Private Life on canvas

Iandre blinked, surprised by the answer, before a small smile appeared.

"I was twenty-three." she said quietly. "So we were almost the same age when it all happened."

She let out a soft, thoughtful laugh.

"Strange, isn't it?" She shook her head. "Now I'm going into my thirties, even if there was a nine-hundred-year jump somewhere in the middle."

Her smile remained warm.

"I suppose that's another reminder that our lives didn't end back then." She looked at Nolan kindly. "We've both had the chance to keep growing. That's a gift not everyone from our time was given."

Iandre smiled softly, though there was a sadness behind it.

"I'm still figuring that out." she admitted. "For a long time, I knew exactly who I was. I was a wife. A soldier. A Jedi."

She looked down at the brushes resting beside her easel.

"Now..." She let out a quiet breath. "I'm no longer a wife. I'm no longer a soldier. And for the first time in my life, I'm not serving with a Jedi Order."

Her fingers brushed lightly against one of the paintbrushes.

"So I'm trying to answer a question I never had to ask before." A small smile returned. "Who am I when those titles are gone?"

She looked back at Nolan, hope replacing the sadness.

"Maybe that's why I'm here today." She glanced at the half-finished painting. "To discover what comes next."

A quiet chuckle escaped Iandre, followed by a small shrug.

"I'm not entirely sure what I believe in anymore." she admitted honestly. "At least...not in the way I used to."

She looked out across the park, watching the children run beneath the afternoon sun.

"I used to believe in a government, an Order, and a future I could clearly see." She smiled faintly. "Life has a way of reminding us that none of those are permanent."

Her gaze returned to Nolan.

"What I do know is that I still believe people deserve kindness." She gestured lightly toward the painting. "That beauty is worth creating. That peace is worth protecting." Another shrug accompanied a warm smile. "Maybe that's enough for now."

Iandre nodded slowly.

"No." A small, thoughtful smile crossed her face. "Nothing ever is."

Her gaze lingered on the painting for a moment before returning to Nolan.

"I used to find that frightening." she admitted. "Now...I think it's what makes life meaningful."

She gestured toward the children laughing across the playground.

"Moments end. People change. Seasons pass." Her smile softened. "That's exactly why they're worth appreciating while we have them."

A quiet breath escaped her.

"If everything lasted forever..." she said, "I don't think we'd ever learn to cherish it."

Iandre smiled in agreement.

"I think so too." she said. "Even if we don't welcome it, change has a way of teaching us who we really are."

She regarded Nolan thoughtfully.

"How have you changed?" she asked. "Beyond simply arriving in another era." A curious smile crossed her face. "Have your views changed? Your approach to being a Jedi?"

After a moment, another question came to mind.

"And I'm curious..." She tilted her head slightly. "Do you have a lightsaber form you prefer over the others?"

Iandre smiled with a hint of admiration.

"All seven?" she asked. "That's an impressive foundation."

She chuckled softly.

"Form II has always been my preference." She mimed the subtle precision of a Makashi thrust with one hand. "I've studied the basics of the others, enough to recognize them and adapt when I need to, but Makashi always felt...right."

Her smile grew a little.

"Juyo and Makashi." She laughed quietly. "I don't think either of us would enjoy sparring very much. We'd probably spend more time studying each other's footwork than actually trying to win."

“Yeah I usually model my fighting style from the old temple guards who also carried double bladed lightsabers or I split my saber staff in half and use a behind them behind me like a old friend of mine named ahsoka used to do”

Iandre smiled thoughtfully as she listened.

"The Temple Guards were exceptional duelists." she said with an appreciative nod. "Modeling your style after them makes a great deal of sense."

The mention of Ahsoka drew a flicker of recognition.

"And Ahsoka had a very distinctive way of fighting." She smiled faintly. "Fluid. Unpredictable. It suited her."

She tilted her head, studying Nolan for a moment.

"I'm a little surprised we never crossed paths back then." she admitted. "We were nearly the same age, served during the same war, and both spent time around the Temple."

A quiet chuckle escaped her.

"Then again..." She shrugged. "The Jedi Order was large enough that two Knights could spend years serving the same cause and never properly meet."
