaking device to thrust dampers and more. While the station can still be detected if actively scanned for when it is fully engaged, once the station is operating under minimum reactor load for all intents and purposes it would be impractical to discover under reasonable circumstances.
WEAKNESSES
  • Weaponless: Has practically no offensive capabilities on its own and has to rely on its defenses and extensive hangerbays to protect it.
  • Slow and lumbering: As a station, it relies solely on its hyperdrive to move around. It can use micro-jumps, but those take some time to wind up. It only contains thrusters for minimal reorientation and boosts that take a long time to accomplish their goal. Practically speaking once the Lightpoint Station has been stationed it has a fixed position until it jumps elsewhere through Hyperspace.
  • Specialized: Lightpoint Station is in essence a large delivery system. Its main point is to hide away and transport the powerful force amplification module towards any battlefield in range of its hyperdrives. Take away the force amplification module and it loses its primary way of dealing damage… if you can call it that.
DESCRIPTION

“The Maw Cultists are parasites. This will be the cure, its own weapons turned against it mercilessly. Don’t avert your eyes. Once it launches? It will be beautiful.”

Following a meeting between IVI IVI , Valery Noble Valery Noble , and Arage Bao Arage Bao , a plan was set in motion to directly strike into the heart of the Brotherhood of the Maw. With the liberation front deemed a great success, the Alliance seeks to further cripple its enemy by targeting their capital world, which acts as a great supplier of their military might. But destroying the underground Shipyards of Exegol is not enough to purge the Maw’s darkness from the Galaxy.

In secret, a large space station has been developed using remnants of the captured Maw station Gehinnom II and specialized SIA technology, within highly-secretive facilities operated by Kuat Drive Yards in classified locations. The purpose of this station is to act as a conduit for Jedi to channel powerful Force abilities through, with the intent that Valery Noble Valery Noble can initiate a Wall of Light that, through the help of many other Jedi, is powerful enough to cleanse the entirety of Exegol of the Dark Side.

Kuat Drive Yards was formally given the task because after restoration works it is once again one of the largest shipyards within the Galactic Alliance. This combined with its previous experience in the construction of large spaceworks. Secretly KDY was afforded a role so central to the project because of Arage Bao’s close proximity to the Director of SIA, M. Both of them were keenly interested in cooperating with the New Jedi Order. Neither of them wished this for the benefit of the former.

Instead they wished to see how they functioned, how well they performed under stress, and how they could effectively bolster their strengths. Because when you knew how to bolster them, you could figure out ways to break them in equal measure. Equally Arage was disinterested in leaving Lightpoint Station to the GADF if the mission was successful and the Station itself survived its job in orbit of Exegol.

Measures were taken to enable a relatively safe and quick way to transport the station out of harm’s way once the job was done. As well as methods implemented to disengage the central pod system, ensuring the Jedi would not be able to intervene, while securing their continued survival.

Neither Arage nor M believed they’d be able to rationalize the murder of the NJO’s sword in such public fashion.

These machinations, SIA assistance and GADF investments allowed Kuat to redesign the original Gehinnom II into a weapon against the Maw, rather than championing it as it was designed to do. Valkeri Enterprises delivered the specs and production of the meditation chamber allowing the Jedi to boost their power in immeasurable ways. Theoretically it would allow them to accomplish a Wall of Light powerful enough to purify a whole planet without killing the Jed involved.

Theoretically, because they did not test such a feat.

They’d have only one shot at it. They better make it count.

Thanks for the kind words!

My intent after the annihilation was to remove the force amplification chamber and reuse the rest of it as a big stealth sensor station. If I recall correctly I won't be able to do that if this gets treated as an official superweapon.

What actions would I need to take to allow for the above to happen?

Ok, here's my suggestion. For the purposes of the invasion we treat this like a superweapon, then once the story is done submit a modification request to rework it into a sensor station.

There are a few issues for both that we'll need to address regardless so I'll list them below so you know what we're dealing with.

1) Weapons

Lightpoint station has weapons, while its armament is Very Low, it is still armed. Per the factory rules.

  • Civilian vessels/stations are defined as having an armament rating of 'None' and, if they have a hangar rating, should not be able to field a compliment of starfighters in a combat capacity.

Lightpoint station is both armed and fields combat fighters meaning this is a combat station.

2) Size

This leads on from the previous point.

Since Lighpoint is a Military Station, for the size you're aiming for, you will need to either submit it as an SSD, or as a superweapon.

My suggestion

Since the station is currently being designed for use in the Annihilation, making it as a Superweapon right now makes the most sense and would mean there are no issues with any of the above points.

However, as you know, a superweapon can only be used in events and annihilations. I understand wanting to be able to use it, so you can then submit a modification to it. At that point you can choose to resubmit it as a standard SSD station, or strip away its weapons and fighter complement and treat it as a civilian station and therefore not require a SSD set of PvE threads.

Please read through the notes above and let me know what you want to do.

Oh, yes, that is perfect!

So, treat it as a superweapon now, once the thread is done I will submit the modification (remove the armament and the combat fighters or zero the hangar rate entirely, I am unsure yet which I will do) and treat it as a civilian station.
