Private Life on canvas

Iandre blinked, surprised by the answer, before a small smile appeared.

"I was twenty-three." she said quietly. "So we were almost the same age when it all happened."

She let out a soft, thoughtful laugh.

"Strange, isn't it?" She shook her head. "Now I'm going into my thirties, even if there was a nine-hundred-year jump somewhere in the middle."

Her smile remained warm.

"I suppose that's another reminder that our lives didn't end back then." She looked at Nolan kindly. "We've both had the chance to keep growing. That's a gift not everyone from our time was given."

Iandre smiled softly, though there was a sadness behind it.

"I'm still figuring that out." she admitted. "For a long time, I knew exactly who I was. I was a wife. A soldier. A Jedi."

She looked down at the brushes resting beside her easel.

"Now..." She let out a quiet breath. "I'm no longer a wife. I'm no longer a soldier. And for the first time in my life, I'm not serving with a Jedi Order."

Her fingers brushed lightly against one of the paintbrushes.

"So I'm trying to answer a question I never had to ask before." A small smile returned. "Who am I when those titles are gone?"

She looked back at Nolan, hope replacing the sadness.

"Maybe that's why I'm here today." She glanced at the half-finished painting. "To discover what comes next."

A quiet chuckle escaped Iandre, followed by a small shrug.

"I'm not entirely sure what I believe in anymore." she admitted honestly. "At least...not in the way I used to."

She looked out across the park, watching the children run beneath the afternoon sun.

"I used to believe in a government, an Order, and a future I could clearly see." She smiled faintly. "Life has a way of reminding us that none of those are permanent."

Her gaze returned to Nolan.

"What I do know is that I still believe people deserve kindness." She gestured lightly toward the painting. "That beauty is worth creating. That peace is worth protecting." Another shrug accompanied a warm smile. "Maybe that's enough for now."
